This isn't a deal. Why not buy from apple education store using bigw apple 10% gift cards? You dont even need an edu email. $200 cheaper

    • $200 cheaper? https://www.apple.com/au-hed/shop/buy-mac/macbook-air has the cheapest MBA M1 for A$1,349.00. Minus 10% it's $1214.

      What am I missing?

      • Look at the my comment a bit further down, there is a cheaper site to use. That site shows a cheaper price than Costco EVEN WITHOUT getting discounted Apple cards, whereas your one requires that 10% to beat this deal.

    • I must have missed it - where do you get the 10% off gift card for apple?

      • Did you get an answer for this??

        • as lost as you are.

@Zachguan: Asked at BigW today and if you buy an Apple card it is a $6.95 charge to activate so it would only be an option when discounts do apply and the service desk said not very often to get the $200 ones.

    • Just wondering when or how often apple cards get discounted at bigw??

  • could you please explain more and add link to the store please?

  • Shit I just bought one from the Apple store

    • Um, and this isn't even the best deal.

        Thanks for the salt!

        • Come on, there must be a good reason and I believe you'll benefit from buying from the most expensive store. Somehow.

Meanwhile, hand in your OzB badge.

@pizzaguy: I did get a $140 voucher and used 5% discount gift cards. Can I keep the OzB badge?

            • +1
              • @pizzaguy: Phew!!! By the way pizza guy.. pineapple does not belong on pizza right?

                • @Master Haggler:

pineapple does not belong on pizza right?

                  That's a very personal question.

            • @Master Haggler: No, you need to refund and re-purchase (to get the cheaper price) to keep your OzB badge.

But who cares about OzB badge? It keeps draining money out of your wallet and credit card(s).

              • @netsurfer: Nope, I have been excused by the pizza guy. All good.

                • +1

@Master Haggler: You get one more Apple badge. Welcome to the dark side.

Once you have the Apple badge, your OzB badge is automatically invalided. You will never be able to leave the Apple world now. Dongle shopping next I guess.

More joking around, pizzaguy might need to hand in his OzB badge as he did not provide the cheapest OZB deal. Should be $1,294.70 before even using any Apple cards.

  • Anyone could help what is the lowest acceptable spec for an old MacBook air? Thank you

    • The main reason you would do that is if running bootcamp is really important OR there is a Mac app that you MUST use and is buggy with running M1 with Rosetta2.

You really need a compelling reason to get an old Intel CPU based Macbook Air. The only other possible exception is that MBA is someone dirt cheap and in very good condition.

  • Just bought from Apple Edu store @ $1349
-Citi Credit card to buy Apple gift card at Big W
($67.5 cash back and $135 worth Woolies rewards point- effectively $1150)
Cashback at Cashrewards- Hopfully another $100 off as site says Gift cards accepted.
