  • I am trying again but it now seems like EDS and MA5 code do not stack anymore - does anyone else experience this?

    $999 (Price of the phone)
    - $99.9 (10% off)
    - $250 (Trade in Bonus)
    - $415 (Trade in value of my phone)
    - $100 (Loyalty code)
    - $50 (Newsletter code)

should be $84.1 but the website gives $134.1.

When I enter $50 Newsletter code as the last step, the website gives this error:
"The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions."

Is there a minimum value for the final price? =/

    • +1

Yes, the newsletter voucher needs an order of $350+.

Otherwise, rip me for waiting for their silly accessories voucher to work.

      • Oh yeah!!! I need to look for an old device worth less…… Thanks for sharing the tip

        • +1

          iPhone 7 looks good… $5 haha.
Worth a fair bit more on the market.
Or just try adding a bit of damage to your current device's value.

          • @Techie4066: mate that's brilliant, I was trying to look for IMEI of my mum's phone - Didn't think of just recording damage to my device!

  • +1

Got charged the $60 admin fee for not trading in plus the original 40 my phone was valued. I had an email from them stating it would only be the trade in value charged back. Have sent an email to Samsung to follow up.

    • Can you let us know how it goes once they reply? I think I will be in similar situation. thanks! and good luck

      • From previous chats experience, No am happy to pay $ 65

        • what did you say to receive a $100 loyalty code?

  • Doesn't accept debit cards, is that a new thing?

    • The app seems to have a bit of a problem.

  • Is this a new policy? Since when did they not allow debit cards?

    • The app. Try a debit but it didn't work for me and others.

  • Trying to buy now, but having trouble getting trade-up code. Getting error "we're sorry but your device is ineligible for the Samsung trade-up program"

    Tried on
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Wifi - should have worked! Does it only work on tablets with sim card?
Samsung Galaxy A7 (has Lineage instead of Samsung ROM running so maybe that is why).
iPhone 4 (no surprise it doesn't work).

Any ideas to get trade-up working on tablet?

    Thanks!

  • how to get this newsletter code. Tried multiple times with different mail ids never got it. Any trick?

    • +1

i tried 2 email addresses, neither came through. however it does say it can take 24-48 hours.. maybe it takes some time.

but as per other suggestions i emailed the support address [email protected]

they replied about 45 minutes later to provide a code:

"Samsung Australia has received notice that you have yet to receive the requested $50 Marketing Opt-In Voucher Code to be used on purchases of over $350 on the Samsung Online Store.

It appears that you have successfully registered, however, your email provider may have blocked emails from our promotional account.

We appreciate your patience in this matter and are happy to manually provide the below code for use:"

I know it may sound crazy but I traded in S21+5g I got in December

while in store the Plus felt OK, in real life it turned out to be too big and heavy for me

I just got the S21 FE today, and I like it more than S21+5g. slightly more compact, lighter

same storage, but free new headphones, all for $54 delivered, so I think it's a great deal for something that got released a few days ago

  • Here's an EDS code, please comment when you've used it

    EDS-A5M5-4FG5-FBAD

    • +1

      Used thanks

  • After all this dicking around to get codes and devices going out of stock then codes invalid… I'm done with trying to score a deal from them.

    • +1

agreed its pretty convoluted…. trying to hunt down an old device that is eligible, and that actually works with the crappy trade up app.. i will keep trying though because its a good deal if you can…

    • Fair enough. Samsung makes it a pain because they couldn't sell it to everyone at this price.

  • would it be possible to do the trade-in bonus without having eligible phone at all?

    • i don't think it would be possible. to be able to trade-in, you need to install the trade-up app on an eligible device, and for it to provide the code.

i am having trouble doing this even with a device that should be eligible :(

    • Borrow a phone or find an eligible damaged one on Gumtree :)

      • good idea… i basically could pay someone to install the app, and get the coupon code for me.. i have no intention of sending the device back anyway.

      • Thanks for the info. Too bad i dont have any to borrow.. Buying unused at market doesnt seems good enough

  • how does this work? I got a 100 code from live chat, but they said only samsung old ones, i have an iphone 7, would this not work with the code or something if i try stack? please help im confused. do i need a samsung galaxy s7 to trade in or s8??

    • +1

you need a phone that can install and verify using the Samsung trade-up app. an iphone 7 looks like it would work.

i tried to stack trade-up code, and loyalty code, but i don't know if it worked. its very confusing when checking out in the cart as to where all the discounts are coming from.

i think the list of phones you can trade-up with is on the following link, "discover your trade up value"
      https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-s21-5g/galaxy-…

    Thanks OP

    S21FE 5g 128g
    Free buds

    $594

    $100 voucher via live chat
    Didn't wait for the newsletter

The above includes the likely admin fee for non return of device

  • +1

Thanks for sharing. I got one.

