I wonder it will be 20% off if it works !!

          • +3

@PeterPP: Try it and report back

            • +2

@John Kimble: I waited for more than 24 hrs, it is proved that no bonus points of $50 Amazon card….. :(

    • Bought on Wednesday, received the 10k points today.

  • +1

    got 5x$100 Amazon GC.

    Thanks OP.

  • What if I buy a $50 Amazon gift card? Will the bonus Flybuys points by halved?

    • +4

It’s most likely you’ll get zero bonus points, because the $50 denomination is not listed as being included in this deal. Coles is (usually) quite strict about their gift card deals, and if they say only the pictured (or mentioned) denominations are in a deal, they (usually) mean that.

You’re probably thinking of Woolworths, where they sometimes only show a picture of one denomination in the catalogue, and in the fine print, they actually say all denominations are included in their gift card deal.

  • +2

got 5 ebay GC. Is it possible to deposit the amount to ebay account right away, all 5 of them, so that I dont need to worry about misplacing any of them?

    • +2

      Only works with Amazon.

eBay really need to up their game when it comes to the CX of gift cards.

    • +3

Yes you can just add a random item to cart and put in the gift cards but not actually buy it. The gift cards will now be tied to your account and you can select which ones you want to use at checkout next time you buy something

      • Thanks toobzy !

      • I think it's a limit of 8 gift cards one can add to their eBay account, read somewhere though I could be wrong?

  • +1

my points arrived yest night, so about a 24 hr turnaround

    • Not the case here….Bought at 10am yesterday, its now 4PM the next day and no sign of any points

      • Same here. It's not even showing in the history.

      • should be available after 5pm next (business?) day

      • +1

I bought three gift cards around 8:30pm AEDT last night, and the bonus and standard points were credited to my account a few hours ago.

  • +1

duh people are just so inpatient relax flybuys is amazingly good

    • +1

Yeah, and they should be grateful too. I couldn't get 1 giftcard.

      • Plenty of Netflix cards around at my local Coles. No eBay gift cards in sight at any of my local Coles stores. Next time, I will be sure to line up at 7 AM in the morning.

    • +1

duh people are just so inpatient relax flybuys is amazingly good

      inpatient impatient

I beg to differ with this assessment.

If EDR is able to show the bonus points instantly via the Rewards app, I expect Flybuys to be able to do the same.

      • -3

If EDR is able to show the bonus points instantly via the Rewards app, I expect Flybuys to be able to do the same.

Two different programs. It's easier to have your Everyday Dollars stolen unlike flybuys dollars.

  • my bonus points appear on the activity log the next day but not on my total points yet

    • +1

but not on my total points yet

Sometimes killing and reloading the FlyBuys app fixes the issue.

  • My points arrived on my account today (purchased late yesterday)

  • Picked up 10 Amazon cards in 2 accounts
    Waiting for the points

    • I can see the activity. However I do not see the bonus points. I wonder what happened

      • Did you buy the right cards i.e. $100, not $50?

  • Has anyone managed to buy any of these with flybuy dollars?

    • +2

Can't be done. FlyBuys Dollars can't be used to buy any gift cards.

      • I think that WookieMoster has mentioned you can if you have a Coles CC.

        • +1

          Not quite.

If you have a Coles Financial Services product (e.g. Coles CC) and have your Flybuys card tied to that product, you’ll have message pop up asking whether you’d like to redeem 2,000 Flybuys points for a $10 discount.

If you’ve converted your points into Flybuys Dollars and have less than 2,000 points available on your account, you won’t have that message pop up at all.

Flybuys Dollars can only be redeemed in-store by swiping the Flybuys card on the EFTPOS terminal.

    • If you could you'd keep buying cards over and over with points generated over and over and the initial gift card you bought at the end will cost you next to nothing as it keeps getting discounted

So why you can see why they wouldn't allow this 👍

  • Anyone know if the netflix card has limit? As I bought 6x $50 netflix card and only able to enter 5x card, getting they again later with the 6th card..

