From my past experience, if you want to calling Telstra during X'Mas to cancel your order because Telstra automatically stuffed up your shipping address.. go for it…

    • This (profanity) happened to me!

      Arghhhh, I should have listened.

  • +3

C’mon, make Telstra Day great again!

  • +11

I love it how Luke gets less and less enthusiastic each month when posting the deals.. possibly due to the fact that Telstra stuff up a huge amount of orders each and every time and all complaints fall on deaf ears ?

Or it could just be that these deals aren't event that great to start off with

    • +1

      Both.

      • Hopefully someone or someones is learning from there mistakes 👍😁

@Nitrous: Actually some existing Telstra customers got great compensation/discounts on there current plans for Telstras big blunders on these past previous Telstra day deals

edit: compensation/discounts some got in the 100s of $$

            • +1

@Italkdigital: hey man would you mind giving more detail?

I made 5 orders online all went through okay. I checked in the chat first - is there a limit? Can I buy 6 - yes no problems.

5 go through 1 causes a system block… In store they later tell me 5 online is limit… okay great. but was told it was fine so tried the same order 5 times online - big mistake :)

Telstra tells me my account has a block on it … but will be fixed… but in the mean time please pay cash for everything… lol

2-3 months later go to telstra shop and go to buy something.

DO NOT SELL in Red pops up on my account. Staff are confused… running around. Fraud alert…. DO NOT SELL is the highest warning they can get the staff and credit team inform me… Great… so I paid cash… $4000 dollaroos to telstra and they put me on a DO NOT SELL list lol.

I even waited 2 months for the phones to arrive.

Got nothing… they said they fixed the block but had to lodge a TIO dispute last week to see if I can get it fixed. Crazy

I paid outright for 5 phones… so not sure what they are even worried about.

              • @AussieMark: I only bought 2 mobiles,.. one arrived in 2 days which showed in stock when I did the order the second one I ordered showed out of stock and took 4 weeks or more to deliver, interesting to hear what happens if one orders 6 🤑 thanks for letting us all know 👍

              • @AussieMark: And some customers who ordered a mobile who got delayed dramatically with delivery got compensation/discounts to there existing Telstra plans
Find the posts for those that hassled Telstra for compensation

  • Oppo A94 is currently $499 till 25 Dec 2021. Still, Telstra is advertising $200 off from $599. Deals are pretty average this time.

  • Now I feel sorry for Luke……

  • Outright or with the plan???

  • 900 pixel is not bad no?

    • +1

their own preorder price was cheaper ($200 off all RRP), even though it needed 1 month plan it was still cheaper than these prices.

  • +3

Good deal for pixel if can combine with free fitbit sense?

  • "we've also got deals for new fixed consumer and small business internet customers."

I just lol'd. Does "deal" mean something else in Telstra vocabulary?

  • @lukehopewell, you forgot to add $699 iPhone 12 Mini.

  • +6

when posting on OZB, you cannot hopewell that it is a bargain. You need to be suregood

  • +2

September 2021 had the best deals, $624 for S21, bring that deal back.

  • +1

hardly can convince any OzBargainers here to spend at those prices, pass

  • +2

pixel 6 pro deal would have been good.

  • +3

hardly a deal, samsung has been much cheaper. First few Telstra day offers were great but not for last few months.

  • +1

Would've thought everyone had a samsung already with all the crazy trade in deals recently.

  • +8

S21 was $624 back in September Telstra Day

    • Got one for my mum during the sale, bargain at that price.

  • +2

Bring back iPhone 12 mini deal

  • +1

You have to got Telstra plan, so it is not a deal

    • No you don't have to got a Telstra plan lol, I just tested an order on Telstras website, just follow comments below if you want to purchase a mobile outright off Telstras online website👍😁

      • -1

When I check Telstra website, it clearly state that

Save xxx when you add to an eligible mobile plan.

        • Why you adding an eligible mobile plan? Don't add a plan and check out,..

(hit OUTRIGHT button & skip/don't hit SELECT plan button, scroll to bottom of webpage and hit NEXT button) if you want to purchase a mobile outright

  • +1

Anyone who's never ordered a mobile on Telstra or Telstra day,..

