Chevron 6x CR2025 Batteries $3.20 (Was $8) @ Woolworths

910

CR2025 batteries are used in a multitude of small devices including some car key fobs, Tiles, watches, digital thermometers, blood glucose monitors, calculators, PDAs, electronic organizers and much more.

I always keep a few on hand so I can replace them as required. Today I needed one to replace the battery in my Mazda 6 key fob.

I am running low on stock so had a look to see who had a good deal on replacements.

These Chevrons are normally 6 for $8.00, currently on special for $3.20

Thats 53.33* cents per battery, and you don't have to buy a humungous number of them to get this price.

Sure they aren't Energizers or Duracells, but they are lithium 3 volt cells and they are probably around average quality for a very good price….

There are other sizes on special at Woolies this week:

CR2032 - 6 for $4.80

CR2016 - 6 for $3.20

You think these are bad?! Try tasting the Duracells >.<

      • Better than eating magnets.

Does anyone still use PDAs nowadays?

    • Yes, I still use my Palm Zire 72s but it uses rechargeable batteries not these button ones.

For curiosity sake, may I ask why?

Realised I'd run out of CR2032s, thought I'd check OzBargain first, and it's literally the first post on the main page ♥️

    • +1

Wow, that was a real positive!

Until you get to the store and realise you’ve been OzBargained

If you don't see any on the shelf, ask the staff or service desk, trust me they are rarely out of stock 😉

          • +3

@nismo: Most people just gonna say "If they aren't on display, they dont have stock for them"

Workers are too lazzy to actually go and have a look, or may be to call the right person who'd be able to grab customer some from the back. Okay I get the fact workers are busy, and stuff, and making them unload a pallet or something sooner than they otherwise would have If customer wasn't there is a pain in the ass.

But yea legit honestly most workers are just too lazzy. And I believe people in the service dont even got a clue where their shelf filling team puts stuff, so just make excuse saying they are OOS.

            • @USER DC: Happened many times when worker acts like they KNOW it's nowhere

Then ask a different worker and they take u straight there
I've even walked around myself to find it

If you are after 2032's, I've heard that the SCA batteries are good value.
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-lithium-coin-bat…

    • would have been even cheaper on 26th, 25% off site wide, if that was posted before then, it would have been ozbargain, people were discussing what to get at SCA on 26th.

FML. I paid $15 for 2 from the shoe repair guy at my local shopping centre recently. So much for trying to support small business!

Mr Bezos saves us trillions annually… he should be Australian of the Year!

    • +1

And if they are energizer, they'll last WAY longer than the cheap crapola brands, you'll probably still come out ahead in the end

  • Tiles?

  • Bunnings have the Duracell 8 pack for around $16 the main advantage is the bitter coating is an attempt to deter kids from eating them

    • I tried one once… yuck! I much prefer the smooth, metallic taste of these Chevrons

    eBay Panasonics FTW

  • All the CR2032 at my local woolies are dated best before 2022 🙄

      Live fast, die young

Manufactured 2020 and expired 2022….. Compare to energiser with 8 years shelf life

  • I just buy Cheap eBay shit they last me like 3 months on my TPMS sensors (1632 i think), and like 6-7 months on 2032 (for smart things multipurpose sensor)

    • Smartthings multi-purpose sensor uses 2450

      • yeah maybe that one i bought then, they got too many numbers dude.
anyway easy to lookup what battery you need says on old battery. And buy cheapo T&E stuff from eBay

        • Yes last time i got 2450's for the multi-purpose sensors i got this 20 pack for $32 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133173235503 with a bit more off with a coupon.

They work well, many ST sensors are going several months later.

average quality for a very good price

Is it better to buy average quality for a very good price, or very good quality for an average price? Kind of a philosophical question, but I need the guidance of the hivemind

    • +2

Depends, if I'm changing a CMOS battery on an iMac, very good quality for an average price. It's a pain in the ass to open it again.

      • I see, so you’re saying horses for courses. Saddle up, and ride down to Woolies

    • I get Energizer ones from ebay with $2 off $5 cashbacks

      • Energizer from eBay… no fakes from there

  • is this company is same as Chevron oil and gas company?

    • I thought it was just a Woolies homebrand. Not sure.

  • Nice find!

  • Careful your kiddy doesn't eat them

  • OOS at my local unfortunately

  • Need nine for a stargate

Perfect timing, I needed both CR2025 and CR2032 today and was heading for Amazon when I found this deal. Went to woolies and batteries are all replaced, thanks.

    • I love it when batteries synchronise their demise… so convenient!

      • +1

Yes tell me about it, car remote, garage remote and 1 other device all gone within days of each other.

  • +1

These are rubbish. If you want decent button cells at a fair price, get the Varta brand ones at Bunnings.

  • +4

If I buy bulk I’ve misplaced them by the time I need them.
    Pyrrhic saving.

  • +2

Saw the 2032s at this price a few days ago, didn't think was much of a deal considering it's $5 for 8 at Ikea and thanks to this comment I see even cheaper $5 for 10 at Supercheap

  • my WW in Brisbane had a best before of Sept 2022

  • The packs I got in my local Woolworths are best before October 2023

    • I never thought to look until I had already bought them but mine were late 2023 also. Woolies clearing this range I'd guess.

  • Just in time for car key fob. The ones I bought from AliExpress have long expired. Time to get new stock.
