  • Well overpriced compared to other companies, ask you way more questions than anyone else

I actually found them to be cheapest for me, I've been with them for about 3 years now, and every year before renewal I check prices of other companies and always return to Budget.

      • I currently have cua and pay around $60, their quote was $89 per month

Good deal but they are way too overpriced compared to other companies for me.

    • What are the other cheap providers? Not being sarcastic. But I've been with them few years and found they were cheaper compared to Aami, woolies etc. May be I'm not doing proper research.

      • Just got quote - dearer than current insurer Woolies even after $150!
Then Woolies offer far better discounts ($100 Rewards + 10% off once/mth).

  • I similarly have found them to be cheapest. Between them and Virgin, always able to get the gift cards and bump it cheaper.

  • Pass! Far too expensive for me.

Insured car with Budget Direct before joining OzBargain over 10 years ago. Now shop around for better offers.

Everyone's circumstances will differ - get your own quotes!

Just got a comprehensive car insurance quote - nearly $150/yr more expensive than Suncorp quote yesterday.

$190/yr more than price of current policy with Woolies.
Plus, taking out a new policy with Woolies using code in Deal gives $100 Rewards + 10% off Woolies shops once a month. Worth far more than $150 offered here.

    • BD was only $40 more expensive for me vs AAMI which was the best deal I could find (Woolies and Suncorp were way more).
So I cancelled AAMI and got on this for net $110 cheaper.

Cheaper - if you receive the $150

        • I received the $66 card last sale right on time so rolling the dice again. If they don't send it I'll go through Fair Trading for misleading conduct…

  • @OP does this work for current budget direct customers? I have an insurance with them which is due to renew soon..

I've gotten it to work by simply taking out a new policy starting the same date as old one expires.

      It won't work for renewals.
It won't work if you cancel existing just to take up offer.

But letting old policy lapse, ignore renewals and start new policy did work

  • I have 3 up for renewal. My PPOR was $180 Cheaper. 2 of my rentals over $1000 more each. I was really surprised at that.

Just insured my cat for $26 a month.

They used to offer $50 gift card after some days from quote, then I applied thorough that offer email. Some how didn't receive $50 gift card as they promised, gave couple of calls. It was a very bad experience. Finally end up with cancelling that policy.
So good luck with $150 gift card…

    • Same here. Never got the card.

      • ACCC is your friend.
If they get enough complaints for being dodgy they cop huge fines and have to lift their game

    • bdins.co/get-a-gift-card is link to the $50 gift card (pass 21 days cooling off period and eGC will arrive 30 days later)

  • Anyone got their giftcards yet?

  • Anyone know how to register the Gift Card, doesn't work on their online portal and their Customer Service is automated…

    • Their should be a link which takes you to the Visa online portal to register

      • That's what I've tried and it doesn't work :(

        • You can always try to request for a new one.
