Game description

Get ready for a new train adventure as you travel across Europe with ticket to ride - Europe, the new edition of the worldwide hit from days of wonder. From Edinburgh to Constantinople and from Lisbon to Moscow, the game will take you on a ride to the great cities of turn-of-the-century Europe. More than just a new map, ticket to ride - Europe features brand new gameplay elements including tunnels, ferries and train stations.

Plus, we've upgraded you to first-class accommodations with larger cards, new train station game pieces, and a lavishly illustrated game board. Like the original, the game remains elegantly simple, can be learned in three minutes, and appeals to both families and experienced gamers.

Ticket to ride - Europe is a complete, new game and does not require the original version. It is for 2 to 5 players, and it takes 30-60 minutes to play

Good price but having played both I would recommend Ticket to Ride: Europe over the original, for the bigger sized cards alone.

      • But have the expansion packs been rereleased with bigger sizes cards too?

        Eg the Big Cities set.

  • Showing as $74 now.

    • They seem to have got some more. Just checked again and grabbed one at $39.99.

  • Damn, showing up as 74.99 for me. Possibly OOS?

    that was quick :)
will keep an eye out and unexpire, if it comes back in stock

    • I just bought the original for $49, maybe edit deal for original version

I've owned this for years and it is a great gateway game. It's better balanced than the original ticket to ride map. The reduced number of 5 and 6 length routes puts the right amount of emphasis back on completing route tickets. Stations bring welcome interactivity and soften the impact of getting blocked, making the game less cut throat. Tunnel routes add a push-your-luck element.

    • excellent description
almost tempted to copy and paste your description, if this game is posted again

  • It’s also great for 2 people but I think it would be more hectic and challenging with more players.

I just hope for those who bought it, that it’s not a counterfeit copy. But even then I think it’s still playable.

    • 2 and 4 are the easier player counts, 3 and 5 are more difficult.

      • Why would 4 be easier than 3 or 5?

        • In 2 and 3 player games the double routes are considered single routes, meaning only one player can build between two cities.

          • @[Deactivated]: Ah completely forgot about double routes. I only play at 3 player.

Bought this at the last Amazon sales. Really good game.

Even bought the Android version which I play regularly now as you don't have to spend time setting up the physical board game

    What is a "gateway game"?

    • +3

Google "gateway drugs" and replace drugs with boardgames

Ticket to Ride is a "German style" boardgame. These sorts of games are designed to be fun, involve a mixture of luck and skill (so that less skilled players can still win, but your odds are better if you are skilled), a variety of strategies, and be completable in a decent amount of time (say less than an hour).

Ticket to Ride has these features, and is highly recommended as a "gateway boardgame" for those new to German style boardgames because the rules are relatively simple.

    • One of. Must haves in a collection for me: Ticket to Ride, Betrayal at House on the Hill and Catan.

  • Has anyone tried buying off ebay?
