      Doubt it. The patent that was released suggests the cameras are built into the headset for tracking. 2 at the front and one at the rear. Tracking has advanced considerably and most VR headsets have moved away from static receivers now.

      Inside-out tracking. Sony said: “The VR controller is tracked by the new VR headset through a tracking ring across the bottom of the controller.” This implies that the VR headset has sensors, which means it uses inside-out tracking.

      Considering you need an adapter to use the PSVR on the PS5 (to use the PS4 camera), I don't think it will be used for any kind of VR. It cannot even be used for the current PSVR on the PS5, and as mentioned already, the comments from Sony have, so far, pointed towards inside-out tracking, which is pretty much the norm now days.

        Good point on the PS5 camera not even working with current PSVR. That cements it even further for me.

        Essentially PS5 camera is useless for anything other than streaming. Cannot even use it on a PC I believe. Probably a third party driver out there though.

      I finally got my hands on the aim controller for PSVR, they better at least release a PS5 variant of this if the PS4 one doesn't work 😭

  I bought this and then realised you can't use it for in game voice chat like you used to be able to do with the PS4 and it's camera. So basically just sits there now as dead weight.

    You can strem yourself at 1080p now? 😬 - time to become a content creator for just long enough to get the ad revenue/subscriptions to pay this off, then quit. It's the only next move.

  I naturally thought this would work with Just Dance but I was supprised to find that it has no other function other than as a streaming camera. I wonder how many of these things they sell to people who think they will work with games because surely there just aren't that many people who want to stream to justify Sony making them.