    • You have answered your own question

  • +2

Made an Amazon order last night, saw this, went to Coles today to pick up some GCs to use for payment instead.

One of Amazon's handiest features is the ability to (in most cases) add GCs as a payment method after ordering but before processing.

    Thanks OP!

    • when would you actually ever have to use that feature?
      never had the need personally.

      • +1

It's particularly handy for when they have timed or limited deals where you might not be able to generate a discount GC in time - you can purchase with the CC but then use the GC afterwards and save a few bucks.

Main limitation from what I can see is that it will only allow you to revise the payment for items sold by Amazon - third party seller items you need to cancel and repurchase with the GC.

  • Just let the Brisbane ozbargainers know that Coles Carindale QLD still has plenty of stock on the shelf. No one seems to be interested in these gift cards.

    • +1

      …or they had just restocked

      • +1

Lots at Coles Cannon Hill QLD too.

        • OK that settles it — nobody wants this weaksauce shit

    • +1

It's not really well advertised, every Coles I've been to has plenty of stock.

Really good deal imo, especially the eBay ones.

      • every Coles I've been to has plenty of stock

Which Melbourne metro area are we talking about here?

The eBay cards seem to be the most scarce.

Could you please DM me any particular Coles stores that might still stock the eBay cards?

      • I dont think it is NOT well advertise, I think is due to you need to use Flybuys to get the discount and it will be limited per account, unless you create 10 new flybuys accounts. to get 50 cards.

  • Confirming before I search availability for the amazon gift cards, Can those be used in one transaction?
Looking at apple watch from amazon!

    • +2

You can add as many Amazon gift cards as you like to your Amazon account’s gift card balance, which in turn can be used to purchase an Apple Watch (or an Apple gift card) through Amazon.

  • after visited 4x coles found ebay $50 in a Coles Local but was told they don't attend coles promotion!

    • +2

Yep, that’s (unfortunately) correct. I’m glad you did not purchase any gift cards from a Coles Local store, as it is strongly implied (but not specifically stated) in fine print in two separate sections of the catalogue that this offer is not available at Coles Local.

      • If you look at the bottom of page 28 of the NSW catalogue, it states promotional products and prices may not be available at … Coles Local…

      • If you look at the fine print of page 40 of the same catalogue, you’ll see that the offer in this deal is only available at Coles Supermarkets. Coles Supermarkets and Coles Local are two separate types of stores (much like how Coles Online and Coles Express are separate types of stores from Coles Supermarkets).

I think OPs of gift card deals at Coles in future should include a small note reminding people that these gift card deals are not available at Coles Local.

Good luck on your hunt for gift cards! I’m quite surprised eBay gift cards are proving to be so popular at some stores…

  • anyone can share where there's still $50 Ebay in Melbourne? Cheers

    • I am in the same boat as you. I have all but given up.

    • just bought 5 from Port Melbourne today. Plenty left

  • My store had none on display. The cabinet they hang on is hinged and I opened it. Bingo. Heaps of various cards inside in boxes and strewn everywhere. Give it a go. Staff just don't refill the display.

  • Has anybody purchased a $20 Netflix GC and got bonus Flybuys points?

Last time Coles ran this promo they didn't advertise the $20 Cards as being eligible but they still awarded 1000 FB points for $20 Netflix.

    • +2

The reason Flybuys didn’t advertise that $20 cards were eligible in that previous deal was that they simply said you would earn 1000 bonus Flybuys points on a Netflix gift card. When Coles/Flybuys does not specify a denomination nor specify any exclusions, then all denominations are eligible.

My guess is that you will not get 2000 bonus points on the $20 Netflix gift card for this deal, because:

      • Different denominations of gift cards at Coles are allocated different stock codes, so Coles (and Flybuys) can tell whether you purchased a $20 or $50 Netflix gift card.

