      If you have amex cards, look out for the Ampol statement credits. That's when I usually load up on Amazon credit at ~14% discount.

          Just a heads up that a lot of Ampol / Caltex locations only stock AmpolCash / Caltex StarCash physical gift cards or prepaid SIM cards. I visited six Ampol / Caltex locations in the last month or so when I was stocking up on discounted AmpolCash / Caltex StarCash physical gift cards, and only one location sold Amazon gift cards.

    Just found out that
    1. Gift card value won't be reinstated in the event of cancellation even the host agrees to do so
    2. Airbnb gift cards cannot be used on stays longer than 28 days

    Please go ahead if you don't mind the above. It's a skip for me.

      Just found out that
      1. Housing stock lost to full time Airbnb is significant and will not be reinstated.
      2. In the event of using Airbnb local residents are negatively impacted, housing prices get jacked up, and despite a possible 10% or more off gift cards those buying a home will likely get jacked in the long run.

      Agreed, we have several of us in the house order the same thing and some of us had vouchers 25% off etc. Our prices ended up being only a few cents different because the ones that used vouchers had higher service fee to make up for the "discount"

      Doordash is shady.

    I have a trip booked for the first week of Jan, I’ve paid the deposit and have $1200 scheduled to charge my CC in 2 weeks. Just confirmed via live chat that Airbnb cards can’t be used to pay the remaining balance for upcoming trips, only new bookings

          I just checked my upcoming booking and it allowed me to use a gift card balance. You have to add the gift card first in your account. Then it will show as available in payment options for upcoming trips.

        Here's my recent experience: Once the giftcards are redeemed in Airbnb, they became credits in my account for which I used towards my second payment. (if you have credits when making a payment, Airbnb will ask you if you want to select them to use)

      Just tried for a booking I have around Xmas - applied the gift card to my account then went to the "Review your payment details" for the booking and was able to select Manage Gift Credits then apply the GC balance to the booking.

    For Airbnb once you have a giftcard log into account and apply the credit to the account. When paying for any booking (even existing that has a payable balance) can use credit, need to check the box or turn the tab to green for applying existing credit.
