  • The K4 absolutely needs a palm rest. I kinda feel like it's an incomplete keyboard without it.

The K4 also doesn't have a key guide on the arrow keys, so if you normally use arrow keys by feel, then the K4 will take a lot of getting used to! The narrower width however makes mouse placement much better. I'm not sure which of 100% or 96% is better however.

For me I bought the K4 and couldn't get used to the 96%. I type all day long word documents and use the keypad for data entry. Typing was OK but the muscle memory for the keypad was just off and I couldn't get used to it.

I ended up going for the K1 as that is 100%, the low profile keys are ok (I got more for the look of it). I tested RED and BROWN and went with brown. I would say sometimes the keys get stuck and I can miss spell but that could also be me. 100% KB for the time being is needed for me.

      • Haha oh no. I was hoping I would get used to it!

I feel like a 98% keyboard would be a good trade off. Just have a very small gap, but still a gap, between the arrows and numpad.

Just a tip for anyone looking to get a palm rest but doesn't want the 96% Keychron one. You can just get one made for a TKL keyboard but it will be slightly shorter by about 1cm. However if you put it in the middle you end up with about 0.5cm missing either side. Still comfy and doesn't look weird.

  • A quick question, do I have to select the package or the armrest will be included anyways? Thanks.

UPDATE: Sorry I thought the arm rest was included in all. My bad.

    • The armrest will be included anyway, don't need to select the package.

      • Even if I order the K3v2?

        • +1

Only the link of K4 / K8 come with free palm rest, others are doing the special price.

          • @ezpctech: Yeh that's what I thought. Thanks bud.

  • how does these keyboard/s compare to Tecware keyboards?

    • I had the Tecware Phantom TKL and had to return it because the switches were failing one by one. I bought a Keychron K8 instead and it feels a lot nicer, has WAY better keycaps, and it has 5 pin switch sockets that support more than just Outemu.

      Definitely worth it.

  • I never owned the mech keyboard before
so can you explain a bit more about these comment..

    -has WAY better keycaps,
    why is it better?

-and it has 5 pin switch sockets that support more than just Outemu.
so can swap with cherry as well as gateron?

Can the tecware change to cherry mx or gateron?

In regards to RGB lighting how do they compare to each other?

    So you bought this keyboard?
