Hi folks, a Merry Christmas and/or happy holidays to everyone. Thanks again for your support this year. 3 big deals for Boxing Day this year:

    • I've got an update via email today, they say that they are still working through the orders and my system should begin processing in the next week or two.
      I bough the 3080 system on Boxing Day.

  • My 3080 mid-late jan got dispatched today at around 1.

    • Nice, I ordered on the 26th of December, hopefully mine will be dispatched Monday

    • +1

      My early-mid Jan hasn't been dispatched yet. I ordered on Boxing day. I'm mad.

    • +1

      My early mid Jan hasn't been dispatched either..

      • The post technically says that graphics cards would arrive to techfast mid Jan but the way the post was constructed with the links was a bit misleading, makes you think you will receive the PC mid Jan

        • I'm just worried cos EveryDayOzBrowser got their PC dispatched today and they bought the mid-late Jan batch. I bought in on the Early-Mid Jan batch and haven't received anything

          • @Ploix: Funny because luke said that the mid-late Jan 3080's were only dispatched last month from (Taiwan?), so not sure how his order is dispatched… They wont arrive in the country for another 2 weeks, given customs, etc.

            • @ATangk: Oh ok, EveryDayOzBrowzer must be mistaken then

              • @Ploix: I'm not sure then, maybe someone cancelled and I got a early mid Jan card. I got the dispatch notice, aus post tracking and everything. It said the PC was picked up from sender at 1:07pm on Friday and that all the drivers were installed. It might be an early delivery as compensation for running out of x570 wifi motherboards. Instead they
                are giving me the x570s ud Mobo and a gigabyte wifi adapter.

                • +1

                  @EveryDayOzBrowser: Lucky you! I hope it arrives soon :)

                  • @Ploix: Hope so too, haven’t received any updates since Friday.

                  • +1

                    @Ploix: Came today, extremely happy with the build and it had the graphics card and everything too.

                  • +2

                    @Ploix: Maybe they are finally getting around to the early mid jans, my friends got shipped today.

                    • @ATangk: 2 days ago they told me the case I selected was out of stock. Finally got through to their office to pay for a different case today and they they said they'd get onto mine within the week… Bit annoying..

  • My 3060 ti came yesterday. Case is completely scratched up on one side….and not from transit either.
    :(

    • Rip, that’s sad.

      • How did it get scratched if it wasn’t from transit?

        • Most likely before it was packed….it's not the kind of scratches you get from transit unless someone unpacked it, ran it back and forth across a rough surface, and then packed it back up again.

          • @ssx: Maybe check if theres a plastic cover over it? Mine had it and once you peel it off, its good as new.

            Also got the 3060 ti that came yesterday

            • @robbinhoody: It's not the perspex side, it's the metal side. Couldn't see any cover over it.

              Thanks for the tip though :)

    • What did Techfast say?

      • Waiting for reply

    • +2

      Update: they offered a refund for the case, which was nice of them :)

      • That's good to hear, did you have to send it back?

        • Nope didn't have to send the case back

  • +1

    My 3070 build arrived in Perth yesterday, ordered on 26th Dec. Very happy with condition and build.

    • Where abouts are you in Perth? I have also ordered on the 26th Dec and I haven't gotten any tracking or anything. :/

      • In Nedlands. The tracking info didn't change for a week, then it was updated and arrived on the same day. The motherboard box and manuals arrived 3 days earlier.

        Mine shipped 6th Jan.

  • I purchased the 3070 system. A question about the z590 mobo though - can I use the second nvme slot? The mobo manual seems to indicate that I can only use the other nvme slot if I have an 11th gen cpu, rather than a 10th gen.
    This means we're stuck with the 500gb stick and everything else would have to be SATA?
    I can't believe that an upgrade results in a worse outcome :(
    Hopefully someone can tell me that I'm wrong.

    • +2

      Check page 3 of this thread, Luke has answered it. You can't unless it's 11th gen I believe

      • Thanks, looks like it's true for the B560M too, so don't feel as bad about paying to upgrade. Bit of a bummer though.

  • +2

    I'm not sure if I should post this but I just want to get it off my chest.

