Xiaomi Mi Band 6 Fitness Tracker US$24.99 (~A$34.59) Delivered @ Hekka

1310

On sale for the cheapest price yet and beating my own previous Banggood deal is the popular Xiaomi Mi Band 6. This is the Chinese version, but the only difference from the Global version is that the packaging is in Chinese instead of English. The hardware and all other features remain the same.

The improvements over the Mi Band 5 is a larger 1.56" 152x486 AMOLED display (was 1.1") , SpO2 sensor (was China only) and 30 sport modes (was 11).

Other features include over 130 watch faces, heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, 14 day battery life, 50m water resistance, magnetic charging and more. It works with apps including Mi Fit, Google Fit and Xiaomi Wear.

1 order per customer, free shipping and AU$ based on current Mastercard rate.

Hekka.com is a more new Chinese store and I checked with reps from BG, GB etc. and they've heard of them. Worst case you'll have PayPal on your side.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

    Cheers, got one!
Will be a good Kris Kringle gift i think.

    • +1

Definitely pushing it so close to Christmas.

      • Yeah a little worried about that, haha worst case it'll be a gift to myself.

      • Good easter gift then :)

      • I've been surprised - all my recent Aliexpress orders have made it to Sydney in a week or less.

The risk is once they've made it through customs and into the AusPost systems - up to three weeks and I'm less than 10km from Sydney airport. That said, I did also get a pleasant surprise last week with one order taking less than a week from China to my front porch in just 7 days, so here's hoping that its a sign that AusPost is getting on top of things.

        • Got mine today, paired with Mi Fit app and seems to be working OK.

    • +2

Will be a good Kris Kringle gift i think

      for Xmas 2022

      • You mean “For Xmas 2022?”

        • nope…

    • You've got a $35 AUD Kris Kringle going? Yikes.

      • +1

Mine was $12.99 ex cashback. Admittedly I could have just got a packet cheap from Kmart and wrote Prick on it with a sharpie.

        • +1

Lol. I personally hate Kris Kringle/secret santas. You just end up with a bunch of junk. At least your one is consumable (and not wine/chocolate)!

          • @dust:

            $35 Kris Kringle

            *sigh * inflation

  • I've got one and have been wearing it for 2 weeks. It's pretty handy. I do wish you could set a time frame to stop vibrate notifications the same way you can set a time frame to stop the screen coming on when tilting your wrist.

    • +10

You can install the 3rd party app "Notify for MiBand" which has heaps more features than standard MiFit.
It will let you set times as you requested.

      • Oh thanks for that, will check it out.

    • +1

This is what the DND (Do not disturb) is for unless I am misunderstanding your requirement?

      • DND does do this but only with one custom time frame. I'd like it if I could set it to not disturb me for multiple time frames throughout the day.

    • Is there any way to download the spO2 (blood oxygen level) data?

      • +1

Not to my knowledge, but I haven't really used the spO2 much.

EDIT: Using the 'Notify for mi Band' app mentioned above there is an option to export the spO2 data.

    • They had a firmware update 2-3 weeks ago on this band that I think made the raise to wake detection very sensitive. I’m not sure if it’s fixed itself as I’ve just tested it and it seems to be ok (or I’ve just become accustomed to it).

  • -2

Not bad. Will upgrade when they get down to $15.

    • +7

Nah you won't. You'll be saying the same thing about the next model and the model after that.

      • -2

        Nah you won't.

That's what I did with the Mi Band 5

  • Id probably prefer to buy through aliexpress and get my 100% crypto cashback via social good

    • +5

I knew there was going to be a crypto comment when I got the notification that you commented.

      • +3

        Rekt ?

    • What's the best price you can get on Aliexpress? Can't you just buy it here and the extra you save you can buy whatever crypto you want?

If you're paying with Paypal, would recommend not using their sh*tty conversion rate, just pay in USD.

    • 100%. Link your currency conversion free card in PP and then pay in USD.

Has anyone managed to find a band for these for tiny wrists? I'm looking for my child - and they have very small wrists and most of the bands (with the exception of things like Garmin Vivofit Jr) are still too big at the smallest size.

    • I saw some on ebay for band 5,just search for Xiaomi Mi band cartoon. I think they are compatible with band 6.

    • I have a leather one with beads on it that i got from Ebay. I have small wrists and just cut the leather to size.

