This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app. Please see the archived thread (January 2017 - January 2022) for previous discussions.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

    Seems like the gravy train has finally came to a halt. The app just shows the "Searching for best price" bubble indefinitely, not even A01 error.

      It's still working (iOS). Try shutting down the app or reset your phone.

        My dude, this is after reinstalling everything from scratch. Both old and new images have same issue. Android, diff versions.

            @jv: yeah I think they implemented play integrity check in the android app and it's farking things up - it's popping up as a notification on a real device when the app starts.

                  @smartialarts: The problem is that you're emulating. Impossible to pass device integrity checks when emulated.

      Literally just had one. They're garbage. Wouldn't go back another tbh.

      Was really excited when I found out Japan 7-11 took over 7-11 Aus but am disappointed with the quality of the onigiri. Not like the ones in Japan.

        Also, onigiri's in Japan start at 130 yen for the tuna mayo which is about $1.40 to $1.50 at current exchange rate, while they are $4.50 here. Hard pass. I'd rather make my own at home, it's not hard.

    Anyone else getting A01 errors? The setup I've been running has worked fine up until now. Old iPhone running iOS 15.0.2, location set using iFakeLocation/3utools and confirmed using maps. I tried multiple reboots, turning off both wifi and bluetooth, swapping in my sim and using mobile data but it's still giving me A01 when locking. I'm located in Melb and trying to lock prices in Geelong. Are they doing region checks within the same state now?

      Having same issue, I use the Nox emulator and I am getting A02 errors, trying to lock Geelong from VIC also

      Tried for a solid 30 minutes yesterday - old iOS device, two location changing applications, vpn on and off, wifi/Bluetooth, same state different state - all unsuccessful.
      A few hours later account banned despite not locking in.
      Seems as if they're cracking down

      Not sure what resolved it. Thought I would try it again after a few hours and moved my virtual location closer to my real location and was finally able to lock with iFakeLocation. No other app/device changes since the failed attempts earlier.

    My VM doesn't seem to load the app properly - gets stuck loading with no information and i can't select a fuel lock (the screen is green with no text). Been like that for two days. Anyone else experience the same?

      They've added a lot of tracking and security features. Namely kochava tracking and Google play integrity checking. All of your device info is sent to their api and it makes a decision of whether or not to allow you to lock.

      Unless you can pass play integrity on an emulator (impossible afaik), youll need to use an old phone and root it, install magisk, shamiiko, HMA, Hide mock Location, GPSSetter, Device ID Changer (or androidfaker), and PlayIntegrityFix. Ive been intercepting the http and it looks like its impossible to pass without your device passing play integrity (module doesn't work on an emulator).

      I can still lock interstate, I just make sure to wait at least 24 hours before use in those cases.

            @griffy: So how are you spoofing around IP location restriction? Are you locking on android or iphone? They seem to check your IP location against store that you are locking.

        I tried today to locked the interstate fuel price however the app gives me error. Afterwards tried within state and it worked. i have used 3utool to modify my location however not sure why the interstate is not working. It was working before (last time i used it couple of months ago)

    Don't know anyone still uses 7/11 to fill up. Shell is way cheaper when you factor in the 8 cent docket and AFL app discount.

      Depending on where you live, past comments suggest Shell can be the most expensive so 7/11 may still come out cheaper even after Shell discounts so YMMV. But yeah, I haven't been fuelling up at 7/11 for a long time now- Shell discounts (4c+4c) plus Special GC discount and FB points is better than 7/11.

      How do you get 8 cents docket?

        Our Coles Express is nearly always cheaper than 7/11 these days, especially with the 8c off.

        The only time 7/11 is cheaper is when the price jumps and I lock in.

      AFL 10c/L offer is only valid until 24march then it goes back to 4c/L which won't make up the difference between shell and other stations since Shell has a huge price markup.

        Shell near Costco's usually match their fuel price, lately using 4c/l at Shell, I filled at 158.9 c/l

      The state and fuel drop downs LOOK blank, but it’s actually white text on a white background! Hover your mouse over the blank area and the text will appear!

      Geoport and ifakelocation just don't change the location on my phone.
      iAnyGo did also work for me.

    Have a funny situation with the A01 error. usually ifakelocation works when I'm at home. I tried doing it at a friend's home and A01 appeared. I VPN'd home and could successfully lock in. It seems it's somehow associated with my IP where I can lock in as long as I'm using my home IP.

      Another possibility could be your ISP's Point-of-Interconnect. Your POI might be Melbourne, while your friend's might be Sydney - as an example.

        Thanks for the idea. My A01 issues were because my home ISP's POI is different to my location. Ended up using hotspot instead.

    Hi guys, is there further discount on top of the locked prices as my local servo has a pretty good price

    Been reading threads but I can't really find out myself as I'm dealing with error code A01, A02 and E36 in 5 mins that I've tried even before without getting into all that privacy/gps settings etc.

    Never had issues locking same state before but today I did (A01 error). I was on home nbn while simulating location with geoport, then switched to phone hotspot and locked. Seemed to work ok

    Was going to reply to Vu's post re: refinery, but can't reply on the old thread…

    Anyone having issues with refinery.fyi? In particular, the map values don't seem to be updating or reflect current values.

    Separately (though this is probably more a PC issue than a website issue), on some PCs, I find it is somehow not possible to click into the individual stations to get their prices. I have the hand hover symbol, but it doesn't change to the hand point symbol. Maybe the target on each station is too small and it could be made bigger? I've found even on PCs where it does work, sometimes it's tricky to get the symbol to change, even when zoomed in a lot.

      I've had a look at a few stations around the country on the map and they appear to be fine for me.

      I've increased the target size for each pin so now you can click close to the pin but not necessarily on the pin itself.

        Thanks for the update! Definitely easier to click the pins now.

        As for the station and heatmap, I think it was/is a PEKAC issue, (or alternatively, a lack of familiarity with the UI issue haha.) I noticed the prices appeared to be for the current U91 prices. I haven't used refinery in a while (haven't needed to), but as I don't use it for U91, I usually use it to lock up U98 and I seem to recall, in the past, the heatmap values changed depending on what type of fuel you clicked. It doesn't seem to do that anymore, though I explored a bit more and found the button underneath the price that seems to do just that. Now it's all working as expected.

        Just so I know, has that part of the UI./UX changed at all? I don't recall ever having to click the button below the price to get the values to change to that fuel type, it used to do it automatically from what I can recall.

    Starting get A01 errors after years of no problems. Used android studio previously but apps like geoport, iAnyGo weren't working on wifi but a quick switch to another network seemed to fix (data etc.)
