The same people who think covid vaccinations have a microchip to track you.

I guess these people think the goverment is horrendously over staffed and have lots of money to pay people a boring job to watch people do normal human things.

    • It used to be a thing. A computer would get a virus and it'd record the webcam, and if it caught them masturbating to porn the operator of the virus would try to blackmail them. Nowadays they've realised it's cheaper and easier to just blast out spam emails saying they hacked your computer and recorded you masturbating, and send x bitcoin to this address to prevent its release.

    • You've forgotten what it was like to be a nerd in highschool :p

Messin with your classmates in any way possible was always a thing.

Msn messenger and cameras were hilarious days.

  • Does anybody know how this webcam would stack up against a known brand like logitech?

  • How is the microphone? Is it better than the laptop one? I just need something to do the video conferencing without open up the laptop.

  • Still yet to find a webcam that has a narrower field of view - the only one I've found is Brio (& one model down). For WFH video conference calls really don't need to have the whole room in view & wide angle distortions.

I just crop it in OBS

      • good point - these days I use an old mirrorless & HDMI -> USB with OBS, but could have done it with the webcam.
