    • Scared because TV said so.

Also, a lack of actual critical thinking?

Free in the UK. Why aren’t they free here?

    • Larger population means more tax is collected.

I know "logically" that doesnt add up (if you have more people, surely you spend more too!) But its heavily skewed. Even if the 'percentage' stays the same, the cost per test does too, so for more tax payers, so long as you have a surplus at all, you can afford more.

everyone pays their tax, but the same percentage of people bother to seek medical help over smaller things; resulting in a net gain for the NHS.

Thank you for asking, and not just belittling the idea. Results in some discussion.

      • I suggest it would be more a strategy thing than a tax thing - more people paying tax but more tests handed out as well. A PCR test costs the government something like $180 each from memory which will go down. We're lagging the world by many months, we introduce Moderna as other countries are banning it, so they well could become free when cases disappear and testing hubs start disappearing.

    • Heck, they were illegal here for home use prior to November. We have to walk before we can run.

      • Isn’t it our technology? Developed in Brisbane or is that something else? I thought they developed a rapid test…

We shouldn't post covid related products on OzBargains. This should be a place for real bargains not a place for scams and charlatans.