    OUTRIGHT ORDERS follow instructions below

Don't forget don't click/choose any "plans button" on any plans (hit OUTRIGHT button & skip/don't hit SELECT plan button) if you want to purchase a mobile outright, just skip that part and scroll too bottom of webpage and click the NEXT button or whatever button needed to click to go to next webpage or the/a Plan will be added to your order, you don't want that, ""you might"" have too sign up for a Telstra account to finnish off order but if I remember from last deal you don't have too,.. can anyone comment on this from Telstras last Telstra day deals?👍😁

Edit: warning too some mobiles are on back-order,.. S21 256gb for example

  • No S21 Ultra and 6 Pro Ehh

  • +1

are these phones unlocked when sold outright ? or locked to Telstra? looking at Samsung Galaxy A52s

    • Yes on the high end mobiles S21 and Pixel 6 but good question for the A52 Samsung models can anyone comment?

    • Got one today. Confirmed from online chat and in person in store its not locked.

      • I'm guessing you bought an unlocked A52?

  • +1

Previously when I ordered an iphone 12 mini with the first Telstra day deal they sat on the pending order for weeks before calling me leaving a message saying they now have no stock and cancelled the order.

    Beware when you order

    • I had to wait weeks for the S21 256gb version on a previous Telstra day deal (which currently shows pre-order for this current Telstra day deal) but I did eventually get it I think took around 4 weeks to receive after ordering and my non pre-order (in-stock) S21 came in 3 days so best order early for the current in stock mobiles,.. one can actually check now on Telstra webpage if certain mobile models are in stock 👍😁

      • i got mine in 6weeks:p

  • +1

How much is the s21 fe gonna be on release?

  • +1

Do people think Officeworks would do their price beat guarantee on these deals tomorrow?
    Looking to get an A52s.

    • +1

Looking at previous telstra day deals some people had success and others got rejected by OW.
Guess I'll try my luck tomorrow morning.

  • disappointed me every months

  • +3

Will there be additional coupon discounts for telstra plans at jb hifi?

  • -1

I wouldn't call any of these deals

  • +1

I'm tempted to get the S21 but also reluctant knowing it was cheaper before ($624 for 128gb, $672 for 256gb) but missed out thinking I HAD to be a telstra customer…

With the S22 most likely released in early 2022 I'm hoping the S21 will be cheaper and that there's another S21 deal that's closer to what it had been previously. Seriously why is the price more than last time…? I know -$500 is a lot but as an Ozbargainer I would've hoped for a better deal down the track let alone matching a previous price.

    • One of those things,. wait and try your luck in Jan 2022 before the S22 and S21 FE are released in Jan/Feb, well one word assume the new S22 coming out would drop the prices on the S21 range,.. though it could do the opposite as prices on the S21FE/S22 line could be very expensive on release,. depends how good the S22 is over the S21 etc,.. and what stock is left on the S21,. will S22s get delayed in shipping, who knows, well interesting times during this covid situation?

Edit: I was lucky too get 2x S21 256gb versions at $672 on a previous Telstra day and I still haven't stuck them on eBay as yet, hoping prices will go higher as we head towards Christmas lol

    • @spicy tomato why not go for S21 + for $599 currently?

Just find a $5 or $20 phone you can trade in

      • Trade in? With whom?

  • +1

Do you know if these deals are available in store?

"We also have two-hour free delivery in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Just order your new device and accessories on a plan from participating Telstra Stores and you can take advantage of having it in your hand within two hours."

2 Hour delivery not so good in Perth.

    • +1

Here is Ozbargain past similar Telstra day deal (with S21 256gb version @ $672),.. I've scrolled through up to page 3 to 4 and gave up and didnt see anyone who bought a mobile outright without having to join a plan to buy it in store, well your post/comments suggests buying in store on a plan only and then waiting 2 hours for delivery, can anyone clarify this?

Edit: 2 hours free delivery for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne only 👎🤣 though I'm sure close to next day delivery for other states?

