10% off All Charging Stations and Charging Cables & Free Delivery @ EVSE

Received an email for 10% off everything at EVSE

The charging cables seemed popular the other day, so thought I'd post this. They're still only $224.10 which is a bargain.

Can also get a 22kw 3 phase charging station for $1125, which is $125 off the usual price. Seems like a good deal, and the google reviews are promising too.

There's also an option for free delivery.

  • Funny will have to worry about chargers with my future EV car

    What's coming next?

What future gadget will be powered by batteries and needing a charger? (My brain is trying to think of one)

    Bookmarked just incase πŸ‘πŸ˜

  • I wish they had options with home automation or even a basic 24hr timer option. I just want something simple and cheap so I can plug and forget for overnight off-peak charging.

A simple analogue plugin timer would be ideal for my existing plugin charger, but I'd rather not send 10 amps through a cheap $5 Kmart one then have it ignite while I'm asleep…

    • Timers are built into the car. An EVSE just supplies power at a set rate to the car, the charger itself is inside the car.

So you can set the car to charge/disconnect at whatever time you want.

      • Not all cars, unfortunately

My MG HS phev doesn't appear to have this as an option anywhere in the menus, presumably because it's not a dedicated EV. As soon as a cable is plugged in it'll immediately start charging.

I'm sure it'd be rather straightforward to add this feature via a firmware upgrade, but in the meantime I need external solutions for scheduling my charging instead of having to remember to plug the cable in at bedtime…

        • Interesting. Mitsi Phevs have built in timers via an app (does MG have an app)? Or set via the headunit manually.

Timers also can be set to engage only when in vicinity of your home wifi.

          • @tunzafun001: No app, nor any external connectivity from what I can tell.

I know some models had emergency sos calling built in, which implies a SIM card, but I don't think my model even has that.

I'd be confident that later models will have all these extra features, but being their first PHEV I think MG is playing it safe and getting the basics nailed down like the transmission with two engines + regen braking before adding additional bells and whistles.

  • It’s worth noting that the Tesla Wall Connector is the cheapest 3 phase 22kW charger available at $780 direct from the Tesla website.

Very nice piece of kit, compact and easy on the eye and is easy to install and setup.
