    How much is it normally?

  • +4

    Showing "2,500 points + $792" for me…

How do you get it without using points?

  • Same

  • +2

Need points to get this deal. Please update title.

  • +2

    Min. 2,500 pts + $792

  • Would this be a decent upgrade from a Poco f2 pro. Just for everyday usage nothing special.

    • +5

I wouldn't think so. Not a bad camera upgrade and a good screen upgrade, but if it isn't bothering you at the moment it's a pretty expensive move. You're apparently going to get Android 12 so there isn't a huge software difference. Basically the same weight and size though.

You lose the headphone jack if that bothers you too.

I've turned into a grandpa that doesn't want to upgrade tech as often anymore though. If you just want a new shiny it'll at least be better but it's not like it'll improve your life somehow. I'd wait for the 8 and having something to show for all that AI hardware they've put in there (plus more than 3 years of OS upgrades)

        • rwt, yeah I’m sure you did. lol!

      • i just got android 12 and hate it. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it really, but seems to shift things around for no reason so you have to re-learn how to do things again. Yes I'm getting old too.

    • +3

imo phones especially like the f2 pro have reached the point wherein the only time to upgrade esp for regular use would be for when security patch support runs out as they contain nearly every feature that matters so nothing feels like a true upgrade. Save your money for now, buy yourself the pixel 7/8 probably with a more mature chipset platform.

  • +3

Need the deal for Pro one :(

    • +2

      It looks also available.

      • +1

Only in the sunny 128GB from the look of it.

        • Needs 6900 points to get this, so not enough with just vaccination.

  • +2

Just found out that I have Telstra account, may be with Boost, just joined Telstra Plus.

    • Nice - hopefully you have some points in there

  • +1

    Thanks OP bought one.

  • +15

Just saw this on their site "Until 31 January 2022, fully vaxxed Telstra Plus members can claim 2,500 bonus points, plus have the chance to win big." just enough for this phone.

    • +12

Yup that's how I got mine. Worth getting vaxxed…lol

    • Got a prepaid SIM delivered few months ago to get Telstra Id and never got access to Telstra plus. Dunno what I did wrong. Maybe should've bought from Woolies?

      • You have to sign up for Telstra Plus

        • Yeah, after login to Telstra have option to join.

        • Yup, I login on both web and app but when I try to join Telstra+ it either says "you're in" but then it goes in loop, or "You are unable to join Telstra Plus" …

    • Yeah I got mine on the last deal with this. Inactive Telstra account, used the vaccine thing to get the necessary 2,500 points. Now have the phone and using it on Boost. VoWifi working great.

  • +3

The Pixel 6 Pro 5G 128GB Sunny 49,900 points + $960 is also in stock.

  • Thanks OP. Been saving my points for the last year year in preparation for this years Pixel release.

    • I only have Boost any other ways to save points?

      • +1

I just tried, I'm boost as well. Click link above , login using Telstra ID. Sign up to Telstra plus. Claim covid vaccine and get 2500pts. Purchase. :)

    6.4" 207g quite heavy.

recent reviews showed so many flaws, especially fingerprint scanner would not work if battery gone flat (0%), you have to reset (rebooting phone does not help), and fingerprint scanner a bit slower than other competitors (Google claims … for extra security), battery life is average etc

    • +8

fingerprint scanner would not work if battery gone flat (0%)

How would the phone even turn on, let alone use the fingerprint scanner, if the phones battery is at 0%?

      • +1

I think he means after recharged

        • yep, even after recharging from 0% up, you have to reset fingerprint, so, ensure your phone batter not flat or until they fix this issue

    • +1

Get a day and a half of battery out of mine….shrugs

      • Mine lasts half a day. Pixel 6 Pro user here. Even disabled 5G and the battery life is still terrible.

        • +9

Even disabled 5G and the battery life is still terrible.

          Screen on time?

        • Mine lasts half a day. Pixel 6 Pro user here

This statement is meaningless unless you provide some idea of how you use it. When I used to game on my phone I'd get a few hours battery life. Now that I only uses it for the odd call/txt and email I get a day and half out of my 2.5 year old Pixel 3a.

    • +2

Fingerprint fine for me and this is coming from an s21. You can also increase the sensitivity

      • -3

try to leave battery flat and check it out :)

        • +2

Who would purposefully leave the battery flat?

  • +1

    Got one, tysm OP!

  • Was waiting for an f3 deal and reading up on removing MIUI bloat, but this was too good to pass up!

    Good find, thanks OP!

  • Does anyone know how to transfer points between accounts?