Can we get a price match at jb with this?

  • +1

    goodbye !

  • Are these phones unlocked when sold outright ? or locked to Telstra? No clear info on Telstra Websitee.

    • High end phones like the S21, Iphones and Pixel 6 are never locked by the Telco carrier anymore and I'm sure same applies for the midrange mobiles also, usually they advertise a mobile is locked rather then being unlocked and usually applies to bottom range mobiles being locked even when purchasing outright, they'll have titles like Telstra Alcatel X1 prepaid mobile or Vodafone Samsung Galaxy A20 mobile phone

      Examples at Harvey Norman,..
      https://www.harveynorman.com.au/phones-accessories-gps/phone…

Also check out the OPSs link as in description of Telsra website it states for purchase,..

"You don’t need to be a Telstra customer"
      https://exchange.telstra.com.au/telstra-day-december-2021/

If they were locked you'd be forced to be a Telstra customer

      Hope that helps 👍😁

      • Thanks for clarifying

  • Sad the 12 mini deal would have been welcomed again

  • +1

I can't believe this is back. After wasting hours the first time around…. never again.

  • anyone else put on the DO NOT SELL ban list?

My credit rating sitting at 800…
Only think I can think of is I changed the address just before I placed all the orders

    • what's your name mate? honestly if what you did doesn't trigger a fraud algo security should be shot.

nothing against you, just normally people don't do that unless it is a commercial account, where 50-100 phones is not even questioned.

      • yeah happy with that its more the 2 months afterwards and DO NOT SELL which was not very nice.

I literally asked them to migrate my account to the new system. Wasnt even trying to buy something lol

Also note I do have an account with telstra… so they have all my credit card details and address etc for past 10 years

      • my name is mark… lol

  • I just price matched this from Officeworks. $854.05, so not a bad price if you need a new phone.

Unsure if still eligible for the FitBit Sense but I'll be trying today. Will upload receipt if this helps anyone else.

Edit: it's only from Telstra. Oh well! I didn't really want it anyway haha

    • How did you get office works staff to honor the price?
They said because you had to sign in with a telstra I'd they won't match the price.

  • When i try to go through the website without selecting plan it says an error occurred.
If I add a plan it goes through.
Any tricks for getting it outright?

    • Should go through either try again or maybe try another web browser or a mobile web browser,.. you are clicking the NEXT button at bottom of webpage not any of the SELECT button(s)?

      • Yeah am running into the same issue (happens later on). Select Phone -> Outright -> Skip plan selection -> Next -> Cart Summary -> Sign-in -> Buy Now -> on Page 1 of checkout entered ID, address details etc. Upon clicking 'Agree and continue' it will say 'verifying details' and then throw a error has occurred page. Have tried multiple times and same outcome.

        • woah tiger if it doesnt work once just lay off.

When I tried 5 times last time its taking me 3 months to try to get the fraud lock on my account removed

        • Strange doesn't work for you now I guess it's to late as only a one day deal as I would've suggested trying a different browser or your mobile phone browser

    • You need an active service to purchase outright on the Telstra site I believe.

The way around it is to use the Telstra Plus website to purchase, but 4000 Telstra Plus points are required at a minimum.

      • You don't need an active service to purchase outright online, bought 2x S21s outright on previous Telstra Day sale

  • Is it worth it for the Pixel 6 and smartwatch? I'm on the fence as I have an iPhone XS and would like to upgrade but then migrating from ios to android is a huge pain.

    • it is a pain well worth it in the long run.

    • Just wondering what part of migrating is a big pain,. moving contacts over? Honestly can't think of anything else

  • Here is an OzBargain deal for the Fitbit Sense @ $299 (worth $449.95),.. Delivered @ Myer,. if anyone misses out on the Telstra Pixel 6 FREE Fitbit Sense deal offer,..
    https://ozb.me/o/2ont?u=tw

    • +1

So the FitBit Sense offer is only if you buy the Pixel 6 from Telstra correct?

So for the user above (buying from OW, or JB) you can't claim the FitBit?
