        Van Gogh maneuver

Van Gogh only cut off his left ear. With my patented technique, you can cut off both.

Just go to your GP for syringing or microsuction. Don't risk your hearing sticking things up your ears.

    • Agree 100%!!

      • When I got microsuction (for free at Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre, Canberra) the doctor told me the only safe thing to put into your ear is your thumb… As in, nothing should go into your 👂

I think they now charge a small fee at the medical centre, but better off paying for a doctor then to cause irreversible damage.

        • +1

Good old LNP cuts to Medicare creating bigger gap fees.

My GP now does the same due to Morrison's Medicare cuts.

        • Irreversible might be a bit far… But you get the idea

        • the only safe thing to put into your ear is your thumb

I tried that and damaged my ear drum…

          • @jv: Please clarify, do you have an absurdly big ear canal or tiny, tiny thumbs?

            • @TeruMorgan:

              or tiny, tiny thumbs?

              I'm not proud of it…

    • +3

It has a camera. That is the whole point of it…so you can see not to damage anything. I have one and it's amazing for regular cleaning. If you need to go to the doctor, it's because you haven't cleaned your ears for a long time and that is disgusting.

      • +1

Hahahah! Just make sure you record the video so when you actually go into the doctors they can see too. ;)

        • +1

This product isn't for everyone, the camera is good because you can just look, if you're worried/not confident then go to the doctor, but definitely have a look and a picture, its the best before and after 😎

I'm assuming the tip/scoop thing comes off so it can b just a camera (mine does that).

I've looked into my son's ears and on occasion said yeah nah let's go to the doctor. They'll pull out this massive syringe filled with water and flush it all out. No fun 😜

    • Yea they're good. I got the M9

Haha, I've been doing this for years… I grew up with this type of thing where mum would tell you to not move for obvious reasons 😎.

It might be a cultural thing too.

The USB camera I've had since 2018 has taken away the ambiguity of going in dark. Its replaced my otoscope.

My usb otoscope is different, still connects via USB to a mobile & camera fi2 but i use a tiny metal scooper thingy from my local asian $2 Shop.

The camera is just to provide light and visibility into what is in there.

Obviously if you're not keen don't get this, but with a steady hand, a non wriggling test subject, its very satisfying and of course takes patience & practice.

Its obviously not safe and you need to take your time and do it slowly, its not for everyone and I definitely don't let the missus come near me with it, I diy!

      • I am just going to assume you are deaf already.

        • +1

Haha. I've got years of xp, and before my usb otoscope, it was the old school otoscope.

With the scoop tool, you can just hold it in a way that only a maximum depth can go in, once you get used to it you just change your grip and go deeper.

Be kind to yourself, try something like this rather than living with long term damage.

Too dangerous and shouldn't be allowed to be sold.

Your hearing is too fragile to be stuffing something like this 'tool' into your ear.

    • Based on that theory, cars should be gone too.

      • +1

        Hardly a fair comparison, dude.

  • +2

Pretty sure the ears were self cleaning for a while there

    Wonder what changed?

    The invention of cotton waddlers?

Remember that ear wax is normal and healthy, if you have irritation in the ear it's better to see a doctor.

Call your local medical centres and ask if they offer FREE microsuction (bulk billed). I have done this in the past, unblocking my ears safely and FOR FREE!

DIY your computer, not your health.
