I asked the rep for loyalty voucher and they said only 50$ newsletter is available and nothing else. Anybody else had any luck?

    • +1

Yes, I managed to get one. They start with EDS. Newsletter starts with MA9, and $200 loyalty for damaged devices starts with CDS (only applicable for full-price S21s).

      • when did you get that? I just checked with an agent few mins ago

        • Last night. Things might've changed.

          • @Techie4066: what did you say?

          • @Techie4066: what did you say to them on the chat to get the EDS voucher mate?

            • +2

@U30004: Say you have an old Galaxy not eligible for trade-in.

              • @Techie4066: do they ask for a proof of the old galaxy phone?

                • @U30004: Nope. Not unless you have to email [email protected] with front/back photos and IMEI.

                  • +5

@Techie4066: I tried getting a loyalty voucher. They suggested I purchase a phone within my budget :D damn son

Edit: this was going through website chat not via email

                    • +2

@Ryansta: Yeah some of them are kinda rude or cbf'ed.

                    • +2

@Ryansta: try again with another rep, just say you have an old samsung and want to upgrade. please help with an EDS voucher

    • +2

I chatted last week and was told the same thing. Said they don’t give $100 loyalty voucher atm…

      • +2

I chatted last week got the same response as you, but chatted yesterday, they are back and I got the EDS code.

        • what's the EDS please? I will try get one too.

          • +2

@karlitos: Jump on chat and ask them for a $100 voucher so you can buy s21 FE. They will ask you what samsung phone you have, just tell them older version.

    • +2

I got one, but was told "Please be reminded that promotion code is valid within 30 days from today", when really, i just needed it for the S22 Ultra.

      Will it really expire?

    • +1

100% they told me this $100 loyalty thing was finished.

That was when I bought my S21 ultra a couple weeks ago.

I've used the loyalty thing a few times.

      • I've been told the same. Some agents are bad liars!!

        • DOGS!

I suppose they can have that one after me not sending back 4 or 5 trade ins lololol

    • +1

I was told Loyalty discount is for people with Samsung S10's and below to encourage them to buy a new Samsung. I expressed my lack of happiness over this policy and stated I will be buying an OPPO for a second phone. He then offer me a discount code for this deal and locked it to my email account.

      • Haha, healthy competition.

Some of the agents accept the "ineligible for trade-in" reason (generally other brand, or older flagships) for the voucher.

        • +1

The rep was pretty upfront. I know what they are trying to do, but I also think if I have an S20FE after spending years away from Samsung and wish to upgrade and have never had the loyalty discount before, then I should be able to get it (I don't want an S21FE, as my phone is pretty much the same, tried to get it for another member).

I spoke with Luke anyways. He tried to fob me off hard and i just stated to pass my feedback onto your experience team that I'm pissed and I will go and buy a new OPPO. He contacted his manager who approved it (without any evidence I had a Samsung phone). Problem is he wanted to lock it to my email

  • I'm not able to get that $250 trade in bonus, I only get a $35 discount for my phone

    • The bonus is on top of trade-in value. Apply the trade-up code in the cart.

      • Ah okay and where can I find that trade-up code? It doesn't show up on my screen

        • +1

Should show up in the final screen of the Samsung Trade-Up app. Mine starts with SA.

          • +1

@Techie4066: Thank you very much! the discount is applied once you put the phone into the cart

  • +1

this phone only has 256gb (max) and no memory card slot, is that right?

    • +2

Correct, it's more of an affordable flagship but no SD card slot is a downside for some.

256GB looks to be $90 more.

  • Is there anyway not to send in your old phone?

    • +3

just dont send it in. they will charge you for the value of old phone if you dont send it in

      • +5

they will add $60 administration fee on top of phone value.

      • +1

Not saying you're wrong, but I never got an email or any charges for my S10+ when I got a z flip 3

      • +1

Could use a burner credit card (like revolut app), so there is no possibility they can do a chargeback to your card (credit card number for 1 time use). My only concerns if you do this is they could elected a debt collection agency (high doubt this would happen) or if you made a warranty claim possible then they could ask for repayment.

I'm not advising either way, but Samsung is likely going to fix this very quickly if people keep doing it. I also know with trade value, someone whom visited a local phone stores and install the trade-in app on the Samsung display phone to get the code. Very sneaky

    • +1

      Yes - don't send it in ;)
Asurion, their trade-in contractor, is now charging a $60 admin fee, and perhaps the value of the device as well.

      • +2

        Value of device + $60

      • I have not got back the where to send it to stuff, i got the discount, does this take time?

    • +1

      send a new one

  • if you dont return the trade in device, do you just lost the device value but keeping the trade in bonus?

    • +2

Device value plus an additional $60 fee for not returning the phone.

      • thank you

      • So just report a fake tradein say for an iphone 7 ($5 tradein), then not trade it in and incur $65 addition? Is that right

        • I thought you needed to install their app so they get the details for the trade in

        • +2

bisaya is correct, you need to install the samsung trade up app on the device you want to trade in. It will do some assessments and ask you to use the camera to take some pictures to evaluate if there are any damages THEN it'll give you the trade up code.

And yes, if you dont send them the phone, it will be $65 assuming iphone 7 is valued at $5.

  • Is it much of an upgrade over an s20fe?

    • +7

Not at all. Don't bother in that case.

