  • Is this a good brand or your metrovac is better?

I used my leaf blower 54v from dewalt with good result. I think it will be quicker as well as the nozzle is 3x the size of the listed item.

Warmed air is definitely going to help, a leaf blower is designed to push a lot of air as widely as possible and as fast as possible to push things around. Dryers like this are designed to create a lot of air circulation and fill a small space with a lot of warm air at a decent pressure, but not at super high speed. In many cases a smaller nozzle is better for drying since it can be more easily put in smaller or hard to reach places like under seats, in nooks and crannies, etc. The warmed air is also a big factor, because a leaf blower pushes the water and moisture away from a surface, but it still takes time to evaporate, warming the moisture helps it evaporate and dry quicker. It's like dusting and the difference between using a cloth to push dust into a corner where you can't see it, and actually picking up the dust and removing it.

Will it do a better job than your leaf blower? Absolutely yes. Will it do a better job to the point that you should spend a lot of money replacing said blower when you already think it does a good enough job? Personally I don't think so. But if someone had neither and was deciding between them, I'd definitely recommend this over a leaf blower.

    • Never used Blo. Looks much cooler in blue than my MetroVac blower. Metro also almost twice the price compared to the Blo, so just saying if I had the choice I'd probably look at this unit. The site has a video of Blo in use.

I use the outlet port on my ryobi shop vac.

The motor warms the air a noticable amount, and it has a hepa filter.

$79 on sale. Probably not as warm as this; but since shop vacs are metal tubbed, im sure I could put some hot packs in there.

    • Haha classic.

Here another idea used $10 hair dryer form Kmart and connect a adaptor with a smaller nozzle so it act like a hose :)

    • Yeah I'm pretty sure the outlet on most wet and dry Vac's pushes out warm air

      • I use the blowing function on my Karcher Wet/Dry Vac, happy with the results.

    8 HP is 6 KW.

So are you saying this needs a 24 amp plug?

    I call BS.

    or am I missing something?

    • It's a bit like those 3kw portable A/Cs that have a 10 amp plug on them.

    • Found some better numbers here

"8hp" but pulls 2/2.4kW at 120/230V. So, BS. Or their "hp" means something different than the rest of the world.

  • I use a pet dryer and apart from the shorter hose which I get around with an extension cable for power it works the same.

  • I got the Air-rs for my pets as I wanted something with more pressure then the ebay pet dryers. The three years warranty and long hose is a positive for my household.

Might see if I can use it for my pc parts to replace the compressed air cans but I doubt there is enough pressure there.

  • I use a bigboi blowr mini+
Love it, but it's expensive, but I'm too frugal to purchase the wheelie attachment.Tey often do Christmas deals to get the longer hose too.
