Brings the price down to $666?

  • Why can't Acer 15.6 laptops have Thunderbolt 4?

That's what you're worried about? I'm more worried about colour gamut (they don't say what it is) and not being touchscreen

Personally I'd prefer TB4 over either of these too. TB4 means you can Dock the laptop (with multiple external displays) and charge over usbc, and even go egpu if you really wanted!

The touch screen is a personal preference, however lots of pure laptops seem to be moving away from them.

          Agreed.

Touchscreen is convenient but not essential for me - I've had two laptops with touchscreen and barely used it.

As you said, docking the laptop with multiple external displays is far more useful (for me).

        • only benefit of touch screen on a laptop (vs 2 in 1) is the glass screen which is easy to clean and doesn’t scratch …..can’t see myself touching the screen if i have a mouse or touch pad ……

According to some deeper googling, it uses this panel:

        https://www.panelook.com/B156HAN02.1%20HW0A_AUO_15.6_LCM_ove…

        Not good imo.

It pretty much defines "standard panel" haha. 250cd and 45%ntsc.

    • Because they're a more budget model, and don't want to pay for all the extra stuff needed to meet the TB4 spec I'd guess. It's much less thier target market.

  • Would this do video out to dual monitors via its USB C 3.2 gen 1? Or would it need TB3/DP alt mode?

  • Can you charge this laptop via usb C ( sounds like a no from above comments )?
