    Hard to know without seeing the quality, but porcelain tends to be more expensive and stay nicer longer than stoneware. This is a good price. A white set like this is also timeless.

    yep, i have enough white plates, but the mugs appeal and are probably $6ea on their own.

  If you want a plain white set, just get from IKEA. Their plates etc are under $1 each and are superb quality.
