@spaceflight: In summer on a weekend trip, if all the passengers get out the air in the cabin is replaced entirely. After a refuel and drink or toilet brake it is minimum 10 minutes in my experience.
I guess each to their own, I just like to have the car back to cool immediately.
Also want to keep the starter wear to minimum and turbo-diesel likes to keep running rather than short stop/starts.
