I have this router and solid performance. Never drops out. Very stable. Highly recommended.

    • I just ordered 1, do U know if it work well with other non Asus mesh points or repeaters?

      • Not sure about that one, my house is small, don't have a mesh.

      • It should work with a standard WiFi repeater. But you (will probably) get better value out of meshing it with some other Asus routers..

  • How’s this compare to the 86U?

      Great breakdown here - https://dongknows.com/wi-fi-6-routers-compared-asus-rt-ax86u...

Summary, ax86u has a faster 2.4ghz channel (same speed for 5ghz but looks like the faster cpu helps throughput), has a 2.5Gb wired port, has an extra USB port and faster hardware (slightly faster, probably to deal with the extra stuff onboard as listed).

However the ax82u has the most important feature, front gaming LEDs. Who needs features when you can have shiny?

IMO unless you can find the 86u for under $350 (the price difference is only meant to be $20US), I'd go the 82u if you need a router right now.

  • Anyone knows if these work well with Oculus Quest 2 Airlink ? I understand Airlink requires AX routers and this one is, but not so confident it will work with all AX's.

  • Is there anyone which is valuable between Xiaomi ax3600 and Asus AX-82u?

  • How does this compare to the Tp link archer ax73. Only coz I have a tp link wifi extender that supports one mesh. Still deciding, roughly same price.
