From the title; These ultra boards cook. The pro/master/elite versions are warm but no where near the ultra and vision temps. Some reviews say up to 120 degrees…

That being said this is cheaper and a better deal with a way better board:
    https://www.msy.com.au/online/cpus/3294-intel-11th-gen-core-… $779
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669272 $199.00
    Total: $978.00

Can you sharpen your pencil ? 🙂

  • yeah i got it mixed up, you were right about reviews on the pro, apparently it cooks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ULQjJtHfPA. Here's where the guy says its up to 120. He bangs on so you may want to skip through.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gigabyte-z590-vision-g/… this one cooks, i was going to buy it.

that said though, I have 2 x z590 pro (needed the nvme slots) with i9-11000's running bog standard and dont see those temps. I also have a couple of elites with i9-10900 and that runs a lot cooler.

    • Yeah matches with what I heard with the Pro having a somewhat poor design while the Ultra (one tier above the Pro) and above models were ok. Even on the Pro the design flaw shouldn't have any significant effect on performance if you're using your computer like a normal person (i.e. not overclocking to the max and running non-stop stress tests)

Probably not the greatest buy as you can get a 11900k for $689 from centrecom and a decent board of your choice for around $150 to $200

11 series is a waste of sand according to Steve

Would rather get an i5 12600KF paired with a Z690 DDR4 board and it'd still be cheaper than this.

The i7-12700K beats the previous gen i9-11900K in pretty much every single benchmark by a considerable margin, and available for around $670 (Amazon), you can get a compatible Z690 D4 WiFi motherboard for around $350. So why would anyone want to buy a slower performing last gen CPU/MB combo for the same price?

  • Where are the AMD combo deals? :(
