  This reminds me of when I worked for HN back in 2016/17. They would put instore promotions for bonus products like this but keep a cost price on POS for the free item, meaning the prop wasn’t the one really wearing the cost, it was the minimum wage staff who had their commission reduced. This may not have been standard across franchises but my first prop there loved to inflate cost prices on the system so he could steal commission from us.
