  • Does this have ANC

    • No they don't. They depend on the rubber seal to keep external sound out

  • Between this Samsung buds which I can buy for $87 and SoundPeats Truefree 2 which is selling for $35 at Amazon, is the Samsung worth the price difference?

    • +1

Depends on if you will take calls on them.

From experience, soundpeats are absolutely atrocious. People were always commenting on the couldn't hear me or it was really loud where I was. For that reason alone I am buying my second set of buds+ from this deal.

For music though the soundpeats are acceptable, but I found the fit not as good as the buds+ with their fins.

    • call quality is an issue with soundpeats, they are not "okay" in noisy areas. I have both truefree 2 and H1.

So would if be a good idea if we
    1. Went to Coles
    2. Bought a $100Ultimate Home Kids Gift Card
    3. Go to JB HiFI
    4. Ask for the salesperson to apply 92BOYS3V75I19K to the order to get the price of $107.10
    5. Use the $100 GC from Coles
    6. Pay balance using card/cash

This should save us $15 straight off, right?

    • +1

It should yes, as long as you can get the GC and also JB has stock :)

      • Cheers mate. All the kids GCs are OOS ar my local store.

    • +1

This is what I did. Ended of paying just 92.10 which is great!

  • Does anyone have any experience with using these for running?
I've always had issues with earbuds staying 'sealed' in my ears as well as the right bud losing connection intermittently.
    Cheers.

    • I use the original one for gym and they work great! Never falls out my ear and battery last a very long time.
I have the + for sleeping and they also work great.

      • Thanks Koipanda

    • You will want some type of active earbud for running, ideally with a hook onto your ear. These buds are susceptible to sweat, earwax, etc.

I used a pair of these in gym where I sweated a lot and one side got blocked and was a huge pain in the ass cleaning it, and upon Googling I found its a common issue and they are not designed for this.

      • Thanks flooressence.

  • Can you use the coupon code in store?

    • Yep, see description here.

    • went in store and they told me it expired yesterday though I can still use it online

      • No way, they are valid until close of trade on the 12th, December.

If they are manually entering the code, rather than scanning the barcode, then they need to prefix it with a hash character (#).

        • so code no longer valid in store yeah?

          • @DarkProject: Why?
It should definitely be valid in store; they just need to enter the code correctly or scan the barcode. The email I got has a clear expiry of the 12th for both in store and online.

            • @affinity: Yeah I dunno, the guy just said the code expired yesterday and that was that. Might try again

      • purchase it online and pickup at your local jb store, hassle free

        • i'd do that but these damn gift cards say you have to use in store

      • Got told the same in the store in springfield QLD. Did not want to argue with the staff. Well… instore gf card sucks.

        • If you can, try another store. Went to another one and they gave me the discount.

          • +2

@DarkProject: Didnt want to drive another 30mins for a chance of $12 discount..

  • Got one hopefully its better. I have QCY and its good but not long battery.

I paid 150 for them on Black Friday (already very discounted).
I can't recommend these buds enough. They sound fantastic once you get the right tips and gave very nifty features such as the beta where you tap the outside of the ears to change volume. I just wish there was a way to disable double and triple taps, but you eventually get used to manipulating them right as to avoid accidental tapping.
They don't have active noise canceling, but I realy don't miss it. Instead they have a very decent transparency mode that I find more useful to avoid getting run over while walking around the city. I actually set the long press to activate this mode, as I already have the volume by tapping the ears.

  • Silly question, but I believe Samsung locks out some features and customising if you aren't using a Samsung Device.

If I'm using an OPPO will I be able to take full advantage of the features that these buds offer?

    • The Galaxy Wearables app is available on the play store for most Android devices, so you should be able to take full advantage of it.

I think the only thing you can't do, once the firmware is updated, is automatically switch between two devices. I read a review and the guy switched between his Dell laaptop and his OnePlus 7 Pro mobile. Without the update, it was painful as you had to turn off BT from the losing device to pair again with the gaining device, now less painful as you only have to connect with the gaining device and the losing device will drop off. So, still a bit painful for multi device use.

I tried this device switching between the Dell XPS 13 2in1 (7390) and the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the experience is much more convenient. It isn’t true “multi-point” connection wherein the Buds+ would switch over to the active audio source automatically. I wouldn’t also call it “seamless” since you do need to fiddle with source devices. But it certainly removes the pain of pairing again and again simply for switching between devices. Considering how good the Buds+ are for voice calls, having this functionality is really handy when jumping between devices.

Definitely worked fine. I went in to a store, bought 2 of these plus 1 S Pen Pro, got each discounted to $116 before 10% on all three items; then paid mostly with 15% off GC ($300 worth) and the remainder with a JB GC that has a small balance left now.

The coupon code wasn't a problem in store whatsoever; well, the checkout person scanned the code before scanning the sales docket, so it didn't work then, reversing the order was all good. Deal made in store, coupon applied, payment in person. I also got a $10 coupon to use later, in store, up to I think the 23rd December.

A good video about how to use these showed how to disconnect from BT so that it could be paired with another device; long hold both left and right touch pads to disconnect and the other device will then see the device to connect to — perhaps this was just for the "wear app".

I already have these but these are a great price for some solid ear buds.

  • Page throws up a 404 now

    • Annoying, was planning to get it today. :(

      • I was on the way to a store & when they pulled the offer. (It literally disappeared in front of my eyes. I clicked through once, it's there. Navigated away from that page, clicked through again & it'd disappeared.)

There is still stock on the shelf just at the full RRP. We'll, at least I didn't go there just for this. Kicking myself for not putting in a click & collect order (because I wanted to use an in-store only gift card) though.

        • The way it was disappearing from shops, it was pretty clear this was now a "clearance" item, but still very good for what it is and the price was very much good for this.

          • @affinity: But the price tag in store isn't showing a "clearance" price either. Was not in a mood to argue especially when I didn't have any screenshot of the discounted price.

  • After few days of use I have been experiencing connection drops frequently (3 - 4 times for an hour of use). It connects again automatically but it's very annoying. I have tried resetting it and unpaired it but it seems to help initally only. The buds firmware have been updated during the first setup. My phone is Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro with the latest firmware.
Did anybody experience the same issue? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    • +1

Try a different app, see if the same issue occurs.
      Try another phone.
Unpair, restart both devices, then re-pair.

    • +1

From the sounds of other people's comments this is uncommon, if you've tried everything lordra said above then it's not unlikely you got a dud and might want to see if you can exchange or return it.

  • Anyone else got a refund? Received an email saying its oos and I'll get a refund instead. Far out.

    • The way I saw this going, I wasn't going to simply order online, I went in to a store with stock; now no store has stock. As I said previously, this really looked like a clearance of this product. So, I guess a new version will be out soon, or the remaining other versions might be all that they sell (Pro and Live for instance).

      • I see. In saying that, Harvey and his other companies are selling the white one. I'm just worried those are imports.
