      Cut it in to 5 x 5m lengths… winning

      • +14

Might have 4 useless 5m lengths and a 5m suicide lead!

    • +2

Thanks (and thanks to OP), that's the one for me. Ordered. And yes, as batrarobin posted below - it's $10.95, but nil postage so, SCORE!

  • +2

    User name checks out

  • 5M… I’ve seen bigger

  • Thanks, got one for the pressure washer.

chrome only works for me incog.

I resorted to using 'edge' earlier.

        • +1

Hello I'm the 5m extension lead sent by total tools

      • +3

I'm okay with people acting like total tools.

  • -2

Normal price at Bunnings is $5 anyway

    • -1

Definitely looks better quality than the bunnings $5 one? Plus its over 10% cheaper and free delivery

Assuming you mean this one: https://www.bunnings.com.au/click-5m-white-extension-lead_p0…

      • +1

Reports on the 25m one say it's pretty average quality. So this wouldn't be any better than the Click.

The saving was good, but it's less than a dollar saving, so not anything special.

        • +2

0.45kg click vs 0.68kg Detroit, might indicate better materials used. Plus the Detroit has led indicator. Clear winner to me 🤷‍♂️

  • Ordered two thanks OP
They don't deliver to PO BOX fyi but sorted to home address

  • THanks OP. ORdered 2

  • Happened to have $8 insider bucks available. 2x 5m extension leads for 72c, don't mind if I do!

  • +4

When you scramble to buy a bunch of 25m extension cables at 10 to midnight on Boxing Day you know you're peak OzB.

    • +1

Did the same thing. Good timing though, mum needed one and I grabbed another as a spare. Can't go wrong for $11 each. Especially when the old ones are held together by tape at the ends.

  • I wouldn't ever go to total tools again. I spent around 1300 dollars on Milwaukee tools and heated gear and when something broke they would look at me sus while questioning me.and in general are in helpful over refunds. screw total tools. Bunnings seem to not care and don't give me weird looks. and don't have to send shit away.

    • +1

Bunnings definitely have to send things away after 30 days, just been through this with my AEG circular saw. Told me to take to rewinders myself to save 2 weeks. They had it for 2 weeks and gave me a new one back anyway. Bunnings are just as bad.

  • +1

I would label total tools as scummy

  • Shows as $5.45 for me - what a ripoff! :)

  • It does not want to give me free delivery to Canberra. :(

    • I think free delivery was only valid till midnight

  • -2

Not much cheaper than the kmart ones, you can buy anytime for 5bux.

    • Doubt they are 10A

      • I have been running a 2.5KW room heater with it and the cable and the lead when removed from the point are cool to touch. And thats over 11A. In other words most products in Australia are overpriced. There is no reason these should be priced anymore than that. These probably cost less than a $ to manufacture.

        • +1

It probably doesn't matter at short lengths, but some power tools (such as a leaf blower or lawnmower) at 25m, would likely need a thicker gauge wire to operate optimally.

It doesn't matter that your appliance works, you are still paying for the thickness of the copper.

          • @TEER3X: If it aint getting warmer at 5m, it probably wont at 25m. The cable and the plug is of decent thickness/build. Of course the thickness of the cable does not mean it has thicker copper wires inside none the less, kmart one does not feel cheap. Have a look at them next time you visit kmart. And they are 10A rated. Cheers.

  • Comes up as $9.29 delivery in Sydney

    • +1

Pretty sure free delivery is until midnight last night

  • I try to buy it but it is out of stock.

  • Just bought a 25m cable for $10.95 click and collect. Never know when it will come handy!

    Thanks OP.

  • just got a phone call from Total Tools Kewdale, said that they've been ozbargained (out of stock) and cannot do back order, had to give me a refund

    • same, got a call that they will refund as there is not enough stocks

    • 🙋‍♂️ Taren Point called me too, will process the order for the 2x 25m I ordered but they admit they only got allocated maybe 500x 5k cables for their store and that the sale price was below cost, so it's going to the head office for processing of refund.

  • ordered two and my son went for a ride to get them. comes home saying they were heavier than expected (in back pack)
was supplied 2 x 25m by mistake, oh well they only cost me 90c using up my $10 insider reward credit
orders another 5m, wonder what will happen next time
    .

    • Some guy probably got home today after picking up their order for two 25m leads and thought “Geez this feels a bit light” haha

  • Issued a refund. Not happy.

  • Refunded

  • Ordered two, got cancelled after 15 days, saying no stocks, despite you can still order from the shop and get it delivered with cost.

So they just don't want to wear the free delivering cost, I wouldn't shop there anymore.

  • Ordered the 25m on Dec 26. Shipping updates until Jan 12 and then it just stopped. A week of hassling both the shipping company and Total Tools. I told them that I still wanted the item but they cancelled the order and sent a refund. A month of bullshit. Don't waste your time with them.
