Audiofly AF1120 MK2 in-Ear Monitors w/ Super-Light Twisted Cable $399 Delivered (Normally $849) @ Store DJ

80

Top of the range earphones with mostly good to great reviews by Audiofly, one of a few Australian audio equipment designers and manufacturers. Seems to be the lowest price to date. The designer had gone out of business this year, but the seller still offers 2 year warranty

  • Isn't it up to the retailer to also provide a warranty? So if they can't fix them then it's a refund?

    • Good point, the retailer does provide 2 year warranty, updated the description

  • Superb deal

  • It's a shame they went out of business. I can a pair of Audiofly's a few years back but ditched them to go wireless. The reality is that prior to the wireless revolution, there was far more room for niche hifi businesses. Now it's often software that is the key differentiator and smaller players just can't match the big players. We're seeing the same in the hifi DAC and amplifier space where it's becoming increasingly difficult to justify spending more on the premium brands like Naim and NAD compared to a brand like Bluesound (owned by NAD but cheaper). Personally I think it's great news for us as the perception that you need to spend huge sums of money for audiophile quality is diminishing.

    • Interesting!

I find that as people get older they can afford expensive audio stuff and their hearing goes down. Then they won't need expensive audio!!

      The irony.

    • I've tried going wireless a few times now and keep coming back to corded. Just find the sound quality isn't good enough for me.

Shame because it's obviously far more convenient with wireless.

    • To add to this, a new and ever-growing niche has emerged in the form Chi-fi, that's Chinese Hifi manufacturers. They have completely upended value paradigms in audio, outclassing established IEMs, headphones, amplifiers and DACs all at a fraction of the price.

      • Except Fiio, I am disappointed by most of the Chifi IEMs I tried.

        • I daily drive a pair of Fiio FH3s. Which other brands have you tried? It is definitely a mixed bag.

          • @poppingtags: Tried and disappointed by KZ, CCA, BQEYZ, Open Heart. However, I loved the build quality of Open Heart. I just wish they sounded just as good.

            • @usbc activist: Yeah the sub-$100 space is more misses than hits, particularly with the brands you've listed. Brands like BLON, Kinera, Moondrop, TINHifi, THIEAUDIO, Mangrid and Shozy all have a few absolute gems.

              • @poppingtags: Is the moondrop aria 2021 a good purchase? I am thinking of getting it in the 11.11 sale

                • @usbc activist: The Aria is meant to be one of the best buys under $100, I'd watch a review on Youtube to make sure it aligns with your sound preferences though! It's essentially a cheaper version of the much loved Starfields, which is in itself a cheaper version of the much loved KXXS. Some great trickle down technology in the Aria :)

  • $399 for no warranty earbuds? Great! I'll get half a dozen to go with my stock of Huawei phones!