  • Most pros oos

  • +5

if ya need point you can add ya covid certificate number in and redeem 2500 points

  • +1

    Is this locked to Telstra?

  • I only have 1050 points in my account , so how should I purchase it ?

  • Sweet, grabbed the Sunny Pro.

  • +1

Why am I tempted by this when my pixel 4a 5g is perfectly fine

    • +3

my thoughts exactly except with a Pixel 2

      • +2

I echo your thoughts from my 2018 pixel 2xl.

        • my battery life isn't great but with WFH, you're never more than 10m from a charging station!

        • +1

How are you still surviving with 2XL? My Pixel 2xl is sluggish as the slowest slug, and has been for almost a year, since the Android 11 upgrade I think. I have been waiting desperately to upgrade for a year now, almost jumped on to Pixel 5, but am glad I waited. And pulled triggered on the Pixel 6 Pro on the release date, first hr. Got notification today that it's been dispatched, can't wait to get it tomorrow. And then will be surrendering my 2XL to the baby boomer in the house. But it did serve me well.

          • @ggbhai: Reset your phone, it will perform like new.

          • @ggbhai: Lately I have realised that my p2xl is freezing and getting slow but still working fine …so no need to update….

      • How have you lasted this long?!?!? Well done.

My Pixel 2's battery had well had it. On Pixel 5 now, very similar experience which is great (not to tempt you unless you need to).

    • no need, i am still using 2xl, still functioning but little lag, so it's time to update

    • No reason. You have unlimited high quality photos upload. That's worth more than this deal

      • What do you mean ?

        • +1

Pixel 5 or older has unlimited google photos backup to the cloud if you use the device to upload photos. Pixel 6 does not.

This perk was a major winner over for me to switch from Samsung and Oneplus

  • Do you need to attach a Telstra plan to that?

    • +3

No it's an outright purchase through the rewards store

  • for the charger, can i use mac charge for it ? or have to purchase it separetly from google ?

    • +1

Laptop charger will do the trick. Don't bother buying the charging brick from google.

      • +1

Any PD Charger can fast charge it but you will need a PD charger that support PPS to get full 22W charging (it's actually limit to 22W not the full 30W).

        • Is Mac pro. charger a pd charger? Not sure..

          • @coast666: Yes it is. However I don't believe it has PPS.

            • @Bigboomboom: sorry, what do you mean by PPS?

              • @coast666: PPS is a sub standard of PD, it is used in Pixel 6 and Samsung Galaxy for super fast charging. Without PPS I can guess that the Pixel 6 will charge between 15W-18W on normal PD.

      • +1

I see, thanks, don't understand nowadays you need to pay separate for the charger

        • +2

We can all thank Apple and their sheep for this new ridiculous trend.

  • also, in terms of warranty, can go anywhere Telstra in store for it? or have to contact Google for it? thanks

    • Aus statutory warranty means the direct seller (Telstra) has to offer warranty

  • Nice! Can I use this with another network provider? Can anyone confirm?

  • +1

Tempted but there are so many issues. I am okay with a slow fingerprint sensor and display issues but not with fingerprint sensor permanently disabling itself if the battery dies down. Google's piss poor hardware form continues.

    • Haters gonna hate. Every big tech item has some sort of issue, remember the iPhone dropping out because you were holding it wrong, or the bending iPhone?
How about Tesla panel gaps and spontaneous fires? Or Samsung TV's with their flaky capacitors?
If you read and believe every negative story on the Internet you'll never buy anything

  • +2

The JB hi-fi trade in deal is better I feel. trading in a pixel 5 gets you $400 credit plus a $200 voucher to contribute to pixel 6 or pixel 6 pro.

    • Ooo where is the deal that mentions additional 200?

    • +2

That's a strong nope - unless you have a phone to trade in, then your opinion may be valid for a small % of people, otherwise, the basis of this deal is better than a trade in

      • That's a strong nope - unless you have a phone to trade in

Yes, just like the Samsung trade in, until you have a phone to trade.

    • +2

Is that to outright price? Or is it conditional to going onto a plan?

And what does it end up out of pocket? for either Pixel 6's

(sorry to ask…. I appreciate for any maths as there's a lot of deals getting about.)

edit: got off my lazy butt and checked on other post……Google Pixel 6 $799 or Google Pixel 6 Pro $1099 with the $200 trade in coupon applied, then - $400 for pixel 5 trade in would make the Google Pixel 6 $399 or Google Pixel 6 Pro $699 I believe.

  • this one or samsung S21???
