On my 2nd pair of trueAir2 after my first pair got run over…

Still amazing. My only complaint is the less-than-amazing bluetooth antenna in them; but it just means the phone goes in the front or side pockets of my clothing, not the back.

Id recommend them anywhere up to the $45 tag; once you hit $50; there are a few other import brands you could start arguing compete.

    • How's the headset quality?
My QCY T5s are really bad in that area and am looking for an upgrade. Scarbir never mentioned it :'(
Edit: I don't mean microphone quality, but if you could weigh in on that too I'd appreciate it!!

      • +1

Im not sure what you mean by headset quality; if you just mean for taking calls, everything is A+, mics too.

Noise cancelation for the other party is minimal, but ive asked several and im never quiet or muffled. Just background noise, if you are out.

        • I'm referring to the quality of audio while the microphone is in use. That's the headset profile. The microphone doesn't necessarily need to be in use. I used to listen to music on Discord and mute myself. The audio was terrible due to my earphones' headset mode. On my PC I avoided it by using switching output devices in Discord to the non-headset device. Can't do the same on my phone unfortunately and it's more important on my phone where I can't use wired headphones.

It's good to hear that it's good! Really appreciate your response.

          • +1

@Pneen: It's a problem with Windows and the headset profile when you're in a call. It hasn't been fixed in years.

            Read this

So in the case of your situation, just make sure you're not using the headset profile while on Discord since you won't be using the mic. Otherwise yeah there's no work around unfortunately.

            • @CVonC: It's not just a problem with Windows.

Take all reviews with a grain of salt, reviews are incentivised.

    • These are great headphones, this is one product I tell all my friends about. A steal at this price.

    • Mine's not.
Ive tried probably 8 or so different models sub $100; and these are easily top of my list.
A few are on-par, and up to opinion, but none ive found standout above these.
      Especially without going canal-phones.

Recommended to 3 different mates, and all have been thrilled.
As above, downsides are weaker BT antennas, and extremely sensitive mics, so people will hear your background too (but its super clear if your area is quiet)

I have them and I like the size and deep sounds. But the microphones suck. Can't compare to my apple Airpods for phone calls, but fine for music. And my airpods did get run over by a car in the case, and the case is scratched up but still works fine lol.

    • Agree with this - I've had two sets of true air 2, they are excellent but the microphone is weak on both.

Not terrible, but definitely a bit muffled compared to normal headsets.

Some early true air 3 reviews say its fixed on these models but I haven't tried them yet.

  • $32.39 is a pretty decent price.

  • +1

I had Truefree2. Returned it because the microphone was definitely unusable

  • Great product, been using mine for a while now

  • aww shucks literally just bought the air3 for $44 a couple hours ago..now $39.82

    • +1

I was gonna cry but thankfully I got mine during the 12% upsized cashback from CR

      • Nice one! Do you know if I can cancel and purchase again?

        • If it hasn't been shipped yet, you should be able to.

          • +1

@CVonC: Thanks I cancelled my air3 $44.24 order and bought again at $39.82

    • Same boat, mine says hasn’t shipped, can we cancel that one and repurchase?

      • I cancelled my air3 $44.24 order and bought again at $39.82

  • Wow, I bought mine for ~$44 and thought that was cheap. I have a few issues if anyone could help me.

I hear white noise when listening to music. It’s very faint but I can’t not notice it. It’s noticeable because the white noise turns off when I’m not listening to music but comes but on when I start to listen to any audio… is this normal?

It’s too loud on my iPhone 7. I’m using the lowest volume but it’s too loud, I would like to decrease the volume further but I can’t since I’m already at the lowest and going lower would just mute everything. Tho it’s fine on my pc but the white noise is really bothering.

Thinking of returning these unfortunately but other then those issues, they’re comfy and sound great!!! Especially at this price point

    • I cant say I have any of these issues, and i have insanely good hearing (both medically confirmed, and anecdotal after I spent 3 years blind).

I use foobar for my player, and tend to prefer OGG files over MP3 (if not using flac).

You could lower the gain on your music player app, in the equaliser?

As for white noise, this sounds like an old codec issue, can you change the codec you're using? AptX-HD tends to perform best.

  • Any idea if/when any new models are coming? I'm kind of holding off for a successor to the H1 or Trueengine 3 SE. Button is broken on my current pair and looking to upgrade.

    • +1

The H2 is out, is it considered a successor? I'll let you decide
      https://www.amazon.com.au/SoundPEATS-H2-Bluetooth-TrueWirele…

Not included in this sale by the looks of it

      • Thanks but it's not really a successor to either the H1 or TrueEngine 3 SE, due to the different form factor. Just hoping there's something on the horizon tbh.

        • Are you aware of the revision / update to the 3SE? They added a QC3040 chip, maybe mid-2021. Maybe not enough to entice you though.
          https://youtu.be/vAdHj1Dcobs

I had an issue with the fitment of the original 3SE and not a fan of touch controls, so I'm probably waiting for something that's never going to happen!

Sonic Pro doesn't seem to be a successor to the Sonic either & I think not on Amazon AU yet.

          • +1

@nismo: Thanks for that, I'll check out some reviews for the updated 3 SE.

            • @Hardicus: No worries, my go to for reviews is usually PickyAudio but other than this reference,
              https://youtu.be/jvnNWfBqsAw?t=811
I don't think he's done an update & he refers to the. K Tanaka review

Lmk if you find something better

  • These are excellent for the price.

  • are there any earbuds with physical buttons anymore? absolutely hate touch buttons on earbuds

    • I know the Sonic has buttons.

  • I'm showing $35.99..

What am I missing? Is there a code or the amount will adjust once I check out?

    • There's a 10% off coupon to box to tick.

Shows the price OP says in the checkout.

      • Ah. Yes - just noticed that after reading your reply.

        Thank you. 😀

  • +1

Owner of this. The pair broke and stop charging after 6 months I would not recommend it

    • +1

It says in the OP they have a 12 month warranty, did you take advantage of this?

      • Yeah they replaced it however my gut feeling is it will happen again

I had to show a video not charging upload to YouTube etc SA hassle

        • Mine stop charging after 6 months too.

  • Mine doesn't even last 8 hours and that's having it on during work for phone calls, pretty disappointed with battery life

    • +7

You're upset you dont get 8 hours on a device that advertises 5? Why?

  • Just went to buy but looks like I missed out. Any chance it will go on sale again?

    • +1

I think the Rep @spcoker needs to update the listings

This deal is supposed to last a few more days but the base sale prices ended last night with Amazon's Boxing Day promo…

      • +2

Thanks nismo. Just noticed it looks like they are back at the reduced price. There is now option to apply 30% coupon.

  • It looks like this deal has expired.

  • Ordered the 30th, received today. Wife already asking me to but her a pair! Impressed is an understatement.
