Not sure if it's a mistake, but only the S21 Plus is currently $500 off RRP on the Samsung website. This can be stacked with the trade in bonus of $300, and the usual vouchers ($150 or $250).

This assumes you are not returning the phone you are using for trade in. This works out to be the same as this popular deal.

Alternatively, if you have a CDS loyalty voucher, you can use that in place of the EDS and get an extra $100 off. The vouchers are supposed to expire in 30 days (newsletter) and 7 days (EDS, CDS), but I have had months old ones work fine at checkout.

Sale Price - $500 off RRP discount
This is the current sale price. You don't have to do anything to get this discount.

Trade In - $300 bonus discount
You have to apply to do a trade-in to obtain this discount. That means downloading the trade-in app on an eligible phone, entering credit card details and getting the trade-in number to enter at checkout. You do not have to actually send it in when time comes. Based on previous experiences, you will not have to pay back the $300 discount (or any administration / penalty fees), but will have to repay the trade-in value of your phone.

Newsletter Signup - $50 MA code
Sign up for the Samsung newsletter via the banner at the bottom of the page. You can email [email protected] to get a manually generated code if you never get the email.

Chat Code - $100 EDS code
Request via green circle chat icon that appears at the bottom right of the page. Mention you want to upgrade your Samsung phone and could they help lower the price since your phone has a trade-in value of $0 because it's broken.

Loyalty Voucher - $200 CDS
Note that you either use this or the EDS code, as they reportedly no longer stack.
Request via email to [email protected]. Provide photos of a broken S20 series Samsung phone, including front with IMEI showing on screen and back. Give them a week to respond, though it's supposed to be a response within 48 hours.

        • so many uncertainty with this, so I might give it a miss. It is a deal breaker if Samsung charge us for that $300 trade-in bonus, that's the big kicker there.
          $899 price tag is less enticing.

            @jamessong: they def wont charge the $300 bonus, thats only in the faq not t&c's. at most they will charge an extra $60 admin fee.

  • Whenever I try to enter my trade in ID i am getting the service unavailable message. Its been going on for 2 days now. Is there a way to fix this?

    • Because it's not eligible. Iphone 7 is on the other hand.

    The TradeUp app states:
    Device is not returned $180,
    Device is not eligible $180
    Physical damage $180

    Are these new? If so, it's not worth for $300 bonus but not sending the phone. eBay, Gumtree can fetch more than TradeUp's quote.

      Mine showed the same ($20 for my S8+). I interpreted as in TradeUp will charge you the assessed value of your phone (in your case $180) if you don't return it; or you return it and it has physical damage.

      Essentially its a net $0 if you go down this path as Samsung actually give you $300 bonus plus $180 value of the phone. But as stated, if you don't return it you'll just pay the $180 back (hence net $0)

          Plus $60 admin fee. So you will get $60 discount ($300 - $180 - $60 = $60).

  • As per section 6.2 debit card will not work, code will be not validated at checkout screen, i missed the deal for Fold 3 with the same reason :(

    If it relies on the assumption that I have something worth $300 to trade, and that I haven’t already used the newsletter sign up bonus, then I’m not really getting the phone for $599.

      • They send instructions via email . It is a return label to take to Auspost.

    • The device would still be fully functional. However, you will be charged back the value of the device.

    • Yes, I did. I need to go back and choose the online option. It required me to enter my credit card detail. I waited few minutes after that, and my code worked.

    • S21 Plus is better than Note10 Plus in most aspects except screen resolution.

      S8 Plus, S9 Plus, Note 10 Plus - Plus was the old naming for the most premium models. It's now Ultra so you should compare your Note10 Plus with S21 Ultra.

  • $185 return with S10 5G, but the trade-up app won't let me verify credit card details (tried 3 different cards, visa and MS, all failed). Also can't get anybody on Samsung chat. Had window open for 6hrs yesterday and 3hrs so far this morning. Also been waiting 2 days for $50 newsletter signup and nothing yet…working well so far.

      You can say your phone is water damaged and cannot be turned on. Or charging port is damaged so phone cannot be charged.

      They basically just need a photo of the front and back. Mainly the back where they can see the IMEI number.

    • Once you get your new phone, you will received an email from Samsung with instruction to return your old device in 7 days.

  • So i tried asking for an EDS code. The live chat said they won't give it out unless it's an old samsung phone that is like "10 years old".

    Also, if there is physical damage, and the estimate value is 0, is it still possible to trade it in and get the discounts? TIA.

      just keep trying for eds code and say u know a friend who >bought an s21 series< using a chat code.

      for the trade in discount, just say your phone is in perfect condition considering your not sending it in anyway

      For Flip 3, EDS and Trade-in Bonus cannot be stacked now and $50 can't be applied just for phone purchase.
