Free The Good Guys $10 Voucher with an in-Store Purchase (Ask for Your Digital Receipt, Requires Mobile & an Online Account)

631

Shamelessly copied from similar JB Hi-fi deal.

Hi All,
Just went to TGG to take advantage of price matching the JBL Tune 500 deal and was asked if I wanted digital invoice. Thought nothing of it, said yes and supplied my mobile number. I then received a SMS similar to JB Hi-fi deal: Access digital invoice in 30 days to activate $10 store credit.

Side note: Cashier was awesome and accepted price match but repeated the phrase "How is it so cheap" multiple times.

To receive you must:

  • Purchase something from bricks and mortar TGG store in person.
  • Request for a digital invoice to be texted to you.
  • Follow the link which will direct you to a page with instructions.
  • Link to an existing or new TGG online account.

Voucher will be emailed to you a few minutes later.
Good Luck and Enjoy.

This may work on an existing in-store purchase — login to your account and browse through your past digital receipts and look for the offer.

T&C — thanks to Briefcase Mong

Also got the same offer from an online purchase few days ago. Shame that the voucher is only valid for 5 days and requires minimum $50 purchase. T&Cs here: https://thegoodguys.sirv.com/Content/2020FY/Promotions/tc-no…

Generally those conditions mean nothing in practice for TGG. These store credits actually have a $0 min spend and generally work for a long time after the stated expiry.

      • Good to know! That would be nice if true as I don’t have anything I need from TGG at the moment.

      • Tried one which I forgot to use late last year, didn't work. Probably left it too long. Wish I tried it earlier.

      • Never tried with concierge credit. Always rush to purchase something before expired.

      • It had worked several times previously. However when I tried last month it didn’t work.

    • For me, my voucher expires after 7days of receiving: https://imgur.com/a/2kDf2cQ

      • Just noticed the comments above 🤦‍♂️ nevermind, giving it away for free to someone who's lucky

I haven't been getting those $10 store credit vouchers for the last 8+ months. I do it the same day as I get the SMS but nothing for the 7 purchases I can recall. Sent emails to TGG but seems like they don't bother. Anyone came across same issue and knows a fix?

Same for me. Made so many purchases, added digital receipts but never received the $10 vouchers. Asked the store during my last purchase and they said to reach out to the corporate office as they don’t have any visibility of these store credits.

Yup same here. Could not find any way to call the corporate office to talk to anyone over the phone. Sent a few emails then gave up. Counts as false advertising IMO.

I checked with their customercare, apparently One time only per customer account.

      • Interesting! That means their systems are not talking to each other properly. One says you get a store credit while the other says nah you've already got one before. 🙄

      • Can confirm this. It’s in their T&C that one after trying to find out why I didn’t receive it.

Btw, I think it’s based on phone number when you purchased it, so probably try different phone number next time you buy it?

    • Same here. I tried for several purchases and have always missed out.

    • I didnt get mine too.

The same here. Never received any of the credit.

  • I was buying something from TGG and the cashier refused to scan my 4 month old promo code even though it was working for online purchase. Would have bought online if it hadn't been for the price-match.

Anything for $1 in the bargain bin?

When you say shamelessly copied from jb deal… I’m pretty sure JB & GoodGuys are the same company as of a few years ago.

Sharing my experience with their so called store credits ($10 digital invoice ones or $20 concierge ones). Good guys and their too good to be true store credits are nightmare. I get that you are getting them for free so maybe that’s why they make it as difficult as they can to be used. They are purely to lure people into the shop.

You can’t use them for anything that’s on special. Sometimes I have gone in store for click and collect order only to be told they don’t have exact item in store, so to chose something else then and there or forfeit it. Wtf.

You cannot use 2 in same transaction so if you bought a $50 item and want to use 2 credits of $20 each, they will only let you use 1 and pay $30 out of pocket. Even when you tell them their website states you can use 2 in one transaction, they don’t care.

Validity can vary between 3-7 days and they won’t extend it even if it they have stuffed it up e.g. sold and out of stock item.

Their onsite support is next to none, they will either ignore your emails or reply a month later with incorrect answers.

  • I bought this with my $10 credit Wahl Clipper Oil, good if you started using clippers during lockdows.

  • I have $100 of credit with them right now and no idea what to buy with it :(

  • looks ended, promo page went to 404
