Bought one of these about 6 months ago for about the same price. A stonking good vacuum for the price!

Remember that time appliancesonline sold those bosch vacuum cleaners for 60 bucks a few boxing days ago?

Nothing has compared to that deal since (and still doesnt), but this seems like a reasonable deal

I’d pay double for a Miele over a Bosch

    • Which is at least what it's worth!

    • anecdote: Our Miele broke after being infrequently used :|

      • +1

Mine too C3, the cord stopped reeling in after two years and died under four years. Also infrequent use as I generally use my stick Vacuum. Miele are not what they used to be. This is a great price for a cheap vac but don't expect the old Miele quality for it.

        • That's interesting. My s5311 bought in 2013 still going strong to this day.

  • Sheesh, just paid 220 for this thinking it was an amazing price… awesome vacuum. Replacing my old miele after 20 years of solid use.

Waiting on a Miele C3 Cat & Dog deal :(

    • You can get the C3 Cat Dog for $539 eBay Appliances Online with the same coupon. It's not sub $500 but it seems like there has been low stock levels at most retailers for the last 12 months.

      • Thanks mate.

Looks like it’s $505 via the Good Guys Commercial too.

    • After days of research I ended getting the Electrolux Pure D9 instead. Better value, follows you better and has a 12m cord.

      • Thanks mate. Really intrigued by the Pure
D9 based on what you’ve said.

Hoping for something that will potentially last ages and ages.

        How’s the build quality?

        • Build quality is really good. Nothing is flimsy despite being aluminium and plastic. The wand tube is aluminium compared to the miele steel but its a strong aluminium sort of like a Dyson stick vaccum but thicker. The height adjustment on the wand is really smooth operation.

Everything comes together with a nice solid click with no play.

The bags you can get for cheaper online like Amazon. They are called 's bags'.

I've got every bit of confidence it's going to last a long time.

Overall it's got good suctions power, is energy efficient, solidly built, 12m cord, really quiet like a low pitch hum, comes included with a turbo head and is much cheaper than a miele c3 cat and dog.

Comparing Miele Complete C3 Versions (Made in Germany)

First things first, the C3 range includes a Cat & Dog version, the PowerLine, the Turbo, the Jubilee, the Multifloor and the Comfort.

The only significant difference between these models are the tools or attachments that have been included.

Take a quick look at this comparison table to get a better understanding.
Version Name Filter Type Accessories Included

C3 PowerLine Standard AirClean filter Consists of the standard accessories package of an upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle and dusting brush

C3 Turbo Standard AirClean filter Beyond the standard package, also includes a Turbobrush

C3 Jubilee Standard AirClean filter Beyond the usual accessories, also includes a Parquet Brush Twister

C3 Multifloor HEPA AirClean filter Notwithstanding the standard accessories, also has the Parquet Brush Twister

C3 Cat & Dog Active AirClean filter After the standard accessories, also includes the Turbobrush and Mini Turbobrush

C3 Comfort HEPA AirClean filter After the standard package, also has a Parquet Brush Twister, Turbobrush and Mini Turbobrush

  • Is this good for carpets?

    • If you get the carpet head, it’s good. I got one off Gumtree and it’s really good

  • Id go with Bosch instead if this.. Bosch is 2200W and has HEPA and its also washable

If Miele made this 2200W then this would be as good

    • Miele have a better filtration system.

      • I believe miele is 99.97% down to 0.3microns. I assumed Bosch is same, being HEPA too, but i cannot verify this, lack of info on Bosch website.

  • Just done a bit of a research, some online source says miele C1 C2 C3 have the same suction power but it is not true according to their Australian official site, the C1 only has peak suction power of 900w and the C3 has 2000w, hence the difference in price, but who knows what peak suction means? Maybe the average suction power is similar?

    • The website says 1800W here

    • +2

Don't make the mistake that higher wattage equals greater suctions - this is untrue and more of an indicator that it's an ineffcient motor. In Europe vacuums legally required to be max 900 watts. After days of research and a bit of time testing out the Miele in store, I ended getting the Electrolux Pure D9 instead. Better value, follows you better better as the hose is on the end instead of on top of the vacuum and it has a 12m cord.

      • -1

If the motor and vacuum is efficient and it is also 2200W you are going to get extreme suction.. a 900w isnt going to come close if the efficiency is equal. My Miele s5281 has 2200W and very efficient motor and airflow. In suction and air flow tests it kicks virtually every vacuums butt.

A lot of vacuum sales people also use the line that watts are not important and high watts can have poor efficiency. Which is true. They leave out the logic that you can also have high watts that are ALSO high efficiency motor and unit that therefore kick the pants off a low watt unit

I low watt motor can only be so efficient… before it needs more watts to be able to compete with an high watt high efficient vacuum.

Im honestly not sure how well the Bosch would do in airflow and suction. Miele s5281's were around $230 when i bought one and it has high efficiency and 2200 max watts.

Do your own research dont take my word for anything.

        • Agree with what you've said. However I don't know why anyone would need such a high wattage motor. The Electrolux I got is only a 600w motor and I'm very impressed with the suction - don't need anymore. Even picking up pet hair on carpet does it with ease. For hard floor you don't need very much suction power to pick things up. For carpet, if you have too much you risk the vacuum sticking and lifting up the carpet but is mitigated with a turbo head.

There comes a point where there isn't really a need for such high wattage vaccuums anymore for the normal household in my opinion . If there was a vacuum that had more suction but at 3000W, is there really a need of buying that over a vacuum that is more effiecient that can still pick up everything?

At what point does more watts (assuming more suction) becomes uncessary? Guess it depends on the household.

      • Where did you get the Electrolux Pure D9 from?

        • It's only sold at Godfreys that I could find. There's not too much info on them online. It's quieter than the Miele vacuum which really impressed me - can still hear my own thoughts. It's the quietest vacuum I've ever heard. Such a nice change from the Dyson stick vacuums. Comes with the turbo head for carpet included which often times you have to buy as an extra accessory with other vacuums. Bigger wheels than the Miele which helps it move around particularly on carpet.

Miele Compact C1 is made in China. (The one listed here)

Miele Classic C1 is made in Germany. (Sold at JBHiFi) sold for $199 in Dec 2020.

Miele C3 is made in Germany.

    China - Dongguan factory
Established in 1996 as a joint venture with Melitta, the Dongguan plant has been fully owned by the Miele Group since 2009. Currently Miele produces the Swing H1, Compact C1, Compact C2 and Complete C2 vacuum cleaners here. This includes, for example, the production of plastic components through in-house injection moulding as well as assembly. As with vacuum cleaners from the Bielefeld factory, all motors come from Miele in Euskirchen. Approx. 330 employees manufacture about 500,000 vacuum cleaners per year at the Dongguan factory.

    • Reality is the others are likely 'assembled' in Germany with parts from the similar sources

  • good suction

  • Do you guys reckon it's worth abit more to pay for the Pure C9 Animal?

  • I never thought I’d say this about a vacuum but I love my c3 allergy
