Not sure if it's the cheapest ever but I haven't seen this cheaper than $96 before.

You can drive any MIDI device but this interests me as it has 9 faders.

If you combine OBS, Voicemeeter *** and an OBS plugin called OBS Voicemeeter you can control all 8 audio outputs of Voicemeeter using the faders. OBS Voicemeeter allows you map any of the Voicemeeter hardware outs to any number of OBS sources. Which frees up virtual IO apart from anything else but also means you control OBS volumes from the fader.

*** or preferably Macrobuttons, Voicemeeters native macro controller.

You can create a 8x8 button map for Macrobuttons to match the 64 buttons of this device if you like. This means you have 64 hardware buttons to control Windows, OBS and Voicemeeter as well as 9 faders. For 82 bucks :D

MIDI controller -> Macrobuttons -> Voicemeeter -> OBS.

If none of this makes sense basically its doing what a Streamdeck does with some technical setup. Just MIDI control is very easy (choose what you want to control and press the button/fader for example) but scripting Macrobuttons is a bit more challenging although it's easier than basic coding. You gotta read the manual is all.

Currently using a MIDI controller for Photoshop and Lightroom. Life changing!

Interesting! How do you hook it up?

Using an open source program called Midi2LR.

I use a Behringer xTouch Mini (was $80ish off Amazon a year ago), seems to be the most popular and cheapest option for most photographers.

Lots of YouTube videos walking through the process.

Ah ok. I use Affinity rather than Adobe, but I might have a search for some more generic equivalents. Thanks for the idea!

  • A bit more expensive but very cool controllers

    • No doubt very cool, but 4-10x the price.

3 camels says this is the lowest ever (since 2019).

  • Anyone know how well it goes with other DAWs?

    • Bit late reply (sorry), but reviews seem to suggest it is designed for Ableton and doesn't work well with other DAWs. I don't see why it can't be re-programmed/re-mapped though. Those reviews put me off buying it.

  • Great, my wife and I were looking to sweet music together.
