    Totally not worth it.
I could spend $1782 to get 97,500 pts (65,000 pts + 32,500 bonus pts) OR
I could pay $170 annual fee ($425 - $255) for a new ANZ credit card, spend $3000 on purchases and get 100,000 pts.

Funny how the value of a point to redeem for flights is around 0.66c but to buy them is as much as 5.6c (for geting 1000). Even if you spend $4k you only get 225k points with this deal @1.78c each! Total rip off

  • Cost per point is between 1.8c and 2.8c. Advertising, yes. Bargain, no.

  • Still a better deal to buy an excessive amount of wine from QANTAS Wine and negotiate more points…

    • You can negotiate points?

Really depends how much you buy. Once I wanted to do Business return to LA and it was round 400k + $900 taxes for 2 people at the time.

I bought 20x of the 20,000 point deals of wine - worked out to around $6k AUD + taxes for the flights and ended up with 20 dozen bottles of wine also (great for gifts)

But yeah, i added the order to my cart and thought it over for a few hours - QANTAS wine called me about my live cart and I got 600k points out of them for the order.

This is ridiculous: 15000 points cost $388. Last night I bought some Qantas wine for $360 and this has a bonus 15000 points plus whatever cc I use. I will have more points, 12 bottles of wine and this costs me less !!!

    • was that a targeted offer? I wouldn't mind some wine if that offer is still available
edit: nvm I can see some of the offers there now

    1c/point in the forums ;)

That is against T&C and you can potentially lose them all, like it happened to other Ozbargain users.

      • correct, and I don't do it
