  • Reviews suggest that they can't match the Sony WF-1000XM4s so I suppose it's whether you can stretch to them or not. Seems like a good deal for a brand new release though.

I just received a pair of refurbished Sony WF-1000XM4s from the $270 ebay deal but I'm not sure whether to keep them because they didn't come in the proper box so the resale value won't be anywhere near as good.

    • I had to send my sony's back - just couldn't get a comfortable fit. Also wanted multipoint and good call quality so taken a punt on these (plus they are cheaper).

  • One other thing. These earphones do seem to have two important advantages over the Sony WF-1000XM4s. 8 microphones on each side for noise cancellation to improve voice and multi point pairing. I'm tempted.

  • These be recommended for exercise?

  • I got these from JB after a fair bit of research and a brief try out of the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2. I placed a high priority on features and the fact that the Sony headphones a) didn't have multipoint and b) forces you to choose between being able to use the earbud touch controls to control volume OR switch between ambient and noise cancelling were too much of a turn off as I find I often use both. I returned the Sennheisers as the case was too chunky compared to my Jabra 65Ts and I realised I was just leaving it at home sometimes because it wasn't as pocketable.

The main downside of these Technics is they don't turn off automatically when you take them out of your ear, and to a lesser extent the lack of wireless charging.

  • Any thoughts on these vs Jabra Elite 7 Pro?
Elite 7 pro are cheaper at $238.

    • Where are jabra elite 7 pros at $238 dude?

    • The Elite 7 Pro has wireless charging, and sensors that turn them off when you take them out. No Multipoint, though next month supposedly will see firmware bring it in. It also is far more weather resistant (waterproof!), so if you're running with these, it's a better choice than the Technics. They also have manual on/off buttons, rather than only insertion/taking them out of the case to power it on. That can be useful if the case isn't handy eg if you don't have both hands free. Elite 7 Pro also has a feature that lets you hear your own voice on a call so you don't shout (handy if on a train and have no idea if you're speaking too loudly).

I decided against these in favour of the Technics because reviews have universally panned the Jabra's noise cancelling. I didn't think that would be such a big deal as I always found my Jabra 65T's passive noise reduction more than enough. Now I have the Technics, I don't think I could handle any less Noise Cancelling strength. Of course, the Elite 7 Pro might have good passive noise reduction that helps offset.

      • Thank you, appreciate it.

How would this compare to the KZ VX10 flagship which is a popular ozb brand? It's also less than half the price too. https://kz-audio.com/kz-vx10.html

So popular that when you search for them this is the only thread that it's ever been mentioned in?

  • Get yourself the Sennheiser TW Momentum 2! :)
