@dealhunting007: My understanding is you won't, but you'll get charged the trade-in value of the phone you did not return. This is the minimum cost.
Some people report being charged an administration fee?. I'm not one to say that you can NEVER lose the $500 bonus, but it appears most have reported that this is not the case.

Once you trade you phone you will receive 3 emails. One for gift card value for your trade in, another email on instructions to post your phone back and 3rd email containing coupon code either 500 for Samsung or 200 for pixel. Do it quickly as it might not be available after 12am. Cheers

@Nickbag: 500 coupon is to buy Samsung phone.. doesn't matter what phone you trade. If it doesn't work email jbhifi trade in tomorrow and ask them to cancel so you don't loose anything

Need to trade something that has a value, then you get the bonus coupons and a trade-in credit. Most people use one of the two coupons, either $500 for the Samsung or $200 for a Pixel 6 / 6 Pro

What if trade in item is not sent back? Do u lose $500 bonus or just tradein value. From t&c it seems like trade in value only
@dealhunting007: As it was, if you had a mobile that they considered to have a value, then you got an offer for the trade-in mobile; you also got two bonus coupons of which could be used independently. If you have one or both of those bonus coupons unused now, then unless something changes, the $500 one that can only be used to buy the Samsung mobiles in the list, is no longer valid. The $200 one that can only be used to buy the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro seems to have an extended expiry (possibly due to stock / supply issues). As there hasn't been a shortage of Samsung stock, it is probably unlikely that the Samsung $500 coupons will be extended, but who knows, we may get lucky.
If you don't send in the trade-in mobile, then the credit for that, and NOT the bonus coupons, will either be cancelled if not used or if used, then a charge will be made on your credit card for the value.

Samsung got what they wanted.
I expect the majority of people buy a $1000 plus phone on a plan, they have all effectively paid rrp.
I would also expect everyone who bought a heavily discounted Samsung outright would never have bought one if they had to pay full price. Resale value isn't Samsung's problem, selling as many phones as possible is.

Pixel is less than 6 weeks old, has the constant Google updates and camera will likely get better still with software updates. That said, apparently there are supply shortages of the Pixel 6 Pro - you might not be able to obtain one this side of Christmas.

In store, JB Hifi are denying that this price was available last night; fortunately I have a photo taken at 23:18 last night to show otherwise. I hope they honour this as that will mean that they'll have to give me an eGift card for $526 (I already had a $74 discount). I was told they have a 7 day price guarantee. Under normal circumstances this would be a little easier, but I had used the expiring trade-in bonus credit coupon of $500, which I could have just have easily used last night before the 23:59 deadline.
As it turned out, I tried to do a fresh trade-in to get a new coupon, but the ID system for the trade-in site wouldn't work for me on the desktop browser after success on the mobile phone.