    Quick update/rant regarding my Early-Mid Jan 3080 build order:

    I was under the impression that I'd get the system by early to mid January when I ordered the system back in December's boxing day but apparently, after receiving an update from TechFast via email, there was a delay with the shipments of their Gainward RTX 3080 cards. That's all well and good, I understand that things like this happen all the time because of Covid. They don't have an exact ETA yet of when the cards will arrive so who knows when I will receive the system.

    The thing that ticks me off is in the same email they offered me an option for an "upgrade" to the 12GB VRAM variant of the 3080 for a small fee of $229 (which is first come first serve). The sheer audacity. You are telling me that the PC that I've ordered and paid for has been delayed and offer no compensation, then you ask me if I want to pay more? I don't want to sound entitled but I feel like it's a bit ridiculous. /endrant

    TL;DR: PC build got massively delayed, was offered an optional upgrade for $229 for new 12GB variant. I got mad and ranted.

    • +1

      I'm in the same boat. I'm glad I have the option to upgrade and am considering it if everything lines up well. Sad about not having my PC though :(

      • I am miffed that they are trying to charge us more when we've already been hassled and the PC that we have paid for has already been delayed. It's not right.
        Don't go for the upgrade, 12GB is not worth it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBDFtJ4lR2c

  • My — Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3080 Gaming PC - Early/Mid Jan — arrived today first thing 24 January (9am) in WA, 5 days earlier than expected per Australia Post (27 Jan to 2 Feb).

    The case was well packaged, and well-padded inside with the plastic bubbles my kids promptly popped. only to see "you need to keep them to send back for any warranty"… luckily enough amazon orders to replace those poppy bags.

    The build is neat (there is nothing in there really other than this huge oversized Phoenix edition 3080 Graphics card - I asked for the Phantom as they had both for this build per @luke, but seem I got the Phoenix (no promises were made)