    • I bought a bunch on ebay historically - lots of different styles and some have a lot of extra holes in them and have different fasteners - might be worth checking those out if you haven't yet?

      • The one i have has a clasp so you just cut the leather and put the clasp on the end, no need to make holes

    • +1

I had a similar requirement and also something less likely to pop off the wrist easily (as my band 5 standard band does sometimes).

Found this nylon/velcro strap that fits both the 5 and 6 (used the same strap for both types) that has been fine on a 7 year old and 9 year olds wrist. The 7 year old particularly is a good durability/lose-ability test.
Velcro easily adjustable to small sizes and holding up well after 5 months just as strong as originally. If velcro comes undone there is a catch mechanism that stops it coming all the way through so the band still has to get over the wrist to come off completely which makes it very hard to drop off accidentally. No problems playing sport/school and even swimming in the surf.

This one from China was only a couple of bucks but delivery time frame was a month plus.

then bought the same but from local stock as needed short delivery time:
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/203525864421

Both highly recommended over the original strap for kids.

Is anyone able to comment on the screen visibility under strong outdoor sunlight?

I have a very old mi band 2 and even on a cloudy day, if you're outside, you just can't see your screen no matter what. Even if you shade the mi fit with your curled up hand.

    Are these definitely always visible?

    • +1

A billion times better than the 2.

You can set the brightness up and down - but there's no comparison. I made my mum throw her 2 away last week when i realised could barely read it in the dark.

    • I have a 5 and it ok.

      • +2

I've had the 2,4, 5 and now a 6. The 6 is my favorite, but has recently stopped counting laps when swimming…

        • It's really annoying that the heart rate monitor stops working when it's counting laps in swim mode = or is that just me?

    • As long as your brightness is up it’s fine. I tried with brightness down and it was harder to see so it’s turned up all the way and battery life still good (depending on what your settings are)

    • I use watch faces with white numbers because otherwise it's hard to see what's going on at a glance. (Using the Mi Band 5)

  • so everyone paid for shipping?

    • not me

    • The website says free shipping for orders over US$99 however this ends up being free at checkout as part of the promotion anyway.

      • good to know, thank you

  • +1

Anyone had bought anything from this seller? Are they trustable?

    • +5

      Are they trustable?

Why the Hekka are you asking?

  • Does this have a second counter? For timing heartbeats, etc.

    • The clocks do OR you could use the stopwatch.

      • Nice, yea want the clocks to have it. The old ones didn't have second counters

        • The originals do have the same. Miband 4 and 5 and both have clock with seconds and stopwatch. To be clear, it has a second hand.

  • +1

anyway of checking if these are genuine xiaomi

    • -3

not a chance are they genuine…

      • And how do you know this?

        • Just going by the amount of 30 odd dollar "Mi band 6 bargain" posts you see that never seem to go away.

          They cost around AUD$65

          • +2

@ZilogX: A$65 is wayyyy too much and it has only been around that mark once on OzBargain. Usually <A$50. The reason why this is much cheaper is because it's the CN version, it's not the NFC version (would be useless here anyway) and Hekka pulling a loss leader to bring traffic to their website.

            • @Clear: ok then I bow to your obvious wisdom

              • @ZilogX: I'm going to look really bad if I'm wrong about this. PayPal will take your side thankfully and it's been shared on a heap of other deal sites too.

      • +1

That's why you use PayPal so you're covered in case of issues…. :)

    • +2

Seems the box should have a serial number to authenticate on the xiaomi website https://www.mi.com/global/verify#/en/tab/secur

  • -1

I won't upgrade until NFC is included

It says it has MasterCard payments + built-in Alexa…

      • But we don't know if it's the global version or not. I think generally the NFC version is not available only if you can confirm it

        • +1

          Tried to Edit……
          Scrap the MasterCard idea….

          • @CereaL: Yep you've got that right. Alipay in China and those countries globally. It's not going to come to Australia.

            • @Clear: Thanks in that case NFC will not work any banks so forget it…

          • +1

@CereaL: BELARUSBANK for the win! 😂🤣😂🤣

  • how does this compare to Kmart Smart Fitness Tracker

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/smart-fitness-tracker---bla…

  • This or Huawei Band 6… ho hum.

