      if you have other apple devices in the ecosystem, some may find apple devices better.

      Otherwise s22 ultra for better screen, cameras (subjective post-processing results) - zoom levels (I found zoom is great for taking photos of wildlife on s21 ultra), but performance is unconfirmed for now.

      Neither, get an iPhone 11 pro and save your pocket if you don’t mind it’s less flashy specs. Personal opinion!

        +1 for that. My iPhone 11 Pro 256GB was a really good buy. The 5.8” size is perfect, I don’t really like phones any bigger. Triple cams are sick, OLED screen is nice, and the battery is amazing. It was crazy good battery when it was new, and after 2 years at 84% battery health it is still very manageable. I never have battery anxiety.

          I defs would've preferred the non max, holding out for usb c, else i'll just keep using this

          Omg i got the iPhone 11 Pro 256Gb too lol, my only issues atm is
          (1) I got a lot of junk so somehow the Space is used a lot and Free space is getting reduced, that’s even having iCloud space too. Need to figure out how to manage this as over time (photos/videos) accumulate then what do you do, then I feel like I wish I had gotten a bigger size phone
          (2) as I don’t want to damage my phone; I get a tough case so it kinda makes it look like a iPhone pro max lol

          yes I agree, I bought this phone initially due to the size however I feel like downsizing to the mini lol

      13 Pro and Pro Max have the differences already listed but another one is because the notch is slightly taller, the display when in landscape is cut off a bit when watching videos in landscape on the Pro, no issues on the Max.

      This wasn’t an issue with the 12’s for both models.

    Jks… I was a life long Android user and moved to 13 Pro Max and loving the experience. The battery is insane. Sometimes even takes me to a 3rd day with normal use and the slab like design is beautiful

      Literally the only thing keeping me from iPhone these days is the lightning cable. Even the price is reasonable when you consider how much life you can (theoretically) get out of it vs android. And this is coming from a Nexus/Pixel fan (Nexus S, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6P, Pixel 2, Pixel 5)

        I understand but to be honest, I haven't felt an big issues. I have this bed side wireless charger where I charge the phone after a couple of days and the battery is so good that I've never felt the need to charge the phone during the day. Car has a wireless charger too so I've literally never used the lightning cable since I bought the phone at launch in September

        Really don’t have an issue with it. It’s an extra cable. Switched all chargers to USB C. So when out an about USB C charger, USB C cable and a USB C to Lightning Cable. Most people would bring two USB C cables so still same quantity of cables.

        If that is the only thing holding you back, don’t let it.

          when literally everything else in my life (including my iPad Air) uses USB-C, I really have no intention of going backwards since I travel with one GaN charger and one USB-C cable. Right now my pixel 5 is fine and there's no justification for a new phone, but regardless I'm jumping on iPhone once my P5 dies. It'll just be a bonus if they finally decide to retire lightning for USB-C on the 14

            @chartparker: Ok so for the sake of one cable you are hinging your buying decision on a cable that cost less than $20 and weighs less than 50grams.

            Not going backwards if you bring a lightning cable and a USB C cable… think about the luxury that you can charge two things at once now… your iPad Air and your new iPhone.

              @jlogic: Way to miss my point entirely. No matter which way you slice it, proprietary connectors are a huge pain in the ass and requiring a single unique connector for one single item (out of maybe 12 others that all share the same connector) is going backwards. At least the EU seems to agree.

              Also the argument of charging two things at once is a false benefit compared to having USB-C connectors on everything, since I could charge 2 of ANY of my things if I had two USB-C cables concurrently, rather than limited to 1 + iPhone.

              Also don't forgot that lightning is limited to 480Mbps, which is a right royal PITA when transferring photos and videos which I do a lot of since I take thousands of family photos regularly. And no, that's not an exaggeration. Just because most people aren't limited by lightning transfer speeds doesn't mean that I fall under that category.

              Anyway I'm probably going to get an iPhone next anyway (as I already said), but like I said I have no justification for it right now since my pixel is doing the job perfectly fine for now

              @jlogic: it's not even owning x amount of cables, its the convenience of not worrying about what cable

              having random cables throughout the house (and car) and being able to pick it up and start charging seamlessly without going 'oh got to get my lightning cable from my room to use it at the kitchen' is just better.

              if you have multiple charging points/locations you now have to have 2 cables there instead of one. and if you go somewhere else you got to make sure you have the right cable and not just 'a cable'

              guess you won't notice it if you only charge your phone at the one location, but I definitely felt like I went backwards from type c to lightning, I bought a type c phone for my partner too and they're amused at how the MacBook, phone, earbuds, and their headphones all use the same charging port, so can charge it whenever (living room or bedroom) with just 1 cable at each location.

              the upside is apple watch… whenever they release an iPhone with type c I'll definitely get it, till then I'll keep using the current iPhone 11 Pro Max, and if it breaks then I'll probably go back to using my androids

                Didn’t mention anything about the issues. I can’t control what Apple do.

                I have an iPad Pro so yes it is a pain and would love to move everything over to a single connector. But I wouldn’t base my buying decision on that though.

                  @jlogic: There are lot of factors when making a purchase, just cause the charging port is a strong reason does not mean it's the only one. The inconvenience could be the tipping point where someone choses a complete different operating system over the IOS. (Guess the only other option is android, right?)

                  Apple was seen as the simple easy to use ecosystem, not having to fuss around as much was a selling point for the iPhone (least to me), and the charging port is now one point contradicting that, with type c being everywhere else. We know there is no reason to keep lightning port other than profits from the MFI program, hence why people mention it so much. Such a huge company is refusing to move forward, so people 'protest' for a change for the better.

                  Back in the days major electronic companies came together and agreed that proprietary charging cables were getting out of hand and agreed that they'll settle on a single port type to be used, Apple agreed then did not follow the agreement. Now the EU (European Union) has asked all manufactures to use type c charging ports, hence my positive outlook towards the type c iPhone.

Yes it's a valid reason to affect my buying decision because i have exactly zero other products that use lightning cables and would have to invest in some if I don't want to be stuck in the "crap I don't have the correct cable with me right now" situation. It introduces more issues than "just one cable" unless I literally decide to strap that one cable to my phone so I always have it with me.

                  Wireless chargers aren't always the answer because I don't have any and would have to invest in those as well for literally just a phone.

                      I know for some this is an issue and for me personally it isn’t. I personally will not make a buying judgement because of a port. I rather have all the other things that the product brings to the table, not going to let a connector stop the buying process.

                        @jlogic: Well yeah, if you wanted the iPhone you'll buy an iPhone, but if you were deciding between two different phones, it could be a deciding factor. With the EU thing going on it's especially worth noting since we're expecting type c iPhones in the future (soon tm), and someone (like me) may want to hold out for that. So I guess its more of 'don't get these iPhones' cause it's a bad time rather than f iPhones.

                        If someone was a big fan of wireless charging they wouldn't care, since they only have to manage the charging docks, and not lightning versus other cables. (personally, wireless is still a hit n miss tho)

                        type c is just the plug, apple could still use whatever technology they want to charge the phone
