Thanks for the reminder OP. My go-to for O365 (apart from the Lenovo deal a few years back).

    • +2

      No worries!

Nice to see they reduced the price, if only by a few $

  • +10

It's worth it just for the 6TB of cloud storage. Great deal

    • +1

It’s 1TB per user account though and the entire 6TB can’t be used for a single personal account?

      • +1

Per user account. For example, we are a family of 3, we have different user accounts for phones and laptops. We use 1TB each on our phones and 1TB each for PC/laptops.

      • +11

        Yes and No
You are right yes it is 1tb per account
But you can share a folder for other users who can write to it. Which means you can tap to full 6gb

    • +2

      Agreed, Dropbox is… AU$323.27 / family

For households • Up to 6 users • Shared 2,000 GB

Going to try for a pricematch/beat at Officeworks tomorrow! Wish me luck.

    • I have price matched with OW on this exact deal before, they do it.

    • Is there a material difference if you purchase it at Officeworks?

      • +4

Price beat makes it 5% cheaper.

    • +3

Visited Officeworks Wagga Wagga this morning. The 15 year old female checkout operator seemed to think it was eligible for a price-match/beat but her 16 year old male supervisor told me they couldn't match the price because (and I quote) "They have a different method of delivery".

I said, "you could open the cards and then email me the codes if you like and that will then be the same method of delivery." "No we can't do that."

"OK", I said, "well I'll go home and save $120 on your price for 4 of those"

"Oh, you want to buy 4, I didn't realise? Do you want me to double check with the store manager". "No" I replied, "that's ok. Just make sure you tell them how you just lost a really easy, almost $400 sale".

I know I should've let the store manager decide but… It's hot here so I left.

      • +1

Try your luck at the call Center. If you’ve got the time, you can keep calling until you get a rep who will do it for you

        • +1

Yeah, I tried that too, thanks. Call Centre recording: "No-one here on public holidays (words to that effect) please contact your closest store". So SaveOnIt got my order a few hours ago and I already have my shiny new 12 month codes.

I guess I'm now an OzBargain failure! :(

    • +1

i called officeworks and did a price beat, not sure if the staff who took my call made a mistake or it is really that cheap after price beat. only $57.20 for 1 year. i should have bought more.

      https://imgur.com/V5iVqOi

      • Great deal. Definitely should have bought more.

  • +3

If you have an existing Microsoft 365 subscription and you purchase this will it extend the existing subscription?

    • Yes, it has for me previously, not needing it this deal.

      • +2

        Yes, it worked.
        Sure beat Microsoft $129 renewal.

        • How do you add it to your existing subscription?

    • Yes, it will.

      I just did that.

However, I had a 5 user subscription expiring next year. It remained a 5 user subscription (contrary to the claim of 6 users in this coupon). I think it I will get one additional user once my current 5 user subscription expires.

      • +2

Did you forget to count yourself? Because I did. It's 5 + you.

    • Sure does, I usually buy a couple of years and stack them, just so I don't forget.

      • So can I just buy a couple from this deal and stack them? How many years can I stack to?

        • +5

MS won't allow your subscription to be longer than 5 years. So, assuming your subscription expires within 12 months, you could stack 4 years onto it.

  • Single user price at $74 not bad either.

    https://www.saveonit.com.au/product/microsoft-office-365-per…

Believe the 'trick' of applying one or more single user licenses then applying a multi-user license still converts the single to multi at no cost, not done it myself, so not 100% sure it still happens.

FYI: If your child goes to a NSW public school they can download MS Office for free through the student portal.

    • They don't get the storage though right?

    • +2

If it's anything like my district, all their files are accessible by teachers (which is actually a really good feature), but just FYI.

  • Thanks OP, my subscription runs out at the start of February so thought I would grab this however does anybody else have the problem that when you go to submit your order on the checkout page it just takes you back to your cart? Was using the top 'direct deposit' option to save on paying a 2% surcharge on paypal or credit card…. not sure if it will work if I just pick one of those options and cop the extra 2%. Tried on Chrome and Edge and had same result.

  • Thanks for the good price and bought one.
And I think the website needs an update.
When registered, it sent an activation email with the plain-text password to me.
It's quite not safe to do that.

    • -2

Just wondering, how would you prefer to get a product activation code?

      • +2

Read what he said. They sent the account password (not product activation code) in plain text. Same for me. Website is outdated or designed poorly. Lucky I used PayPal.

  • Hey guys what happens when it is time to renew? Does it revert to full price?

    • Does it revert to full price?

