Seems like an over-engineered (and very expensive) solution to a problem that would just be solved by the practice you'd get from making coffee at home on a decent machine anyway?

    • Though, if you have a shoulder injury, this is probably a very handy thing. Can actually be injured if you do it manually a lot, though I believe there is correct form for tamping.

I only tamp once or twice a day myself, but if I had bursitis or some other shoulder condition, I know this would be handy. Can also help with consistency (though I think bed preparation is more important).

I do now, yes, but had a Rancilio Silvia with PID kit at the Rocky too for many years. Took a couple of day long barista training courses too back in the day, so my comment is based on experience, not just edgelording.

Seems like something only useful if you are making coffees commercially.

If your shoulder can't handle 1-2 tamps per day at home, making coffee is probably the least of your worries.

    • it's more about consistency than rsi

its really for busy cafes where you do it 300 times a day. pretty pointless for home for almost everyone
