                  • @I Smell Pennies: Thanks for sharing your insight. Further to this, do you know if Oculus Rift Store is in essence the same as the Oculus Quest Store for DLC content?

                    Specifically regarding this:

Let’s start with the one clear cut advantage that Oculus Rift Store has over Steam.
                    The DLC packs are cross-buy!
While I haven’t personally confirmed this, several readers have pointed out the DLC packs themselves are cross buy compatible. Meaning if you buy them for Quest or Rift, you get them on the other platform. If you purchase on Steam, your DLC purchases are isolated to that platform alone. If you’re planning to buy DLC, you should be looking at getting it on Oculus Rift Store instead of Steam.

                      @Master Bates: No worries

No I do not, sorry mate. But if you can it’s be great, only if the price is cheaper

                    • +1

@Master Bates: I'm not sure about Rift/Quest, but I know Go/Quest stores are different. I owned Keep Talking on the Go and it didn't carry across to the Quest.

                      • @puffinfresh: Thanks for your input.

It's somewhat of a redundant question because I won't be buying another headset in the foreseeable future. I was just hoping to maximise the chances longer term if someone knew for sure.

The ability to play it untethered pushed me to purchase the Quest version over the PCVR version anyway.

            • @AussieMark: Nope i have aud 4 left from referral credit and i can't use this welcome25 code.
I did buy discounted game during black friday in aud, also in cad.

              • @CyberMurning: weird i can use welcome25 with referral credit as long as AUD and its not already on sale or bundle

  • Does anyone had the mixed reality working on the quest 2 after the so called v35 update? I still don’t have the options despite both phone app and headset are with latest version.

    • +2

I believe this is done by setting up on your phone to cast to the phone, then you can record and change into mixed reality mode. It was terrible in synth riders, perhaps that game hasn't go it supported? Haven't tried in any others.

      • Right, so sounds like the option will only appear after you casting? I will give it a try tonight.

        • Still don’t see the option there ..

          • @angelsdsd: Are you using an iOS device? I'm not sure it works on Android, see here:
            https://www.oculus.com/blog/mixed-reality-made-easy-messenge…

It states that it needs an iPhone XS or higher.

It might only provide the option in supported games also, which I find hard to believe synth riders is one considering how bad it worked when I tried it.

            • @WeiKaiLe: Hi @WeiKaiLe, yes I am using a iPhone 12 with all latest version etc. I think I went into beat saber then casting but I didn’t see the mixed reality option coming up. Would you mind explain a bit more detail of your casting process? Appreciate it! Or it’s just my oculus hasn’t been rolled out with the function yet. Also what’s your oculus app version on your iPhone?

              Thanks!

              Cheers,
              Danny

@angelsdsd: My version is 140.1 if that helps at all. There was no obvious button that said mixed reality, I don't think the words are ever used. Once it was casting to my phone I went to record and either it started automatically in mixed reality mode or there was a toggle I could press. I just remember it being nothing obvious but as I knew the feature existed I just tried some options until it worked. If I remember next time I'm using my headset I'll see if I can find it again.

                • @WeiKaiLe: Not a great video but this guy probably explains it better than I could in text:
                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrT5jWXo3_8&t=45s

                  • @WeiKaiLe: Appreciate it mate! My problem is I don’t have that icon as he has for the mixed reality. Same comment from someone under his video and he mentioned to uninstall and reinstall the app then it might work. I will give that a try.

  • Have finally had a chance to play with mine, amazing tech but I have one issue…

I can't quite get the optics right. Even after best adjustment of the straps and cleaning the lenses, my peripheral vision is blurry and there are 'rays' around text, not sharp. I've measured my ipd to be approx 69 so should be the setting 3 position. But I still can't get it right.

Any tips? Is this just how it is or any chance this is faulty?

    • +1

Mine was also somewhat similar. Initially peripheral vision was noticeably blurry and with text it wasn't all that sharp as you have mentioned.

However after some adjustments and installing a cushiony head strap pad on the back (with the addition of a powerbank to add a bit more weight to the back) things did improve significantly.

Although peripheral vision I would say is still a bit on the blurry side, for the most part it's not all that noticeable for mine especially during general usage.

    • +1

You can put the lens in half position not just 1 2 3, can be between 2 and 3 for example

      • +1

69 ipd is just beyond the 3 position, can't go any further.

        • Oo sorry i didnt remember the ipd conversation to the settings.
May need to check myself later

  • Does anyone know how to display all the products shipped by Amazon warehouse? I want to use the promotional credits.

    • +1

Around where the price is shown it should also show where they are shipped from and sold by. The promo credit only applies to items shipped from and sold by Amazon AU.

    • +2

On the left side of the screen, on a pc, there's a list of suppliers, if it's there for what you've searched for click 'Amazon AU'
