Anyone seen the Halo elite series 2 controller up for grabs?

    • +2

eBay/gumtree/marketplace I am afraid. You can try refresh MS, they sometimes have stock, but I believe it's all camped by those bots

MS is selling at 99.95 and you can easily get 10% Xbox gift card from shopback. Make it 89.95. if your Amazon gift card is over 4.5% off, then go for it. Otherwise MS saves you couple of dollars.

Actually cashback also tracks even using gift card. The reason I didn't put that on is my cashback has not confirmed yet, could end up ineligible. But it does tracks

No, he's better than a wizard.

        He's an ozbargainer.

  • Man, these things are way too expensive for how quickly the joysticks start to fail

I don't game much these days but I've been gaming since the PS3 days (PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo switch + pro controller, xB Series X, PS5), to date never had a single instance of controller failure beyond a creaky trigger on Xbox One.

      • Similar experience apart from I had joycon drift which is well known.

      • PS3 controllers 🔥🔥 PS4 💩💩 👎👎 broken trigger buttons (3x), thumbsticks ripped apart.

        360/xb1 controllers 🔥🔥🔥.

Casual gamer. You must of been lucky with PS4 or I must of been very unlucky. Doing a Google search tho, many people have had issues with PS4 . Not just my luck it seems

      • Same. Until PS4 controllers. Had three controllers have drift within months or minutes of use. Shit sucked. So far the PS5 controllers have been good to me. Also had Switch pro controller drift, too. You can’t have drift on $100 controllers… I could understand if these were $30 off brand cheapo versions. But they’re official first party coming out with borderline junk. PS3 didnt have these problems.

    • I had a Dualsense start drifting within a week of purchase. That was the only disappointing experience I've had so far.

      • Damn those controllers are pricey too. Awesome though. I wish the Xbox controller could do what the PS one does.

    • mine started to act funny after 10 months. sent to microsoft for repairs… whole process took around 2 weeks.

  • Fml bought from eb cos this was oos. Didn't think it'd be back. Oh wells there goes 5 bucks.

Now to find an Xbox sx…

  • I did the EB pre-order swapped an Xbox one controller that had issues and paid $58 for mine

    • I did the same, also did for the forza controller as well.

    • Did the same, I preordered 2x and traded 2x.

Only cost me $50.40 each for a total 100.80 out of pocket.

  • The design of this new Xbox controller it’s really annoying while press the buttons. It has loud click’s sounds compare to last generation. Personal I prefer last generation controller.

$94 pickup from BigW, great for those with access to 10% off staff discount.

    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/xbox-wireless-controller-20t…

    • If you bank with Commonwealth there's also an offer on the app to get a $20 voucher for Big W that can go towards a $50+ spend.

      • Must be targeted, I don't see that.

  • Tempting, but need to save up for the ridiculously expensive XBox expansion card.

    • -1

Crazy stupid overpriced. At least PS5 has options.

    • Doesn't an external SSD plugged in work just as well, instead of the expansion card?

      • +1

Not for Series S|X enhanced games… Microsoft keep "enhancing" some older games. I already put a lot of enhanced games on an external HDD, but I cannot play them until I move them back to internal SSD. About to move flight sim to HDD to free up more internal SSD space.

      • Not quite. It can store games but you need to run all the series x games on the internal hard drive. Games for xbox one can run of an external no dramas. But any game optimised for series x etc need to run of the the internal or the expansion drive from Microsoft. You cam move games across from the internal to any expansion drive either normal or ssd. Hope that made some sense
