      u are fast and SELFISH

      • Not fast enough or he would've taken all of them already…

    • +6

Seriously? There are just 5 codes for everyone and you decide to take 3 of them?

    • +2

Hope your computers get infected with something nasty.

    • I hope you can sleep better at night - knowing that your computersss are protected by this AV!

  • Check out the reviews: http://download.cnet.com/Bitdefender-Antivirus-Plus/3000-223…

I guess you can't complain if it's free, but there are some crappy reviews.

  • +4

    I have 5 more codes:
    VMILVN0, 6KP0JSP, MXKA5G4, LG5Y7M7, KI4P0MA

  • Not sure where I am supposed to be entering this in between all the free trial confusion…

    • Are these gone? It just keeps saying code invalid

  • +2

When I click on Download (BitDefender AV) it offers me a free 1 yr trial anyway
Is there any advantage to the codes?

    • Did you put these in as soon as Poulsen8r posted? Because I've been trying to get it to accept it since his post :) Guess I must be super slow :D

    • +1

      Hey,

since you seem to hog them all - I have 5000 more. Would you like them, too in a PDF file?

    • +2

      You took EIGHT codes?

Bloody hell, hope karma bites you in the ass.

  • +3

slowed my computer right down. had to uninstall. i'll stick to avast.

    • Happened to me aswell. Crashed my computer. Had to uninstall in safemode…. I guess my laptop is just too old :P

    • It's amazing how many antivirus programs are absolute resource hogs. it's why I like Microsoft Security Essentials (Free) and ESET (Paid) so much. Good detection rates and don't slow your machine down.

  • Anyone else chasing more codes….. As per OP, should work for BitDefender AntiVirus Plus 2012.

    DMRT54I, 7EXE4K7, RGNKTTK, ZP6V3DW, RFVV506, 2067T25, B75XH6N, IJTPPHF, R3S26UD, 7NNLCG3

  • W5WU073, EIJWKRH, 4J3QTU7, WYGRGYN, JQD0ISJ

    • These are my codes. Feel free to use them.

  • +3

So tempted to give out fake codes here, just to piss the leecher off…selfishness knows no bounds, apparently.

Can whomever has more codes, please not post it up here anymore? Ask whoever wants more codes to privately message you?

I have been an anti virus helpine for my club members since 1997, i do daily research, testing etc into anti virus programs. [2nd hobby]

If you want a free anti virus with excellent detection rates, try Avira from this page

http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus make sure you get the free version on the left side of the page.

The detection rates of the paid and free versions of avira is the same.[you will get splash screens to buy]

Check the detection rates of paid programs here: [A-V comparatives is well respected by the anti virus community.]

    http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stories/test/ondret/av…

The latest on demand test should be released soon.

The a-v comparatives organisation is worth watching every few months for the latest tests.

BUT you must read the info about how they test very carefully as the retrospective tests can be alarming, but the on demand tests give a good idea how your anti virus detection rates are.

    • The biggest defense against virus's is the users using good practices.

However all the antivirus companies usually have some sway with all the testing companies out there. It is incredibly easy to stack the results which has been done time and time again. I am sure you will find another testing company with very different results than the one shown there.

I can't believe how selfish some people are.

You're 2 hours too late.. If you didn't get the codes someone else would have.. Ozbargain's unofficial tag should be… 'right place.. right time'..

      • +1

I was in the right place at the right time, but I was too slow working out which code Bugatti hadn't entered yet… understandably, when I try to enter on posting (within a minute)and one member takes 8 in a row. All's fair in Ozbargaining, and I think it's considerate he at least posted to notify the codes were taken… but it is a leeetle rude ne?

        • The codes will probably be disabled anyway, since they've been used multiple times by multiple IP addresses. It was generous of the OP to post the codes, but he should have messaged the codes to people instead.

        • Unlikely they'd be disabled. Other common CD key registering sites don't care how many attempts are made to register a key (eg, Steam).

        • Its not the same as steam.. steam will only let you register a cd key once.. however, I registered 2 of the OP serials, one that was already being used by someone else and it still registered. Whether or not that same serial will work in a day.. week.. month from now, who knows.. but i doubt it..

      • To be fair, I did post them in the forum yesterday and no one wanted them there…

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66168

  • Well I still can't get a plan together here.. so thanks grog… I will take your advice rather. Cheers

  • Make very sure you remove your old anti virus 100% before changing to another brand.

Sometimes using the uninstall via control panel will leave heaps of stuff behind in the registry etc. This can cause slowdowns/bsods etc and other headaches for you.

Some/most reputable anti virus companies have a program removal tool to remove the last bits after a normal windows uninstall. [even then some remaining bits can sometimes be found]

Windows defender can also conflict with some programs.

Finally: the most effective way of ensuring that your data is safe is to have a complete uninfected backup stored away from the PC.

  • All 8 codes will work

  • -1

    pretty good antivirus

  • -2

By the way, i was there first so i got them

    • +2

So you want to brag about being selfish too?

    • Why on earth would you need 8 codes anyway???

  • -2

If your too slow you will be sore

    • +3

I hope you get run over by a Bugatti. That'll be excellent irony and fantastic entertainment.