      • Thanks I was wondering the same

        • Wonder what the screen is like on the new, the old was messed since Day 1.

          • +1

@JonSteele: Exact reason mine got refunded after 5 months use and 5 SW updates to address it.

            • +1

@Techie4066: Yah they never really solved it just shoved it under the excuse file and started again.

  • +3

If you dont send your device, they will charge you $60 admin fee + the trade in value of your phone.

    • -1

Me too, been charged extra $60, not happy.

      • my phone's screen had a little crack and i sent it. Then they said, it doesnt meet criteria and said will charge me $60.
I wrote back saying its not fair and they said, they will refund if they charge me !!

        • Not arguing against you, but why do you think it was not fair if screen had crack?

P.S. Hope you did not get charged, or if so you were refunded.

          • @ozhunter68: I didnt say that.
I only told them to return the phone, if they are charging me ! and then they said they will refund me if they charge !!

Intention was to help anyone in similar situation and not to bring attention to my issue.

            • +1

@bkoolrocks: Gotcha. The point was that you were charged the $60 On Top of losing your phone.

For others better not to send in phone and just be charged the fees, if the app let's you

              do that?

  • How does the camera on this phone compare to say Pixel 6 and other high end camera phones?

    • +2

Quality is worse, and a lot of people say Google's computational photography processing is unbeatable. This has 3 lenses compared to the standard P6's two, adding a telephoto. The main camera is 12MP instead of the 50MPs on the Pixel 6s, and the telephoto is 8MP compared to the Pro's 48MP.
Samsung photo colours are rather vivid, often unrealistically so. Just depends what you like.

      • +1

Samsung photo colours are rather vivid, often unrealistically so.

Easily remedied by turning off automatic scene mode. If anything, Google's computational photos are unrealistic for a camera, as it sees more than a human eye can see and more than a bunch of cameras put together can see, so it's highly unrealistic hey.

  • +1

Pixel 3xl trade in value $20 wtf lol

  • Anyone able to work out how much i'd pay if I trade in Pixel 5?

    • Mint condition $220 using this estimate calculator.
You get that if you actually trade it in, on top of $250 bonus. Also avoids the $60 admin fee charged in the event you don't send it in.

      • So if i'm seeing this right.

        $1099 RRP
        - $109.90 (10% discount)
        - $220 (pixel)
        - $250 tradein bonus
        total = $519.1
Make it $579.1 if I don't send the Pixel 5.

        hmmmm tempting

        • +2

It'll likely be $579 + $220 Pixel value if you don't send it in - but you can lessen that value by saying it has damage in the app. I don't have experience myself but Asurion is said to be charging these fees now. Unless you can weasel your way out of it with a good story somehow.

Nice neg someone. You aren't game enough to try a little story? lmao

    • Click buy now and you can estimate your device.
      $220

  • Has anyone that has gotten one in hand, can confirm if this is a dual sim or single sim? I've been getting mixed answers on this.

  • +2

Honestly these guys are useless "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    Anyone else getting these?

    • +1

Asurion is hopeless when something inevitably goes wrong. There have been reports of this error popping up when you've attempted a trade-in before.

    • Are you reusing a phone?

  • How much time it takes to receive $50 marketing voucher after subscribing?

    • +3

Email [email protected] saying you didn't get it (because they usually don't arrive). They responded to me within 15 minutes.

    • +1

      1hr in my experience

    • Try protonmail account

  • +1

I bought my S21 Ultra 256gb for $469 one month ago, still haven't got charged for not trading in my old phone.

    • +1

Same here, no emails asking me to send it in or charging me. I wonder how long it takes

      • My thought exactly, cause did the app last night no message, instantly emailed samsung please explain.

    • +2

They will charge. I got charged after 2 months

    • Hot dam, wasn't looking for a phone 1 month ago, but now need one, you got a killer deal!

      • +2

yeah there was like a 2 hour window where you get extra $300 bonus (a glitch?) on top of $500 trade in bonus and $500 discount which brings the price down to $469 + S10 trade in for me.

        • I'd love an ultra, you been happy with it?

          • +1

@Flyufools: Absolutely, super fast and super awesome cameras. Only downside is no sd card.

  • +2

I managed to get the loyalty voucher and ordered the phone without any problems. thanks OP

    Discount = 250 + 100 + 50 + Free buds

  • Does the trade in bonus just give you $250 off if it's a recent model phone? I have an S5 and S6 sitting there. Anyone know if they would be eligible?

    • +2

      S9 or up is eligible.

You can get the $100 aged phone loyalty voucher for this deal, or a $200 damaged Galaxy voucher only for the expensive S21.

      • +2

        S8 or up

  • Does anyone know how to check whether this is the snapdragon or exynos version? I am completely stumped by samsung website.

    • +2

It's the Exynos 2100 for our market (unfortunately - or maybe not for some of you). Confirmed by Harvey Norman listing.

      • Cheers m8

  • Any thoughts about whether the Galaxy S22 will come with any deals when it likely drops next month?

    • +1

Very likely not right at the start after they start shipping, but the S21 should be on clearance if they still have stock.

  • Still waiting for the FANEDITION code to work.. =')

    • +1

Me too. I'm emailing back and forth with Samsung (not AU) promotions department trying to prove the existence of that promotion. PITA.