    Busy with the painful clean install process

    Minor but annoying issue:
    ~~~~~~~`
    However - one thing is driving me insane… one of the fans is making this griding/vibration sound (nothing, bzzz, nothing, bzzz) - very soft, but distinct and annoying. The fans are quite loud with no load (nothing but setup) running (I also don't have any fan software installed yet)… but this oscillating vibration (every 1 - 2 seconds) is super annoying.
    So many fans in this thing, haven't isolated which one is causing the beef.
    Setup is basic order with modifications; 3 fan Gainward RTX 3080 Phoenix, 240mm AIO Liquid CPU cooler and the MSI Grungnir 111R case (Also upgraded SSD, but there is no sound there) 1 back fan. 1 PSU fan, 3 GPU fans, 2 AIO water cooler radiator fans and three front of case fans
    Ok, Just opened it up… it is one of the 3 front of case fans vibrating… did they just miss a rubber grommet? If I put my finger on the top of the fame of the front three fans the vibration sound stops
    Any advice?
    • +2
      MMM - also there is no sound drivers installed (I have no sound options and need to trouble shoot) — Sound Drivers here: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_real… for B550
      The DeepCool AIO 240mm is the blue version, which means not RGB only blue (I read the RGB review)
      Its been years since I Scratch-built PCs (Windows XP, Windows 7) but not Windows 10 other than upgrades. Should I install the motherboard drivers? I.e. go to the Gigabyte website and download the drivers for Gigabyte B550M DS3H?
      I installed the NVIDIA driver and I want to enable Resizable BAR. Seems like a worthwhile option with and AMD R5600x? Would I need to flash the BIOS of the Gainward Phoenix 3080 too?
      • Go through and reinstall every driver if you wish.
    • Glad to hear that yours came in already. I'm also in WA but I am still waiting for tracking, I don't think they've even started building my system yet.
      • I'm also in WA and heard nothing about my build yet.. Hopefully soon
        • no major complaints so far other than the vibration I need to fix.
          Wish there was an optical out for sound on the MB
          It looks like you could still fit a second M2/NVMe drive under the graphics card…. its coverd, but not touching I believe…
          The graphics card is so beefy fat, I'd dread to take it out… surprised these things don't come with a support on the other side of the case (not a techfast comment… general comment)
          So far happy with their product, service.
          Hopefully, yours come soon!
          .
    • PC, where? :(
      TechFast, more like TechSlow.
    • +1
      Apologies to all. Cards are here, just not with us. We're pushing freight forwarders and couriers to allow collection instead of delivery which is the holdup. Used to be doable before COVID. A bit more complicated now.
      • -1
        Does Techfast have a timeframe for when they'd be able to ship the systems out once they get their hands on the GPUs?
        Are all the systems already assembled and ready to be shipped, just waiting for the graphics card?
        Will they send it to us via express post to make up for the wait or still standard post?
        • I would fight for express if I were you.
          Mine was shipped out on the 18th, expected delivery on the 25th. Still hasn’t arrived
          • @WilhelmBargo: Thing is, we already paid for shipping. Not sure if TechFast would be willing to shoulder the extra cost of express shipping.
            @luketechfast — who do I talk to so I can request for express shipping for my delayed order?
  • Has anyone received their computer or gotten an update on the early/mid-jan 3080 build?
    • No. still waiting. ordered msi case, they contacted me 2 weeks ago saying no stock. Changed to deepcool
  • Anyone from the late mid Jan build Recieved their pc yet?
  • +5
    Update for all - this shipment, containing cards for our PC builds and individual sale cards, has been delayed due to COVID restrictions within the freight processing facility at Melbourne airport, and is currently sitting in backlog awaiting release to the courier. It has been there for about a week, prior to that was held in Singapore for similar reasons for about the same time, so about 2 weeks behind the original landing date we were given. We've been pushing all parties daily as hard as we can to no avail as yet. We'll wait to see if it moves over the weekend and provide an update to all customers via email on Monday. Sorry folks, extremely frustrating situation.
    • Thanks Luke, appreciate the communication.
    • +4
      As we had hoped they were released over the weekend and are now with the courier. Standard time from them to us is 24 hours so all going well the cards are with us tomorrow so system builds and single card orders can be completed.
  • Hmm so my 3080 build came and everything seems in order except for the fact that the graphics card crashes quite frequently to where I am met with a black screen and have to restart the PC..
    Its happened during both gaming and regular internet browsing
    • +1
      generally with GPU issues, the driver usually reloaded to recover the session and doesn't cause a hard crash.
      sound like a CPU issue more than the GPU.
      perhaps PBO is enabled in BIOS and the CPU doesn't like it? My CPU didn't like it when I enabled PBO and some related settings and ended in black screens iirc.
      but I thought Techfast stress-tested the builds before shipping and should have caught it.
      • +1
        It seems it was because the power cable to the gpu was loose. Must have happened in transit
        • +2
          sweet. thanks for sharing this.
      Cards arrived late this afternoon - full speed ahead.
      • Appreciate the communication
      • Finally, some progress! Thanks.
    Early - mid Jan got shipping confirmation just now :)
    • Oh didn't expect them to still have a backlog of early - min Jan builds :(
      • Neither..
  • End Jan got shipping confirmation just now :)
  • Any tips for mounting a 3.5 inch hdd in the case?
    • +1
      Lance case? There is a HDD drive bay next to the power supply it has to be screwed in to the drive bay. There are two screws externally underneath the case. Remove those and you should be able to easily unclip and slide out the drive bay it has a notch on each side locking it in.
  • Just got the shipping notification for my Late Jan 3080 build.
  • I ordered a 3080 build on 29th December, for Late Jan delivery. Still no shipping notification. Still getting "it's coming sorry for the delay"…. Kinda incredibly disappointed at this point…
    • Trying to pair up an order number with the ozb username, if your order is TF4749072631 it's currently testing to ship either today or tomorrow.
      • Thankyou!
  • Got my "late Jan" build late last week… very happy with the build and what it can do. I was hesitant at first but very happy with the buy and have a very happy son. Would use this option again if I ever want to get my own upgrade except i'll get an ATX board for expansion purposes.
  • Just received the pc
    Packaged well, cabling very neat, no damage during transit - would buy from Tech Easy again
    • +2
      But what about TechFast? 🤔
      • +1
        They are pretty damn good too 😅
