Thanks OP. Last time I bought two and still have one in it's packaging from last deal because they are so sharp.

    • +1

I have a few myself, still using the first 1 also.. Indeed, they cut thru skin like butter!

OP, minor typo on the Steak&Finger knife
    I’ll allow it. Merry Christmas!

    • +1

      I was tempted, lol..

These are great I'm eating a steak now with one

  • +3

Ahh the OzBargain knife of choice now

  • +6

Careful! These are crazy sharp.. I've cut myself multiple times. It's both an upside and a downside to using these.

These knives are becoming the equivalent of Eneloops for Ozbargain!

Thanks OP, typing this with one in my mouth to hit the keys as missing fingers. Got some last special and they are sharp, will buy again

Used to be free before the eBay garage/garbage sales started…

    • yeah getting them for Free was great. I only have one but use it all the time

  • The free ones from a few months ago were better.

I have so many of these knives now it's not funny.

    • How many knives do you need until it does become funny?

  • +3

Do they come with a free set of steak knives?

    Merry bloody 🚯Christmas everyone 🎄🎁

These are great. Buy now, think later. There are identical looking ones (same blade) that have a part number starting with 5 but the handle isn't as nice - much prefer the ones with the part number starting with 6. Hope Santa was good to y'all.

Great , I got mine and used for almost 6 months, still quite sharp

    • +1

      Fingers still intact?

  • Cheap look/feel handles on these

    • I'm a real big fan of the handles. Find they stay looking the same forever. Grip still pretty good with wet or slightly oily hands, especially compared to metal handle knives I've used.

They don't make these in their typical rosewood handle as far as I know https://www.amazon.com.au/Victorinox-Straight-Edge-Pointed-T... maybe that'll change though, l much prefer serrated for the low maintenance and lack of needing to sharpen for a long time.

  • Red is OOS

My fav gift to those I hate. Guaranteed cuts for every 10th use of the knife.

We use these as steak knives, have had them for longer than 10 years. We toss them in the dishwasher so they're not as sharp as they once were but still cut a tomato, steak and any crusty bread no issue. Got 12 ones with black handles.

I've got a new one I look after that I handwash and use for cutting cherry tomatoes and anything else I can think of. Such a versatile knife. When new does a good job on whole loaves of bread. Still all easily do breadrolls. Use my old sharp one in my lunch pack at work, orange handle so stands out and doesn't get lost into other people's cutlery sets.

Very sharp initially, due to the size it's easy to use it incorrectly and forget about how sharp it is, so many people cut themselves. Never cut towards fingers, keep fingers clear of knife blade and direction. The cut due to the serrations hurts more than a normal clean slice imo.

  • OK that's it….I'm starting "Cooking 101"…..first lesson "Learning to use a knife if you are over five years of age".

  • do these need re-sharpening? is that even possible?

  • +1

I am not sure these are a bargain. $6 for the knife and $1200 for my wife to get surgery to get a graft to replace the tip of her finger… I am unfortunately not joking.

    $1206 for a knife. Not a bargain.

    Sharp knives though.

      You were warned though.

May i suggest a change of username to 'cutadigit'?

Jokes aside, poor bugger, hope she's OK now. Expensive lesson.

So now you have 2 choices, stay off Ozbargain or buy more deals to recoup the $1200?

I know right?! I told her they were sharp…….

Breakalim is me, not my wife. Ive already has my knee surgery ;p

Her finger surgery is tomorrow. She cut it Sunday and spent today waiting at a public hospital… Urg

I'll create a new alert for "plastic surgery"

        • +1

Hope it all goes well for her..
