  • Will be heading there this weekend.

    Doesn't sound too bad.

Am I the only one who's perplexed at the idea of parking 3 hours at the airport? Isn't it cheaper to just take a train or something?

    • Now that you mention it….

    • Yes it will be cheaper by bus(400) but not by train especially if you go there with someone. It cost at least $12/person just to pass the airport station gate.

    • +2

If you are more than two, it won't be cheaper by train, and take longer. Unfortunately.

Then again, just say your goodbyes before the airport and drop them off from between free and $7 (half-hour). Macquarie is such a ripoff.

      • Ah you guys are right. Forgot about the train's "airport tax".

      • Wow…..its like you have to see the bank manager just to get into the airport…
Qantas airfare prices actually seem reasonable in comparison to airport carpark prices these days!!!!!!!!!!!.
I read somewhere Melb and Sydney airports mad some stupid millions dollar amount just off parking last year…wtf..
overseas, even public transport costs you like $2.30 to use the bus in the US from downtown Seattle to the airport….

  • But seriously what the eff are you going to do at the airport for 3 hours???? most return flights will take that long…..

Shrugs Who knows… Desperately trying to hook up with a sexy flight attendant, maybe?

  • I beat The Man last time I was Mascot- no parking fees- but it takes split second timing.

  • OZBargainers would just make use of the 15 minute free parking…

  • Oh you get 15 minutes free now- what an innovation. It wasn't even 15 seconds last time I was there.

  • Park on the side streets at mascot and walk to the airport.

    • Long walk to the International Terminal.

      • Don't worry, you will sit for a long time in the plane.
