    In the market for a work from home laptop for running reports, a bit of light gaming etc. Was looking at AMD option but saw this deal. Wonder what's the AMD equivalent and value against this model. I can get edu price too.

    • Hard to compare this model to AMD. They do not offer a quad core H class CPU, nor a "high end" iGPU like Xe.

      On the other hand AMD's efficiency lead and the fact that this CPU probably won't sustain 5GHz turbo means it's probably about as fast a AMD U class.

      • The main differentiator for me is the Thunderbolt 4.

  • Good deal. I paid $10 less a few weeks ago but it only has a 512GB SSD. It's a solid laptop, well worth the price.

  • Funny enough, if you change the GPU to the MX450 and then go back to the Iris onboard graphics i drops to $1198.

    EDIT, ignore that, when you change the GPU it also drops the SSD down to 512gb so its bumping it back to 1tb it goes back to $1298

    • If I use this extra code plus cashback rewards and the payment through the Commonwealth bank (where I have an account) and they are offering a deal with Dell if I pay using the card… I will get cashback twice? I mean…
      If the price now will be reduced with your code discount and I use the link for the cashback rewards I will get back 12%… And if I pay using the card connected to my account I will receive another 10%…

      • You need to check if the code is permitted with Cashrewards/Shopback, and I couldn't see it. only a Meta7 for gaming devices. It should work with the CBA cashback if there is something there that you have.

        • How do I check if I will get the cashback or not when I finish the the order?

          • @danilogno: Check cashrewards dell page to see if the code is listed, if not its likely you wont get cashback if you use an invalid code.

            You may not be eligible for Cashback:

            If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.
            If a coupon code is used that is not listed on Cashrewards.

    • Should work; TB4 will charge and be an external monitor just fine.

    managed to get this laptop for $1105.39 with SPECIAL8F and opting for monthly premium subscription. If you don't need the 1 year premium support you can reduce the advertised price by $97.98 in the customization area by opting for monthly premium subscription however you have to cancel the auto-renewal after the laptop delivered. On top of that shopback currently has 12% cashback. mine is tracked as $120.59 bringing the total cost down to $984.90 so couldn't be happier!

    Note that the premium service extra on top of the basic service.

    • Hey, could you help me out please. I did what you said and subscribed to their monthly premium subscribtion. I got the laptop but cant work out how to cancel it? Thanks beforehand.

      • Unfortunately I'm having issue with it as well, it's not showing up in my digital locker so I cannot cancel it myself. I contacted customer care on 30th november and have been tossed around between different dept (customer care, tech support, pro support). No one knows how to do it so I complained to the customer care lead yesterday and she is looking into it now. I also mentioned to them that I've lodged a complaint to NSW Fair Trading. I am lucky as I made the purchase with a disposable virtual credit card so they won't be able to charge me anyway but I just want to officially cancel the subscription. Sorry if my suggestion has caused you a trouble. I'd suggest you to contact the customer care lead so it's being taken seriously.

          Thanks! Not your fault at all. Dell is horrible to do this. I already tried the chat and emailing them, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Let's keep in touch and see how / if we get some luck with this.

            • @roeh: Omg, dell is a nightmare, called the number that you are supposed to call to cancel the subscription, they transferred me somewhere else, then the sleepy lady there asked me if I called the original number? I was like yah. Then she transferred me to nowhere for 10 minutes before I hang up, there was complete silence the whole time I was being transferred.

              Going to report my card lost and forget about this hassle.

                @Navii: Happened to me as well. The CS lead emailed me on Friday, telling me that they are still looking into my case. I guess at this stage I can't be bothered anymore. Reporting your card as lost is a good trick..! That will solve the issue straight away :) I guess I've learned my lesson.. Will make sure to use a disposable virtual credit card for my next online shopping.

                @Navii: I have just received the email below, seems that they have managed to cancel the sub.

                Good day!

                As per the latest update from our internal team the monthly subscription is cancelled manually by the backend team.

                There has been some technical issue at the backend and hence it was not reflecting for cancellation by the front end teams in care and tech support.

                Meanwhile, they have confirmed that the warranty is cancelled manually.

                Kindly accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

                As the issue is resolved will proceed to close the case from my end.
