I have this monitor. It's pretty good for budget 1440p. The only con (not really) is that the monitor has no built-in speakers.

    • +3

most monitors don't, not even the $2999 Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo has built-in speakers.

      • I have two dell monitors and they both have speakers, honestly never use them tho since the audio is sub par

Why would people care about terrible built-in speakers when purchasing a gaming monitor..?

      • -1

Yeah it's not really a con.

      • It wasn't always this way. The speakers on my 15 year old Samsungs are really good. That monitor does double duty as a TV as it has a tuner and extra inputs. Picture quality is….`15 year old TFT….good for that era but not like the IPS. It's the obsession with tiny bezzels that ruined PC monitor speakers.

      • Sorry, no clue. But they did advertise it on their listing, so they must have an ABN

  • Anyone know if this is of the lucky few monitors that trick the PS5 into outputting a 4K signal?

    • I'm looking for a suitable monitor for my PS5, would this be it?

Garbage for ps5/Xbox needs to have hdmi 2.1 input for 144hz

Garbage for ps5/Xbox needs to have hdmi 2.1 input for 144hz

        Neither console supports 144hz.

      • 120hz is fine. Just waiting on 1440p support on PS5. My 1440 LG ultra gear however tricks the ps5 into outputting 4K and it looks amazing. Or for 120fps games like Fortnite - 1080p.

      • needs to have hdmi 2.1 input

        Know any that's 27" that isn't 4k?

  • According to my records
This was $319.20 in March 2021

So still a decent purchase being nothing is usually in stock or jacked up like mad

  • Got this last year for $315.90, happy with it for both gaming & graphics work. There was a $50 Steam gift card promo at the time through the aocmonitorspromotion site which gg.tech did participate in

Anyone know how this compares to the Dell S2721DGF going on sale for $429 tomorrow?

    • Where is that happening?? I'm in the market for a S2721DGF

        • +1

          Thanks!!

Also, the research I did suggests the Dell is worth the extra $$.

          • @nstyle: It's no longer available on Dell eBay, unfortunately.

          • @nstyle: Agreed!

          • @nstyle: With the $50 gift card, it's $292 which is significantly cheaper than the S2721dgf. What research did you find that makes it worth the extra $135~?

Been eyeing the Dell for a while but now I'm not sure it's more worth it than this.

            • @suzeia: $30*

I've just spent hours researching and I still don't know

              • +1

@suzeia: I was mainly looking at the 'Hardware Unboxed' reviews on Youtube and rtings. It was a few weeks back, but everything suggested that the Dell was a little more premium than the AOC. The Dell uses the same panel as the LG 27GL850 which also gets a pretty good rap. I guess it depends what you're going to use it for. I have the AOC 27G2 and I have no issues with it, so I don't think buying this one is going to be a bad choice by any means.
Also half the reason I'm in the market for a new monitor is because my Dell U2412M died on me after about 8 and a half years of service, so I'm a bit biased because that monitor was amazing.

    • I would go for Dell if there is mere 75 dollars difference.

      • Saw someone link above the other ozb post for dell. The S2722QC is $369… Any advantage of a 27" dell IPS like this over an alternative like the AOC branded? I.e. the AOC locally being sold is 31.5" for a basic $309 (discounts for me normally $349) qhd monitor.

Is the dells quality much better than AOC and the extra few dollars is worth it?

        • I have AOC 31.5 inch curved Gaming monitor. Colour accuracy on this unit is not good at all. I have tried to change settings but the colours are not accurately displayed. Thats the only reason I would prefer Dell because I didn't have this issue with Dell or even LG.

  • Very happy with my pair of them.