    • +1

I know the deal has expired but you might want to check out this YouTube chap who tests these bands and found that Huawei is more accurate at Heart rate monitoring than the Xiaomi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDQzzyQFYQs&t=1074s

Using my Mi Band 5 and my Garmin heart rate monitor (Strap and Edge 705) I find the Mi Band 5 (Same accurate as the 6) is poor at accurate measurements. It can't register fast heart rate changes and does the 1/2 the actual rate on a regular basis. So if I go on a ride the heart rate might show 60 bpm while my Garmin is at 120.

  • Any accuracy reports of this model?

    • HRM is good, step counter is good, sleep is pretty good too (in terms of sleep and wake time only, can’t say for sleep cycles really). SpO2 seems good but again can’t verify.

Overall I think it’s good, it lasts about 4-5 days from full charge with all the bells and whistles on at about 3/5 brightness and doesn’t take long to charge either.

I don’t think it looks very fashionable though, if the face itself was wider slightly like the old Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro it’d look nicer.

      I mean for <$40 it’s a steal really.

Forgot to mention, one massive issue IMO for this band is if you use the timer it won’t show anything except for the timer lol. So you can’t view notifications or see the time, it stays on the timer until you cancel it lol.

  • If I'm looking for a smartwatch that is Mi Band 6 (cheap, reliable, Spotify control, great battery life), but also with preset replying capabilities on Whatsapp/SMS notifications, what watch would that be?

  • +1

    10-28 business days shipping FYI

  • It's showing up as USD$36.99 for me. Has this deal expired now?

  • One issue for the band people should know is if you use the timer you can’t do anything else on the band, you have to quit the timer so you can see the time, notifications etc. Same with the stopwatch. Kind of lame but the price for what you get is good.

  • They have the Mi Band 6 NFC version on now for $1 USD + 9.99 Delivery, but with 10 units left….idk if its a bug though

    • Not listed for me. My miband 6 from July just died an hour ago so looking for a cheap replacement.

  • +1

Anyone got any email response from them after your ordering? No email confirming my order, no shipping updates, nothing……

    • +1

Yes received an order confirmation email but no shipping yet. Check your junk folder?

      • Dropped them an email and got a response within 35mins with tracking#. Good customer service.

    • Same for me too. Got a confirmation email but no shipping email.

      • +1

I found that there is a link in the confirmation email that brings you to their website, and the tracking# is listed there.

Or as what I did just now, email them and they replied me with tracking#.

        • Thank you so much!
          I found it now.

  • New coupon code hekka11 for this item makes it US$28.99

    • Wonder if this includes free shipping like the BF deal

      • If you click on the link in this deal it now has this new offer & in the info it seems to indicate free shipping for the 1st one you order.

  • +1

    Got mine today, it's genuine

    • you got your already ?! wow ! thats quick !

mine still says - Shipping information approved by Australia Post

how long did it say for your tracking before physically posted?

      • Mine only shipped today (after being in Preparing Shipment) since the day after purchase.

Estimated 9-14 Dec delivery. I'm in VIC.

    • Mine arrived yesterday. Pretty happy with the shipping time.

  • Mine just arrived in rural Hamilton, New Zealand. Thanks OP.

  • Arrived today. Bought for my son as a watch.
Can't set it up so far though. The set-up (synced to iphone ) is working for the account , bluetooth seems ok, but I keep getting an error that my region isn't supported. Error on the ios app, just at the final step of set-up painfully.
I've changed the profile region from AU, to US UK, China, but had no success.
If anyone navigates and gets past the same issue, please let me know

    • Tried region as China and it looks to now work.
Hopefully the analysis on my optimal organs for harvesting isn't being conducted

  • Just got mine. What is the easiest way to tell if it is genuine?
It doesn't have the scratch off section mentioned on the Xiaomi website to verify authenticity.

    • Just got mine today, and it doesn’t look genuine. A real Xiaomi usually comes in pretty quality packaging. This was just in a thin cardboard box. Hmmmm!!

      • When I did a google search it says the genuine box is slightly rough (which it is) whereas the copy had smooth printing.
It looks the same as the genuine box (easy to copy that of course) but main concern is no scratch off code that is mentioned on the Xiaomi website - perhaps the Chinese version doesn't have this?
Anyone else have any feedback on the one they received or any way of telling if it is real?
Will a fake one work with the Xiaomi app?
