Apple iPad Mini Wi-Fi 64GB (6th Gen, 2021) $670.20 ($653.45 eBay Plus) Delivered @ Sydneymobiles eBay

Was looking at one of these, usually not much discounts at retail from the $749 RRP, but found this as the cheapest in a while. Jacked for the current eBay promo, but works out cheaper overall once discounts applied.

Also if you get 2+ items, you get a further $5 off :D

So rrp is $749 and they jacked to $837? Wouldn't they get into trouble with that?

You're SOOL if you think eBay cares.

    Jackm3up has entered the chat.

  • Is this the latest iPad mini?

  • Why does it cost more than the normal-sized iPad?

    • +8

Better screen, better SOC. Just a much better device all around.

Think of it as a iPad Air Mini. Although it actually has a newer SOC than the current iPad Air (which is due for an upgrade)

iPad without any extra name is the povo ipad. iPad mini much higher level of features. And in a smaller package.

  • +4

It's $669 at Apple edu btw.

    • +3

plus extra saving from gift cards :)

      • Any suggestions to which gift cards and how to obtain?

Ebay plus deal seems slightly better than edu. Sadly doesn't include the free airpods.

        • You can buy gift cards via this offer, then go to JB and use them to buy Apple Gift cards :)

        • Woolies/coles have had their 20x points on offer frequently, which is like an extra 10%.

        • No free AirPods for iPad mini anyway. Check offering.

  • What is the camera in this like compared to in a high end smart phone?

    • +3

Not as good. Usually iPads feature cameras from older iPhones.

    • Average. The Pro model has a good camera.

    • +2

Not as good, because nobody should use the cameras on this other than for calls…

  • +1

Not a deal when they jack the price up more than RRP

    • Well it's an overall cost saving deal, but you do you.

  • Great little device, loved it. Until I got fold 3 and ditched it

    • +5

What ditch did you throw it in? Asking for a friend.

        Gumtree

    • A $2500 device compared to a $750 device, colour me surprised one is better than the other and a totally different usecase.

      • Before fold 3 I was using ipad mini and s10e. Now sold both.

I’ve joked that the Mobile version of this is the best value iPhone. No spam calls no phone app bigger screen best processor

  • Great little device. Swapped my 11” IPad Pro for this. In my opinion this is the perfect iPad size for home and travel. Fits in the hand nice and doesn’t feel to uncomfortable to balance in the hand.

Is this seriously what a new iPad Mini costs… on special? Is it really two or three times as good as an Android alternative? I recently bought 20 Lenovo Tab m10 FHD Plus Gen 2 (catchy name, huh?) for work, at about $239 a pop, with education discount plus not-for-profit (seemingly 10% extra off) just by chatting with the Lenovo support person, and depending on what you need them to do, they're fine for web browsing etc. For just over a third the price.

Right now they're even cheaper with SCHOOLISBACK coupon, if you've got an edu login: https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/education/tablets/android-table…

    Web Price: $329.00
    After Instant Savings: $259.00
After eCoupon: $233.10 inc. GST & delivery
    Savings: $95.90

Unlike the Android alternative, the iPad mini will still receive updates many years after.

    • They're not even in the same ballpark in terms of performance and features. It's like comparing an iPhone Pro to a budget Oppo phone.

An Android alternative doesn't really exist in this size, something like the Galaxy Tab S7 or Xiaomi Pad 5 would be a better comparison but they're both larger and the performance still doesn't match up to the A15 in this.

      • I agree.

I hope Samsung or Google develop a small sized tablet that legitimately competes with the mini at a cheaper price.

The closest thing we have in terms of specs is the Galaxy Tab Active3, but that's too expensive.

They need to make a version that has at least 4GB of RAM, decent CPU, display, and minus all the "rugged" stuff.

Got one. Thanks OP. Now, where can I find cheap Apple Pencil 2?

  • I just came to see why the new ipad mini has such a huge bezel on one side. Discovered its just they used 2 of them in the thumbnail.