      • Someone bought a $50 Amazon gift card (which is not listed as an eligible denomination in this deal) and confirmed they did not get any bonus points.

      • Thanks WM.

Yeah I suspect you are right … they have been very specific this time around with specifying the denominations in the large bold print… but the wording in the small bold print is also contradictory since there is only 1 denomination of each card type listed …

So .. if anybody has put this theory to the test in the last few days… please let us know.

        • +2

Why don't you try it out and let us know?

  • +1

bought 15 ebay giftcard today still waiting for it to track

    • +7

Hope you purchased it on 3 separate flybuys accounts!

    • Same here 15 though eBay's boxing day 15% off is over also and I missed out why I bought these eBay gift cards lolz

I guess I'll just hold onto them till the next eBay plus deal, maybe Australia day deals👍🤣

      • if stuff discounted with promo codes you can only use a few giftcards but if discounts been applied without promo code you can use maximum of 8

  • Got 5x $50 eBay GC. Thanks dealbot!

  • Does someone know if you scan your flybuys and pay via flybuy points at checkout, do you still get the bonus 2000 points for each GC?

  • so 5 x $100 Amazon GC for $50 flybuys dollars?

    • Yes (well, actually, $52.50 in Flybuys Dollars, but you can only convert Flybuys points into Flybuys Dollars in multiples of 2000 points…).

  • Setting up 3x Flybuy accounts (already have one)

Should one have different names possibly made up per account and using same address for 3x?

Edit: And I guess 3x different mobile numbers,

    • Diff Mob # 's ?

      • I'm sure they'll ask for your mobile number to use for any verification on a new mobile device for there App etc

        Or No?

        • +1

Yupz need a mobile number to create an account, two accounts I used the same mobile number so hopefully all good, time will tell 👍😝

          • +1

@Italkdigital: Also if you used a fake birthday you need to note it as they ask for it if you have to ring them up. Someone reported before that his parents shared a mobile phone but both had flybuy accounts and has not been a problem. But if they ever wanted to do an audit you could be found out and they could close the accounts. Maybe do not accumulate too many points. I also use different CC or GC with each account but maybe not necessary.

            • +2

@Yola: Thanks,.. I actually have a data sim I forgot about which I can use that number,. Credit cards I actually used the same for 3 accounts and the other accounts have the same DOB/Address and same surname but different first names actually my middle names so yeah there my identical brothers lol I doubt I'll use the other accounts that often or at all, just on these special deals for these GCs

Points has not yet come through as yet though I did purchase just before midnight last night, again thanks 👍😝

  • Did anyone get points for the variable load Amazon cards? two of my $100 Amazon variable's didn't however I note the Apple variable one's in another deal worked. Fine print doesn't specifically say yes or no.

    • As @WookieMonster has mentioned countless times on this thread, FlyBuys award the bonus points based off the product code of the GCs you purchase.

Fine print doesn't specifically say yes or no.

You could email them or call them to plead your case. Either way, you will be waiting forever for those points.

      • No mention of variable from WookieMonster, we will ring and get them easy.

        • +1

To be fair, that was because I didn’t realise until yesterday that Coles stocked variable load Amazon gift cards. (I only spotted them yesterday at a Coles I haven’t been to before…)

My guess is that variable load Amazon gift cards are excluded from the deal, because:

          • Variable load Amazon gift cards were not listed as an inclusion in the deal’s text,

          • Variable load Amazon gift cards were not pictured in the catalogue, and

          • The deal’s fine print mentions this offer only applies to the cards listed and their denominations displayed.

Variable load Amazon gift cards have separate product codes from the $50 fixed denomination and $100 fixed denomination, so Coles/Flybuys will be able to tell which gift card denomination you purchased.

Having said that, if the bonus points are not automatically credited to you, there’s no harm in asking Flybuys to manually credit the points to you. From my experience, Flybuys staff may or may not budge on these kinds of things, but as I said, there’s no harm in asking.