Got a $100 coupon off the chat - just asked for an EDS loyalty coupon as I was looking to upgrade. They asked what phone and I have an old note so that seemed fine.

Found a $50 newsletter coupon from ages ago in one of my emails so used that.

Used a $20 trade in for an old note with damage - even if not sent in it'll be an extra $80.

Ended up being $479.10 - will probably sell the buds as I already have a pair. Had been looking at the ultra but this was too good a price and I am not a heavy phone user so all the features on the ultra are not really needed orwill be used.

  • +2

Thanks op. Took a while to get the $50 newsletter voucher but got there after emailing them. Managed to add my A7 tablet for a phony $60 credit so I expect to have to be charged $120 to the trade in vendor after 10 days or so… unless they send some heavies around to pry it from me. $659 all up for the 128gb with the galaxy buds 2 and the 25w wall charger (FANEDITION worked too) gotta be happy. $539 for now before the trade in vendors get wise.

The extra $100 Loyalty code would be killer but have no old samsung wares to display.

    • Good to hear. You don't actually need an old Samsung to get the $100… You just ask.

  • Does anybody have a $50 newsletter code? Waited for a day, emailed them and still haven't got it. Thanks in advance.

  • How to stack loyalty voucher + Newsletter $50?

I got CDS not working for S21 FE

    • So the CDS is actually a Samsung Loyalty voucher for use with the top-of-the-line S21s.

Try jumping on live chat when the sales team is online from 8am I believe, and ask for the EDS $100 voucher.

      • Thanks Techie4066, I couldn't get MA….. Codes for newsletter signup.

Do you know how to get 1?

        • Yep, email [email protected] saying you didn't get it (they usually don't arrive). They responded to me within 15 minutes. Ensure you've actually subscribed for emails on the Samsung Online Store newsletter sign-up page for when they check.

  • Had a chat with a rep, received :"Unfortunately, we don't have any available $100 discount codes available as of the moment. You may want to check in with us again in a later date." Also now they want credit card for the trade in program not debit card, bullsht….

    • +1

No problem, some of the agents aren't too forthcoming.
      Just got you one: EDS-A541-BZ36-FZDB.
Please reply when you've used it :)

      • thanks, I got this

  • Has anyone been able to use the trade in code today? I got my code generated, but I can't get it to accept it since yesterday afternoon.
Keeps coming up with: "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • +2

I had same issue I logged in and out a few times switch off as blockers clear cookies frustrating as hell I swear Samsung so it deliberately,

took about 3 hours beginning to End including Samsung live chat to get $100 loyalty discount just told them I had note 8 no evidence required,

The alternative is to walk into jbhifi and pay $899 atm…

If you can claim the phone for work purposes then it might be worth checking out a Telstra plan deal that was posted today plus reading the comments seems to support this theory

  • @Techie4066
Have you done a math on Samsung upgrade plan, is it any good? Getting a new phone every year?

  • @Techie4066
Is Samsung not charging back the trade in bonus too if the old device were not sent back?

    • They are, and the device's value.
Not sure about Samsung's upgrade scheme, it's probably decent if you want to have the latest and greatest, and don't damage your phones.

      • Are you saying they are charging back the trade in bonus? So for non device send in, are they charging:

$60 admin fee + device value?

        Or

        $250 bonus + device value?

I have no intention of sending in my old device.

        • $60 admin fee + device value.
Not the bonus, otherwise people wouldn't be not sending the device back.
Without using the trade-up service at all, it's $749 using other vouchers with $50 free accessories thrown in as well, delivered - $100 cheaper than the Costco deal.

          • @Techie4066: Thanks. HK-sood asked about the bonus and your initial reply said they charge that back as well. I'm still waiting for the newsletter bonus. That's not looking promising even after emailing them. No reply still. May just bite the bullet as the sale finishes today.

            • @Obs: My mistake - shows that I can't read properly late at night.
It's the admin fee, not the bonus. Sorry.
I sent an email at 4:50pm one evening and got a response after 10 minutes. It shouldn't be more than a few hours.
The price after the end of this flash sale shouldn't change too much. The FANEDITION code is valid until 30 Jan.

              • +1

@Techie4066: Think the [email protected] email is only monitored business days. Oh well still a good deal.

                • @Obs: Try getting the newsletter code from live chat, telling them that the sale ends today and the store email won't get back in time.