Yes. You are only buying a 1 year licence.

    • +2

Possibly, what I have done with my existing plan (bought on sale) was that immediately after activation, turn off auto renewal

  • Just checking with those who have this - does it work across all platforms like PC, android, IOS or just on PC subscription

    • +6

Microsoft 365 works across all platforms

    • Everything. I use it on my PC, Mac and iPhone.

  • Thanks for the reminder.

  • +1

I hope Microsoft does the half price HUP promo again. Missed the one in April.

  • Is family sharing this subscription a thing? I need just 1 or 2… couldn’t find any on the ozb classified from my mobile search.

    • +1

I might be interested if someone has confirmed they have done it before. I'd take two users.

    • If you need more than 1, this is the cheapest you'll get.

      • So if I use 2, what can I do with the other 4? Can I extend it to friends/ozb classifieds?

        • Wanna test it out on me?

        • Yes. You activate it on your account, there will be a box where you can enter the email of anyone you want to add to the subscription. They get sent a link they click to activate it on their account.

    • If yould like to, you can go halves with me …
I only need it for me and my wife … the kids get theirs through school …

    • Yep, we have spare using them for wife, kids and me so I share an extra one with my Dad. Worked for years. Not part of a microsoft household thing.

Or, if not needing M$ spyware, use Libre Office & Em-Client (free for 2 personal email addresses)

    https://ninite.com/libreoffice/ninite.exe

    Em-Client Free: https://www.emclient.com/download

    Free license: https://www.emclient.com/free-license

  • +1

Libreoffice is not as polished as Office but I recommend everyone give it a try. For a lot of people it’ll get the job done.

    • If you need cloud storage, it's hard to go past this. Basically get cheap storage with a decent set of office tools. Also if working from home, all or part is tax deductible.

    • Doesn't include the 1TB of cloud storage and splitting the cost of the family license with friends/family makes it very cheap since each user gets their own 1TB of storage and access to the full Office suite.

  • +2

Thanks, mate. No problem stacking till 21/12/2026. I think five years is still the max.

    • +1

does it mean i can buy a few of these licences and activate them in my current microsoft 365 account, and it will extend the expiry date by a few more years?

      • +1

Yep, exactly. I did this a year ago and had five years stacked (max, I believe), now a year has passed so I topped up with another year. If you have no subscription, you could buy five in one go and activate one after the other. That's what I did a year ago and it worked.

  • Hmmm, 2% surcharge with Paypal or credit card FYI

    • Indeed

Paying via PayID or Direct deposit does not attract a surcharge

  • FYI. If you work an office job or are in Uni/school, you usually get a free license for Office. Provided you guys use Office at work/school.

You'd be surprised how many people are unaware of this.

    • +1

If you work an office job or are in Uni/school, you usually get a free license for Office

Are you talking about the home user program?

      • +1

Home use program is where you pay $15-20 for a standalone license of 2019/2021 ProPlus. He's talking about Microsoft 365 where you just sign in with your work email and can download the suite for free.

    • +3

Yes, your work/school email provides you with free license of Office. However, if you leave your company/school, you no longer have that email. That means you have to go through hassle to transfer all your files into another cloud. In addition, administrators for your work/school can monitor your files if they want to. I wouldn't really consider that's a secured way to store your back up safely.

  • If anyone is interested for spots in a family subscription pm me.

  • +1

Through the Home Use Program you can use your corporate email to sign up your PERSONAL email for $90.30 per year in a family subscription. This means that you won't need to transfer any files if you move companies, because you and your family's files are stored on your personal accounts. To check whether you can sign up, just type your email in here

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/home-use-program

If it's valid, it'll send you an email to your work account. Just forward that to your personal account (for convenience) and sign up from there

    • +1

      Great deal if eligible

  • +2

Got a price beat from my local ow. Cheers everyone 👍🏼

    • How much did you pay for it?

  • Got Officeworks in O'Connor, WA to price beat it. Bought 2 for $90.25 each.

    • I thought they do 5% but this seems to be like 50%. How come?

      • It's still only 5%. I purchased 2 @ $90.25 each. All up for both it was $180.50.

  • Do people use this to setup/access webmail from your own domain? i.e. small business (2 people) setup?

  • what happens after the first year?

  • For those with websites, you can use their email server.

For the rest, most don't even use what 365 offers/snoops.

    FREE:

LibreOffice (handles Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, and can open Publisher docs) +

Em-Client (up to 2 non-commercial email)> Even their paid is reasonable.

FTW (please shoot them $5+ or more if you do utilize their services).
