  • How is this for blowing up a sup?

    • +2

Will overheat after 10 minutes tbh
Sup would be better with a hand pump

I don't know if they need much pressure (I assume not), but you may be better off with a high flow inflator like this:
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-high-volu…
      460L/min
Won't inflate things to high pressure though.

SUP requires high volume and pressure (12-15PSI). Need a special pump. Could use a cheap high volume one to get it half way and then the rest by hand.

      • This, you need a very high flowrate (which typically also comes with lower pressure). For anyone wondering, the Xiaomi 1S has a claimed flowrate of 15L/min. Other compact battery-powered car tyre pumps and the original Xiaomi pump can be as slow as 7L/min. It would take you forever to pump up something with a lot of air volume (resulting in overheating), these are simply not designed for that.

      What's sup?

    • +1

I was after something to inflate my Kings SUP after the pump that came with it broke.
I looked into quite a few options, eBay, AliExpress, car shops.

I was after the quickest way to inflate it.
This is what I settled on for a fair price that does the trick.

Kings Thumper Max (300L/min) was the best bang-for-buck SUP inflator I found

I paid $109 after coupon and discounted gift cards https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/402298221351
It also works as a car tyre inflator.

I just shove the unrestricted hose into the board and it fills out the board in about 60 seconds, then I use the SUP Pump Adapter to get it up to 15psi. It takes less than 10 minutes total.

With just the SUP Pump Adapter, it took at least 12 minutes to inflate at the servo, as the tyre pump didn't feel the backpressure for quite a while, so I had to keep pressing the "Flat Tyre Only" Button.

  • What's the difference between the Global Version (GL) and the China Version (CN)?

    • +3

The instructions or manual are in English with the global version other than that they're the same.

      • Excellent, thanks. I missed out on the 20% cashback, but noticed the price has dropped to US$38.59 (~A$53.88) for the CN.

        • +1

It adds GST at checkout so $42.45 total

Can this updated version be used while it's plugged into a power source?

    • +4

I just tested my 1S, no it cannot (just as I expected). The pump controls are unresponsive and it won't turn on while charging. I even tried initiating the pumping and then connecting the USB-C cable — the pump immediately shuts down as soon as it is plugged in to the power source.

Legend! Thanks for trying that out and reporting back.

Happy to help! It's good to document stuff like this.

  • can I pump up bicycle, motorbike and car tyres with this?

no, but it can pump up your blow up doll

    • Yes