  • Good deal

  • I requested a loyalty voucher by chatting with a Samsung agent. Was told that I'd receive the code via email within 24-48 hours but it never arrives after 2 days.

    • +1

That's why it's best to email [email protected] requesting it as soon as you subscribe.
If you want to buy without that voucher, it's still $50 cheaper than Costco (no trade-up).

  • What is everyone buying with the $50 free accessories now that the charger is on back order? Not sure if the $69 45W charger is worth the effort.

    • I got the already discounted Buds Live 50 off and I'll sell it for more.

  • +2

FYI for anyone trying to buy. You can no longer complete checkout because the buds2 are out of stock except in Olive. From the Samsung rep I live chatted "All of the colour for free buds is out of stock. You can try the Olive colour however it's pre order for February 18th."

    • +1

They're running out of everything at this point. Pretty bad for a 3 week promo, although maybe they're hit by stock shortages like everyone else.

    • It seems so weird that you can't remove the buds from the cart so you can proceed with the check out!

    • +1

Ah, that's very sad. I just got the loyalty code earlier as well and was going to buy tonight.

  • How to get the loyalty voucher?

    • Check here.

Do it before the sales team goes offline at 9pm tonight. They're the ones that provide the $100 EDS voucher.

  • Anyone has a code I can use?

    • Sure, here's one I got for someone else here but they didn't contact me back. EDS-A54N-NMB7-GGZN. This takes it to $799, which is $50 less than the Costco deal. If you manage to get the newsletter voucher, that takes another $50 off.

Use it before someone else does :)

  • What an absolute debacle of a system this trade up shambles is… All the Samsung Chat people want to do is fob me off back to Asurion. This is something Samsung are advertising as an offer ffs!! Sort it out!! End rant

    • Asurion runs trade-ins for Samsung just as Brightstar does it for Apple.
But I wholly agree - Asurion is a total mess when things don't go perfectly. You can try their email [email protected] or scrap that and just pay $749.

  • Ahhhrg…. I got the code from above applied in my cart and all good to go apart from the lengthy wait on the newsletter voucher (>1hr…) and I screwed it up placing another phone in the basket and now the code is gone. Does anyone have an EDS on hand to use by any chance?
    Have a good one ahead
    Matt

    • I'll get you one, just a few minutes.

      • That's awesome - thanks heaps!

        • Took longer than it should due to an unwilling agent. Here, use it b4 someone else: EDS-A54N-Z6AZ-3BBC.
Keep in mind you might have issues with Buds2 being out of stock in some colours.

          • +1

@Techie4066: Yes - appears to be an interesting concept - the customer can place stuff in the cart (S21FE plus buds2 placed automatically) and to apply codes, trade-ins etc. But on checkout it just tells about insufficient stock on buds2 (at least for black and white) and it is not going anywhere, uou cannot even remove the buds. Really badly done!

            • @MattHolm: It is. I was told Olive is on back-order and Lavender is still in stock so try those with the phone colour of your choice, if that's even possible.
The checkout experience is rather shonky.

              • @Techie4066: my online agent asked what colour i wanted (me - ideally black) - then proceeded to say only lavender is available!
Also, claimed they couldn't help with the $50 voucher.

  • Just sooo awesome! Thanks so much for your support - on track again, just hoping the $50 voucher comes through as well (but just doubt it…)!

    • +1

No problem! If you're still waiting on the newsletter, unfortunately it seems that support team is only online on weekdays.
You could just wait it out and see what sale is next, but you never know.

  • anyone have a spare email sign up code? Signed up but haven't received the code yet

  • So - might be a bit late to this deal, but just gathering info in case they have it again. I've never had such a flagship phone - or such a newly released phone My last few phones have been low/mid Motorola's sometime after release. A while ago i cracked the screen on the new one (even in case with screen protector), and was planning on still just using it, but recently the power button stopped working - and now its not functional at all. Had a guy at the mall look and he quoted $180 to try and fix, but no fix-no-fee - so i'm back to my old-old phone at the moment, and was considering new Motorola Edge Fusion for $399

What's the thoughts on Samsung Care? $125 for 2 years (50% off), and then you can get 2 swaps - paying $149 each time - but looking at the terms, you may just get a refurbished phone, not necessarily a new one. Anyone used it in the past? How was he quality of the replacement phone you got? Worth it? Or just wait for sweet deals like this to come along again.

  • +1

Thanks Op, managed to get the S21 FE 128 for $524. Pity I didnt get the newsletter voucher on time, subscribe yesterday no code received. That would've been awesome. This is top deal regardless!

    • What colour did you end up getting?

      • Got the lavender one mate for the wife.
