    250!
    Can I get 250
    :)

  • How dis compare to s6 lite?

    • +1

One's a Chromebook that runs Android apps, the other is an Android Tablet.

      • Does that mean that this one can still run android apps?

        Sorry I'm a total noob.

        • +2

The operating system on this tablet is called Chrome OS. The operating system on a phone is called Android OS. Both are capable of running apps from Google's Play Store.

        • +1

If you want to mainly run Android apps and occasionally use the browser then buy an Android tablet. If you want to mainly use Chrome browser and extensions etc and occasionally use Android apps, then buy a Chromebook.

        • The big advantage of ChromeOS for me is that Chrome appears as desktop browser which can avoid the restrictions imposed by some organisation policies to only allow access via an android app and 'work profile'.

This is particularly useful if you work across multiple organisations.

  • Commented on an earlier post - but just bought w Amazon GC

    So handy, great price

  • RIP those who bought for $299 just earlier today. Cancel and reorder if you can.

    • +1

      yea rip
bought it during the lighting sale, and it was out for delivery already so couldnt cancelled.
but i called up and they credit the difference. now to buy a firetv stick

  • Does anyone actually use this seriously? For me I mainly use it for reading and Netflix but can’t imagine using it for anything else as it’s so slow and laggy.

    • +1

what do you use on it, thats laggy?

    • Well, I run Chromium OS on RPI 4; try removing some extensions help a lot.

      • thanks for the tip

  • Bought 3 gift cards with ShopBack (2%+2%+2%) with previous cashback Balance.
Then enable ShopBack to purchase the device (5%?)

    • 0% under computers?

  • how to get the 5% price beat ? I open the officework link, it shows the price is $277 and there's no price change at the checkout…

    • +1

Can price match either in store or by calling 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423).

But since it after hour and this deal ends midnight, you won't be able to price-beat.

      • thanks mate, that's very helpful for a new oz guy. BTW, how did you tell this deal ends midnight? because it's cyber Monday deal?

and do you think there would be a better price in the following days since the BF is coming soon ?

        • There's a countdown timer on the Amazon Product Page, which ends at midnight.

          • @RichardL: thanks. do you think there would be a better price in the following days since the BF is coming soon ? any idea?

  • Now $277. So not really expired.

    • +1

      Updated.

  • Help! I am tempted by these $277 Lenovo Duet Chromebooks. I have had an HP X2 before and generally loved it as a portable device. Not as a writing tool. So I went to an iPad Pro 12.9. I will definitely be keeing the iPad.

So now back to this $277 wonder…..

Has anybody got both an iPad and a Chromebook? Oh and a few laptops.

Give me a use case or tell me why I shouldn't bother.

    Damn tech!

  • I bought this for $400 and it's well worth that price, so $277 is absolutely ridiculous value for this device! Don't hesitate.

  • Has anyone installed reading eggs for their kids and it runs ok?

  • Cancelled my order at $275… waiting for shopback 10% cashback tonight!
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665946

    • Nice thinking, but wonder if price goes up before then? Imagine this for $250.

      • +1

Well this is just an impluse buy so I don't mind if I miss out but great if I can get it for $250…

        • Agreed and the same.

          • @boxall: Decided not to get one even at $250. Sticking with my iPad pro 12.9 and numerous laptops.

            • +2

              @boxall: Wrong. Purchased!!!!!

              • +1

@boxall: Repurchased at $277 with shopback, no tracked yet. And now back to $275! lol

  • Not great if it doesn't have a sim card slot if you need to get online while out and about.

    • Most don't at anything like this price.

    • +1

If you have an android phone, it can automatically use the phone as a hotspot without you doing it manually.

      • Yep, that's an option I could do. Anything to keep the kids off my phone. Hahaha

  • Officeworks do Price-Beat with Amazon?

    • Yes. They pricebeat AmazonAU.

      • They pricebeat AmazonAU instore or u have to purchase it over the phone?

  • Same price at Officeworks.

    • $275 @ Amazon AU
      $277 @ Officeworks

Arrived yesterday. 2nd Chromebook. Still issues with the OS but what a great little device. Impressive.

    • +1

Have you updated it, there's about 4 big updates to get it up to the current Version.

      • Yep. Sure have. The main thing they still can't get working is smart phone unlock. Two different Chromebooks and two different phones.

        Also phone hub doesn't work.

        • Hub works on the Duet with an Galaxy S8 i can read them but i haven't sent anything.

Unlocking however I haven't been able to figure out to work, not really a problem for me.

        • Hub works, I get messages from my phone and their notifications. I can send messages too, you have to install messages for Google (on both devices) for this to work, pair the phone to the Chromebook and you're off and running.

And phone to unlock works, it won't on rebooting the Chromebook, you need to input your PW the first time , but will every other time after that.

  • Anyone getting some bad video lag on Prime video? Netflix app is fine.

    • I use the browser versions of Prime and Netflix unless I'm going somewhere where I'm going to not have internet, in which case I load the apps and download episodes. Browser version is better in most circumstances.

      • Makes sense. Especially when not travelling!

  • Hmm got one for myself from OfficeWorks. Has some minor issue.

    1) Out of the box, the USB-C port on this has scratches (paint worn exposing silver underneath) around the perimeter of the port.

    2) The sticker on the back (that contains things such as model/serial#) is at an angle. Which not only unsightly, but one of the sticker corner sticks out from the case's rounded edges, which mean it get caught onto things/you can feel the corner of the sticker.

Is this typical for this device? Anyone got the same?
Can this be easily exchanged at OW?

    • +1

No such issues with the USB port. Sticker on the back is not perfectly straight, but doesn't stick out.

    • +1

usb-c port is blemish free on mine

Sticker is on straight and back from the rounded edge

      sorry ahoihoi…

    • Thank you for all of your kind replies.

Would you guys be able to share the 'date of manufacture' of the device?

      Mine is 13 July 2021

  • +1

4 Oct 2021 from Officeworks purchased C&C on Black Friday sales.

    6/9/2021 - Amazon

  • Anyone bought a glass screen protector or a kid friendly case? Only case i can find is the bobjgear on Amazon, but no kickstand etc.
Wonder is any other tablet cases will fit it.

  • Slightly revised thoughts on this. As a secondary device it is ok. Gets lagy at times but expected for the $$$. Good for travel and Retro gaming.

    • After Chrome OS 96, feels snappier, BUT every now and then it does forget how to auto rotate.

  • Can’t believe I missed this deal. Any idea if this will come back soon? It’s priced at $395 now
